Game Deals: PSP Drops Price, FFXIII Special Offers
Yeah, we all want STUFF. But "stuff" usually costs money so in order to satisfy your purchasing desires, you often have to be clever and observant.
This weekend, if you plan to drop some cash on gaming "stuff," you should probably know that the PSP-3000 has fallen $20 at GameStop, as evidenced by this Gamestop flyer. You can now snag the core unit for only $149.99, which isn't a bad deal considering the PSP Go still sits at an unhealthy $249.99. Besides, the PSP's library really has blossomed over the past couple of years. Then you've got the Final Fantasy XIII deals at GameStop and other retailers: you can pick up the new epic RPG for only $20 at GameStop when you trade in "two select PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii games;" make sure you check the list before trying it. Most GameStops are also doing a midnight launch for the game, as are other retailers, as noted by Gamer Deals. Select Best Buys will be doing a midnight launch or if you opt to pre-order FFXIII from Amazon, you can pick up an extra $10 to a future purchase. Walmart is offering the same deal; they'll give you a $10 gift card with your FFXIII pre-order.
It's nothing too momentous, but at least any of these deals will save you a bit of cash. Personally, I'm still waiting to write the news article that says Sony has come to their senses and dropped the price of the PSP Go...

Completely agree, those that are not hardcore gaming fans will most likely be mislead into thinking those games are exclusives. M$'s way of covering up the fact that they have practically no good exclusives (I own both consoles btw, I learnt this the hard way).

That's why GOW lost it's charm to me, there's no way I'll be able to buy a PS3 within this year, the failbox is kinda cheap but I'm sticking with "the dark side"

That could just be me, but I don't really enjoy buying games from EB anymore.
I do not enjoy the cramped feeling I get when entering the store, kind of like there is a lot of pressure. Or that I can somehow feel the eyes of the person standing behind the desk waiting for me to pick up a game and walk towards him, only for him to try and place another game in my hand saying how he will add it for only $20 more. My point is, I used to love EB, I went there whenever I could to either buy a game or to simply play a free trial of a game on one of their display models. Now I want to spend as little time as possible in the store. Pick game, buy and get out.
GameStop ruined EB, but at least I have my memories.

Here in Canada, the Best Buys and Future Shops are advertising that if you trade in 2 select games, you get XIII free =D
I'm picking up XIII next Sunday, along with Heavy Rain, so just like last year's March Break (got Killzone 2 and MGS4 LE), I'll be having one heck of a time! ^.^

I really don't understand all the HATE for GameStop. It's the only game store in my area and the folks who work there are all pretty darn cool! I've spent hours there, just talking about random stuff!
So, I know it's a little off topic, but can you guys clue me in on why you're haters?

Gamestop rips off the buyers, the sellers AND the publishers. I have no issues with the employees. My local store has a pretty knowledgeable staff.

@Alienange...
LOL!! That's too bad! But it couldn't be any worse than any Game Convention, like E3, TGS or PAX!!!

(although there is one female idiot that drives me crazy with her 1980's Valley Girl persona. And all her goofy sh!t makes the original "valley Girls" look like genius 190+ IQ'ed MENSA Members).
But back to why I like GS/EB itself, it's probably only because I'm a collector & never trade in any thing. I have witnessed many times, some of the Super-Sucky trade-in prices that GS/EB has given others & I always think "WhyTF" did the person say OK to getting the raw end of a sour-balls deal?
BTW, I usually buy my games in large batches, so I almost always wait for a used game to drop to either, a $20 price range, or maybe buy it at a $25 to $30 price but only when it's on one of their "buy 2,get 1 free" deals going on.
FYI, here's a great deal going on right now at ALL GS/EB's for any gaming collectors still missing some older system's titles....
Any GS/EB that still have some "USED" original Xbox games in stock, want's to clear all that inventory out so they've got a "buy 2, get 2 free" deal going on until the stock's all gone.
And, GS/EB also want's to clear out all its stock of "USED" GameBoy & GameBoy Color games too, so they've also a great deal on them too....a 75% off deal going on till that stock has been sold off.
(I just finished combed through 5 of their stores & came away with 31 GB & GBC games that GB/EB had prices on, totaling over $117.
And all of that only came to only about $26 after getting another 10% off on top of the first 75% off, by using their "Edge" card.)

LOL
Ya know that old saying....
"There's no room at the Inn"????
Well, because of all my gaming collections, I'd have a special map printed just so you could navigate the now cluttered living room of my apartment, LOL
Oh well, but even without eating a bowl of Lucky Charms, at least my collection clutter feels like "I've got me very own wee pot-of-gold, me laddie"!
(MMMMM, and quite magically delicious too)

$120 + $20 = $140
so for $140 dollars I now have a new $60 game and 2 less $60 games.
So basically I just paid $140 for a $60 game and gave away 2 of my games for no reason. Sounds like a deal to me.

There are some games on the list that does not cost $60 anymore either, like Uncharted 1 for instance. It's $30 new, good luck selling it to anyone for more than $20. But if you want to trade in Heavy Rain, then yes, you're making a bad deal... It's all about being smart.
I'm trading in Uncharted, and Twilight Princess for Wii. For me that's a good deal since I never play the games anymore and there is no way I will sell them for more than $20 anywhere.

But yes, GS gives a little too little for their games when you sell them back, I can agree on that. But as I said, it's an easy and fast way to get some cash for your games you never play anymore. With this particular deal you can also, if you play your cards right, make a better deal than you could make anywhere else.

i wouldnt trade in the 2 games on their lists though, as im sure they are recent games that are most definetly worht more than the 20 bucks tghey will give you for it....
however, i took RE5 and they gave me 20 bucks with my edge card, bought WKC for 40 , not a bad deal imo

On a side note G4 finally reviewed Final Fantasy 13 and no shock at the 4 out of 5. Just wish the game would hurry up and release.
