Welcome to getting older... it seems like time likes to just fly by! I think that's because 1 year becomes less of fraction of your life as you get older. For example, 1 year is 12.5% of an 8 year old's life. But for someone who is 25 years old, 1 year is only 4% of someones life. That is my theory for why the years start to go by faster and faster as you get older and older. Anyways...

When you are a kid, attention spans are very low. A few minutes to them feels like an hour. Hence making the years drag by even longer. Also always having something to look forward to helps slow time down; summer vacation, birthdays, holiday's, driver's license, etc. I get like that before every major game release.

Once we are adults, the only thing I really look forward to is going home after work. I don't wait for Christmas, Summer, or even birthdays.

Same here, at least that is the way it used to be when I was younger.

Now, when I get home from work, that is when the real work begins it feels like. Wife is done with the kids, so I take over. Then I always have a "project" at home. Shelves for the garage, upgrade kitchen, paint the house. Ah, then the wife wants you to go with her to the mall, or target, or where ever.

What age to I have to get to where I get to do what I want to do?

LOL forgot about those married guys :} Fortunately, my woman (fiancée), is HUGE into anime and enjoys a good JRPG and occasional shooter. It took a couple years, but I think I've converted her into enough of a gamer that I don't get much smack for not spending quality time with her as often. Key point there; we're still not married... :)

And why is it women want US guys, of all people, to go shopping with them?! Not like we want them to come along when we go check out electronics or other manly things like boxers and tube socks.

Man I feel sorry for some of you guys. My wife loves to go with me to best buy to browse the games and blu-ray. She likes to watch me play games.

Although I also go grocery shopping and help her pick out clothes, it's been said and I know it's true, we are an odd couple, but we're happy.

That's how it started with my woman. She watched me play all the way through MGS1, simply because she thought the story was interesting. After that, we started playing NBA Jam together (as a team) and it just took off from there.

Got her playing SIMS on PC and that was that. She's a gamer now. So, the 'trick' - if you want to call it that - is to play co-op games where the competition is between the computer and you guys. I was always complimenting her and saying how she was improving. Next thing you know we were playing split screen Killzone and Red Faction 1 & 2 on the PS2. Eventually she wanted one of her own so she could play games while I was playing.

Start with co-op, keep it simple, and be patient with their learning curve. Then they realize that gaming is not all about competition, but teams too.

Mid-june, & it lasts three/four days. I believe the 12th-15th. Wow, what can possibly be as big as Grand Theft Auto? The only game to sell more than that that I know of is MW, but we won't see an exclusive MW I'd think. Hmm, Capcom hasn't been too ps3-friendly recently, EA has been on the other hand. I think the company involved is EA or Ubisoft.

Man I'm with you. I so want DMC back the way it was. That garbage of 4 just didn't cut it with me. Imagine what they could do as an exclusive. I mean for crying out loud look what 3 did...IMO that was the best one in the franchise. I'm just hoping they do that, and I'm willing to hold my breath for one last time ;)

It has to be a big name brand that will get people out of their seats and take notice. And it must be from a 3rd party developer, as opposed to an obvious in-house made Sony game......this has got me excited.

I knew about Sony's existing stake in SE, I was thinking that they could strengthen that stake with an 'investment' along with a signed agreement regarding an FFVII remake and exclusivity. Investing in the future of SE sounds a lot better than purchasing an exclusive game, doesn't it?

I guess you can argue it that way, but seeing as how the series has been exclusive for the past 12 years, I just don't see this as the big announcement they're talking about. Especially since David Jaffe and Eat Sleep Play did the last Twisted Metal game that came out.

Well, it's not really an argument, I mean, not everyone does, but I do have a gaming rig. So, I kinda have to divide my attention between PC and PS3 games. Point is though, if it's avail for PC, I'm probably going to get it there. Unless it's an gametype that truly excels on console (TPS, Fighters, Racers etc...).

But still, the newest Twisted Metal, being exclusive to the PS3 would still be big news, wouldn't it?

