Bad Company 2: Fastest Selling 2010 Title In The UK

EA has been saying for months that it'll really blow our minds when it releases; that we shouldn't be surprised if it tops Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Well, at least in the UK, gamers have quickly bought into the hype. And rightly so, as the game is totally bad-ass and completely worth your time and money, especially if you were a fan of the original title. According to El33tonline, DICE's intense and beautiful shooter has become the fastest selling game in the UK for 2010 thus far. It is currently #1 on the UK Software Sales Chart and according to the region's stat-tracking system, Chart Track, the sequel has outsold the first Bad Company by a 3:1 ratio in the first week of availability. That isn't too surprising, though; most new IPs don't sell especially well but if they turn out to be successes, the follow-up game usually sells extremely well (i.e., Uncharted and Uncharted 2). Of course, "Battlefield" isn't exactly new but the Bad Company part of it makes it a new IP in our eyes. Anyway, if you haven't had the chance to play it yet, you should definitely join the crowd.

We'll be interested to see how Battlefield: Bad Company 2 fared here in North America, too. A lot of people may be saving their money for Final Fantasy XIII this week and God of War III next week but then again, Battlefield may appeal to a different audience.

man there are too many good games coming out now. am enjoying bad comapny and am not sure where i'll get the time for gow3 and ff13....

gow3 will be getting my money. then battlefield at a later date. I just have enough shooters now and no interest in the FF series.

This is game is the sh**. I'm really enjoying this game. Beat the campaign couple days ago and I loved bringin down houses on the enemies.
Online is where the game is that though.

Has anyone notice how time consuming it's going to take to get to top rank online?

Ye, be fun getting their though, I dare not think how much time I have put into the Battlefield games over the years, I must have put about 70 hours into the beta and demo alone.

So far i am enjoying BFBC2 more than MW2. It doesnt feel like they dumbed it down like IW did with MW2. Theres quite a bit of challenge even on the normal difficulty.

The single player is totally under-rated imho. Yes, the story isn't mind-blowing, but the experience is pretty awesome. Love what they did at the beginning and how it ties in with the rest of the franchise. Also, check out the dialog during check points - just leave the controller and listen. The guys go on and on about random shit, and it's hilarious..

Can't wait to DL the VIP goods as soon as EA and Sony get it together.

How is the split screen action?

I don't need anymore FPS action but I have a friend I feel I should recommend this to since he lives and breathes Military FPS and I indulge him when we hang out.

Wow, i was hoping it would have online splitscreen unlike a certain fps i want to break to pieces. But it doesnt even have splitscreen versus? That just sucks. When i get a job, and my friends decide to buy this, i may get it.

Wasn't Aliens Vs Predator a top seller over there at launch? BC2 is no doubt a better game, but they seem to display a bum's eye for games there from time to time.

I loved the beta of this. Soooo fun when playing with a friend through a mic or phone. And the ATV controls were so perfect, i always used it whenever i can. MW2's ATV sucked, and they didnt even put it in the online, or any vehicle.

I am slowly getting into it... it is actually great fun to play... but I still have that niggly feeling I should have purchased MAG instead... anyway, let's see how it will play out in the coming months.

I can always get MAG on the cheap later on :)

The only thing I like over MAG is the squad/teammate communication setup and the leveling and customization system (thats the RPG fan in me). Not to say BC2 isn't great, just not as detailed as MAG's.

plus the fact that pretty much anything can be destroyed is crazy awesome!

Man ive got too many games. I want to play mag but then i have gbs on MW2 all the time and i just bought battlefield and i wanna play it! but noooooo i have schoool woopie. Oh well i have friday off ill finsih the campain and get started on multiplayer. That ww2 level was great. They neeeeed to make a WW2 game that looks this good i would buy it in a heart beat. DICE+DDAY=EPIC ACTION! sorry for my typing im on my ipod

great, now if only the ps3 version can hurry up and release here!
just encase you have not noticed EA this is 2010 not 2006.
theve really pissed me off with this.
first they wont shut the ^%$# up about this is better than mw2, there even so pathetic to take pot shots at it during the SP campaign.
i swear DICE have the maturity of a 2 year old!
than they release all versions worldwide but if you want the ps3 version here you have to wait.

if the ps3 version is ready for play in Europe, US, Japan and everywhere else than its ready for play here.
god i knew i should of stuck with the PC version!

I love this game! The singleplayer mode is so-so, but I'm just dying to play more and more in MP. I don't remember other game that sucked me in like this one. Last saturday when I started playing in the morning I finished around 11pm... that was crazy...
