OPM Teases "Massive PS3 Sequel"

The last "secret PS3 sequel" turned out to be SOCOM 4, which excited many but disappointed others. Well, perhaps an even bigger sequel will be revealed next month...

If you have a copy of the most recent edition of the Official PlayStation Magazine, you've probably already spotted it. If not, here's what you're missing: a big teaser ad saying that a "big sequel" will be revealed before the next OPM comes out. They don't say it's an exclusive, so we should probably see the unveiling some time within the next few weeks online, depending on the source. Once again, we keep thinking it has to be either Resistance 3 or Killzone 3, both of which have a chance of coming out at the end of this year. Then again, it could be something else entirely; we know a lot of you have been waiting on Eat Sleep Play and David Jaffe's secret project, especially because most assume it'll be a new Twisted Metal. And because it's a sequel, we can rule out any new IP talk, too. As for those of you looking for Kingdom Hearts III, we suggest you e-mail Square-Enix and just ask 'em. You won't receive much of a response but that's the best you can do.

So maybe it's a toss-up. Which shooter will it be? Insomniac's or Guerrilla's? Does it really matter? Either will be massive...

....no but in all seriousness it's probably going to be either Resistance 3 or Killzone 3. I'm hoping for Killzone 3...but hopefully Guerilla doesn't rush it and make a leap of epicness like they did with KZ 2.

Man I love that idea, but I gotta say, second play through on Demon's Souls was quite the challenge. Maybe I didn't level up enough or something, but man was it killer.

I am always willing for 2 to be more difficult tho, challenge = fun.

Im hoping for K3 as well....I mean.....I'm still freakin play the second and I'm STILL in awe at how beautiful it is!....on the other hand....I'm very curious as to how R3 will turn out..I mean especially since *SPOILER ALERT*......

THAT GAME WAS AWESOME....ok, so maybe thats not spoiler, but hey...can you blame me?

like Sony said at GDC their waiting till e3 till revealed any big upcoming games and announcements. the big sequel wont be anything we want to hear like kz3 or R3, Uc3, etc. those games are better to be revealed at e3.

Well.

On the Playstation Blog (Europe), someone from Sony commented on how an announcement for GT5 would be coming soon.

I know it has a small chance of happening that way, so...

I am going with the next Ace Combat.

It's been a long time coming, and Ace Combat 7 could just happen.

... and here we go again! I wasn't too disappointed with last time's "surprise PS3 sequel"=SOCOM 4, although I am not big on FTP. I'm hoping this "Massive PS3 Sequel" will be both surprising and great.

Everyone knows Resistance 3 is coming (and insomniac almost always announces their game at GDC), so that wont really be a surprise. KZ3 would be awesome, but it seems a little early, imo.
I'm guessing Twisted Metal.

First of all, if anyone was disappointed with the Socom 4 announcement they have to have their heads checked. A new Socom by Zipper? Disappointed? No.

As for this new sequel, I think it's most like the next CoD.

Infamous 2 and Resistance 3 would be the ones I personally would be most excited to see. I still haven't played Killzone 1 or 2 so a sequal wouldn't mean a lot to me at this point but guess we will all find out soon.

It could be anything, but I'm personally hoping it's Demon's Souls 2

Will be kick ass if it's Resistance 3 or Killzone 3 though!

But knowing how DS2 impacted the rpg genre, I really hope it's that game.... (though, something like Legend of Dragoon/Legaia would be amazing as well)

Anyway, ps3 leading the way with exclusives!

Hope it is Resistance 3, but I want Killzone 3 more...man they should release both...one in September and one in November, that would be nice. The Multiplayer crowd might get pissed, but I prefer single player mode, so give me both, though I will definitely take Killzone 3 online. I like the realism. I am still confused why a game like MAG came out, shouldn't Zipper have just worked on making SOCOM awesome even though I have never played a SOCOM game, but still, why make MAG...nice concept, just not executed to its fullest potential. They might be hinting to ACIII or maybe (but unlikely) UC3 or Demons Souls

can we please get over resistance and killzone 3 please?
i mean come on every single time a announcements to be made everyone shouts these like their the only titles in existence.

anyway, apparently its a racing title so i would say twisted metal but than david did say hes game would most likely be announced at E3 this year.
and id assume they would want one of their best there at E3, just seems like a massive waste to release it anywhere else.

ill go off on a limb and say its NOT resistance 3 because insomniac have said there working on 2 new IPs so it cant be resistance 3.
also rumors coming in for the last few months that insomniac are going multiplatform.
now this could be a coincidence but the only way they could go multi is if they were to create a new IP because sony owns the rest.
and they just happen to be doing that.

I think they said there wouldn't ever be another Little Big Planet game. With all the different levels that people are creating and uploading that game will be original for years to come. I guess anything is possible though.
How about Resisdent Evil 6 with brace yourself..(drumroll) the ability to shoot and run at the same time.

It would be kind of weird if its Killzone 3 or Infamous 2 coming out, because its only been about a year or so since those games released. A year is nowhere near enough time for a game to get fully developed, so I'd expect to see both of those in 2011.

What really seems likely to me is Resistance 3, unless they want to save it for E3. In which case, its either Twisted Metal, GT5, or some multiplat.