I am still believing (perhaps foolishly) that Sony has a Star Wars surprise coming.

Battlefront 3 running on the tech that Slant 6 and Zipper created is something that I absolutely can see happening.

Plus, Kotaku reported that Slant Six was working on Battlefront 3...and they did SOCOM Confrontation..

The 256 player servers are in place.

Get it done.

Even though you may not like popular multiplatform games, you have to give credit where it's due.

Assassin's Creed, Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, Final Fantasy XIII are all great games that stand strong along side many of PS3's big hitters.

Even MS has some great games like Gears of War and Lost Odyssey.

From the context of the quote, it sounds like it's going to be a timed exclusive. So like all timed exclusive deals it will be initially announced as an "exclusive" (see M$'s past E3 announcements).

That game as already been announced. This would not classify as a 'big' announcement in this year's upcoming E3.

It would have to be an established franchise for it to be considered a big deal. Then again, some bigwigs tend to think we care about certain games when we couldn't give a rat's @$$.

Lets say the title was Madden 11, would anyone really care? I know some would, but I wouldn't.

If it were something like World of Warcraft, GTA, or Call of Duty that appeals to a mass market then it would shake the industry in the way MS did with the FFXIII or MGS announcement.

I would literally $#!+ bricks if they announced Gears of War 3 as exclusive for the PS3. I've been dying to play that series with my PSN friends.

Well if Epic owns the rights MS can't do a thing to stop them short of offering them money to keep it exclusive. The ball would be in Epics court at that point. Do they take MS's money? or do they take their chances, put it on PS3 and possibly make even more money then MS offered or could pay.

Twisted Metal PS3!

Timed PS3 exclusivity for GTAV... this is how it was on the PS2, so it wouldn't be unprecedented.

And how about Sony pulls a M$ft at E3 2010 and announces both the entire Mass Effect and Gears of War series are coming to the PS3 this holiday season with Mass Effect 3 and Gears of War 3 launching day and date with the 360 versions... or better yet the PS3 versions will be timed six-month exclusives.

While i don't care for Mass Effect and care for Gears even less, it would be unwise for EA and Epic not to release them for PS3. They make more money, the space marine alien shooter fanatics will get their games.

All MS exclusives can be done on PS3, but not the other way around. Seems like a win win to me.

I'm tired of them lighting the fuses on little announcement firecrackers, when they need to keep tossing tons of live grenades out of their loudspeakers.

I'm not sure what the excitement is here. Perhaps I'm not understanding the article? It looks to me like it's just a "time" exclusivity thing, like FFXIV or something. They said the news was "as big" as that time exclusivity they made with GTA: S.A.

Nothing wrong with timed exclusives except for the way they are announced.

Had Sony locked down a timed exclusive for GTAIV, do you think Xbox 360 would have sold as many as it has today? I don't think so.

One thing about PS3 owners, we tend to mop up exclusives like they are going out of fashion. As for 360 gamers, if Sony really wants to turn the tide and have some of them jump the fence it'll have to be something they already have or want.

Honestly, I can't think of any game that would be that huge if it were already an exclusive to PS3. Unless they they are going to show Agent and this person believes it will be Rockstar's next big hit.

I really think that it would have to be a game that was once exclusive to another platform coming to PS3.

The only titles from Nintendo that might make that sort of impression would be Mario, Zelda, or Metroid going to PS3.

As for Microsoft, the game has to be as high caliber as Grand Theft Auto. Right now, the only series 360 has that could compare would be Halo, Gears, or Fable (even though I'm not a big Fable fan). Maybe Splinter Cell, for some but I don't feel it compares.

If it were multi-platform going exclusive to PS3, what HUGE games compare to GTA? Grand Theft Auto's popularity can only be matched with Madden, Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, amd Final Fantasy.

I think it would be sweet if they returned "Grand Theft Auto" back to its original console. What is the difference -like, five times? - between how much you can cram on a Blu-ray disc versus a DVD? Imagine what Rockstar (or whatever company's doing the mystery game) could do if they didn't have to hamstring themselves cutting stuff that wouldn't fit on a DVD, or two, or three.

