L.A. Noire: Pushing The Limits Of Open-World Gaming
Until we see some actual gameplay footage, we can only picture L.A. Noire in our minds.
And based on recent information, we can continue to enhance and solidify that image in our minds. It's the best we can do for now, so that's why we keep searching for more descriptions and explanations. Hence, we turn to an upcoming exclusive article in the European PSM3 magazine for extra details. Remember how we thought we might see some elements from both Grand Theft Auto and Heavy Rain? Well, this new feature mentions both those titles but also throws a couple more into the mix; they say it's a "clever mix between GTA, Heavy Rain, Mafia II and Broken Sword." They're even talking about "opening a new genus in the world of gaming," which sounds both impressive and encouraging. Here's another promising quote:
"After becoming the king of open-world, Rockstar is launching a new genre. A world of laws and intrigues which pushes to its limits the boundaries of the game of inquiry."
Perhaps this is the reason Team Bondi has required so much time in preparing the game. It sounds incredibly ambitious but at the same time, uber-ambitious projects face fare more potential pitfalls than normal projects. There may be new control schemes to deal with and if the storyline falls short, the entire experience falls short. But the first chance we have to get a glimpse of L.A. Noire, we're gonna take it. It's just too interesting to ignore.

And it's such a shame that another game is cut-down because of multiplatform issues. Final Fantasy XIII, Lost Planet 2 (yes, it still exists on PS3), and now LA Noire.
I can't wait for Agent. As long as Rockstar keeps that PS3 exclusive, then we'll really see what Rockstar can do with no limits and no boundaries.

I've never really been bothered by the whole "multi-plat" issue like so many here seem to be. Why kick these quality games to the curb? There's plenty of fun to be had with PS3 games that make their way onto the 360 as well. I would be upset if the PS3 didn't have them.

"This game wasn't high on my list anyways, looks like its being held back"

Now i do think some games are held back because of this but its not a blanket statement for all multiplatform games

Perhaps make it so that each section of the city is a different disc. This would be incredibly annoying for 360 owners, but if I were said owner I would rather have an absolutely amazing gaming experience and have to switch discs, than to have just another game.
This is my personal feeling of course and others might rather not buy the game than to switch discs. I would just rather devs not gimp their groundbreaking creations simply because a dvd has limited storage capacities in this day and age.

Anyway i think that I would still get the game regardless even though, IMO exclusive titles are better to their respective platforms. But oh well....

I'm guessing because Sony was friendly with Team Bondi, a second-party developer whose leader designed The Getaway games, Sony let Team Bondi keep the code and intellectual rights.
We all know Sony's exclusive game list is great; but imagine how much more of a killer line-up it would be if it included this game and Eight Days and The Getaway 3, both of which Sony now says haven't been cancelled.