And if it's not the new "Grand Theft Auto" (and they should totally do an overseas GTA, like Paris, or Tokyo), then I would hope it's "Assassin's Creed III." Also set in Japan. ;)

And could THIS be the long-awaited exclusive that the PSX people have been keeping under wraps?

If it went back to it's original console, then the PC would be the only one to get it since that's where it started. But every major release in the series has been multiplat.

People you have to remember a lot of things here. Should FFVII get a remake, I'm pretty sure it would be for PS3/PC. Cuz SE knows the fans don't wanna hear crap about cut out content. Else it wouldn't be a remake. Fans want this to be the perfect remake. Plus I'm sure SE knows fans aint to keen to the 360.(Roll the clip! XD)

Also I personally thought it was GTA5 exclusive, even if its the same time contract R* offered sony for the PS2 and for 4 but sony wanted it a permanent exclusive and R* wanted cash for that. But some people do make good points why would they ignore 40million people. Well I hope its timed if its GTA5. Gears of War 3 for PS3 seems pretty likely now that all the rumors and stuff going around. First Mark Rein or Cliff B(forgot who) came out and said they own the Gears IP and can do whatever they want, then a rumor saying the Gears 3 tech demo was also running on a PS3, then Cliff B just came out and told Naughty Dog that they're going down and its on? Could this be its on to see who is the graphics king? Because clearly is Gears 3 is 360 exclusive again Cliff is talking out is @ass with that one. E3 hurry the FRENCH UP!

not putting the ffvii remake on pc is not cutting content. both versions had the same content so making it ps3 exclusive wouldn't change the content at all.

OH GREAT!!! Here we go again. These secret and surprise announcements are beginning to be so frequent that I expect to hear one each week. I hope we aren't as disappointed with this one as we have been with all the other 'secrets'.

I doubt it's Gear of War 3 since it's supposed to come out in April of next year. Microsoft has already planned to bring it out after Project Natal and Halo: Reach this winter.

If it's a timed exclusive, isn't that the same thing as a multi-platform game, just one console has to wait? I guess I don't see the big deal. If it isn't a real exclusive, it won't be able to take full advantage of the cell processor or the Blu ray capacity.

I'd be more excited about a non-exclusive game that was designed specifically for the PS3 and then they ported it over to the xbox.

The source claims it was as big as the GTA: San Andreas announcement. One would have to assume, talk as this suggests it must be a 3rd party game. It would likely be an already established series.

To meet an announcement of that caliber, the game would have to be HUGE. If it is a game that has already been announced as in development, depending on the publisher, it could be one of the following;

1. EA
-Dead Space 2
-Command & Conquer
-Mirrors Edge 2
-Star Craft 2

2. UbiSoft
-Next Ghost Recon

3. Activision-Blizzard
-Call of Duty

If it hasn't already been announced as in development, then I would have to guess that it may be one of these;

1. Epic Games
-Gears of War 3 (or Trilogy Pack)

2. UbiSoft
-Assassin's Creed 3
-Next Splinter Cell

3. Activision-Blizzard
-World of Warcraft

4. TakeTwo
-Grand Theft Auto 5

5. Square-Enix

Lets hope it's something substantial, not some unproven new IP or PSN downloadable title.

I'll sit up and take notice if they announce either a Monster Hunter game or a Dragon Quest game. Other than that? meh

I highly doubt they'll be announcing that a 360 exclusive is coming to the PS3. Sony really doesn't seem interested in that kind of thing.

i dunno man, it would be pretty sweet if all 3 gears of war were coming out on 1 bluray...it would be a double whammy to ms and their fans, saying "we can put three of your best games on ONE of our discs" while at the same time, stealing an exclusive.

and as an added bonus, theyre all pretty awesome games, too! (assuming the 3rd is the same as the other 2)

I don't care about 'steeling' 360's exclusives. For those die hard PS3 gamers who have never played Gears of War would be in for a treat. Especially with Horde mode and co-op campaign to boot. Gears is meant to be played with friends. It's the reason I even own a 360. Well that and Lost Odyssey.

I have yet to buy Resonance of Fate, Yakuza 3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Heavy Rain! My life consumed by )Mostly)PS3 exclusives. While trying to balance 10 hour work days, School, and a GF. A test of patience indeed, but in the end, much more worth it then I expect.

I don't see that happening. I think Sony is waiting to time this thing out in there favor. They'll probably try to released it at the same time as the move, this secret big exclusive, and any other huge title they can pack on so that they can make a killing during the holidays.

Not going to happen for three reasons:

1) Sony has a multigame exclusivity contract with ESP.

2) Sony owns the rights to Twisted Metal, unlike M$ft with Gears of War and Mass Effect (actually, the only worthwhile games I think M$ft owns are Forza and Halo).

3) Jaffe is a Sony fanboy.

If this source says it's as big as GTA San Andreas on PS2, it better be pretty damn huge.

If it's another massive hype over a smaller title, I will be highly disappointed.

I am really hoping that it is Gears of War coming to the PS3. That game is the reason I bought a 360. Still haven't tried Lost Odyssey yet, but if I have any spare time, will check it out. Damn you PS3 and your massive list of awesome exclusives!!!! God of War, Heavy Rain and Final Fantasy taking up so much time!!!

Honestly, I reckon it might be somewhere along the lines of:
-Dead or Alive 5
-Ninja Gaiden 3
-Monster Hunter
-MGS Rising getting 6 months exclusivity
-Gears of War
-Mass Effect
-Bioshock 3 (possibly)
-Fallout 4 (possibly)
-Batman Arkham Asylum 2

Or it could be a sequel to a game none of us have thought of yet.

Great!!! Now I'm excited about this year's E3. It's going to take much longer to come now that I'm waiting for it.

Infamous wouldn't be bad, but the way the guy describes the relation of the announcement to one made by Sony with GTA: San Andreas. It just has to be a 3rd party title.

If you are reading between the lines, it some sort of bombshell. Has to be a well known and popular franchise already multiplatform.

being eaten by a gigantic worm and severing all its arterys with a freaking chainsaw on the end of your gun is WAY! cooler than being some member of the navy seals.
i love socom as much as the next guy, no scratch that more than the next guy i was the only one here excited for its return!
but socom cant come close to gears when it comes to coolness.
gears is the Aston martian DB9 in slick black, and socom is the BMW M5, a car that takes 6 hours to get from 0 - 60 if you know what i mean ;)

They are two completely different genres. One is a shooter with cover mechanics and the other is a tactical team strategy.

Online modes differ because SOCOM non-respawn game modes. Offline differ because in SOCOM you command your team, while Gears you don't.

The closest game to SOCOM on consoles is Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon.

In my opinion, SOCOM was a great game before it went online only. After that, Slant Six (and possibly Zipper) dropped the ball when it came to the online community. There were just so many poor design decisions that made the online community fall short of the features that were once available on the PS2.

What has bothered me from day one was their decision to make the game only accessible if you have access to the servers. Why is that a problem? Well, for those who purchased the retail version that came with bonus video content, these videos were unavailable whenever the servers went down. Which quite frankly happened fairly frequently after launch.

Accessing the menu system also felt so sluggish and the controls were just a huge cluster f***. I very much enjoyed the gameplay, when it worked. I just could not handle sloppy lobby and menus. Trying to get friends or clans into 8v8 ranked rooms was a task in itself.

They messed up. Hopefully Zipper acknowledges this and brings back the features of the old PS2 SOCOM lobbies.

The funny thing about this comment is the fact that all e3 is, is big earth shattering announcements. So it's not like we're surprised that sony is going to have one.

I think however that the biggest announcement they will make is FF VII remake, release day November 2010. Just in time for the holidays.
