Confirmation Of MotorStorm 3 Found?

The original was good and the sequel was better, which is why we're assuming a third entry is inevitable.

Every time we hear rumors about an impending PlayStation 3 exclusive, we always tend to forget about the possibility of MotorStorm 3. The original was one of the most hyped games for the system early in its existence, and the sequel turned out to be better in just about every possible way. Both titles also sold relatively well so it would make sense that we'd soon see a third entry in the series. And perhaps we'll see one for the holidays: it's another big tease from a poster in the NeoGAF forums but it clearly shows a zoomed-in pic of "Motorstorm 3 First Playable" on a PS3 console. Now, we have no idea how this came to be or if it's only available to certain insiders, but it's a darn good sign that the game in question is on the way. Off-road racing fanatics should be happy; MotorStorm 3 has every chance of becoming a AAA title for Sony's console in 2010 and if it drops in the fourth quarter, it should be a hot Christmas release.

So now, the waiting game. When will Sony make the announcement? We're thinking very soon and likely before E3...

I agree. The cheating AI took all the fun out of it. I never even finished the 7th and 8th set of races.

Damn, if the game, & it's graphics, are as good as the damage showing in that pic is, then hell yeah!!!!

That's how the first one looks (and the damage is as such). Same with the second

Actually, that's from the CG trailer when the devs were making a target gameplay video for the upcoming PS3 release.

I still remember that first trailer and the badass music.

Here's a link to see the original trailer:

And of course, an actual gameplay trailer to see just how close they got:

Of course

It's like saying that real-time FFXIII looks just like FMV FFXIII (which it doesn't)

In game graphics never look as good as FMVs. And to be honest I believe they just make FMVs for presentation purposes and not much else.

Actually, I disagree.

Killzone 2 target render video was not nearly as detailed as the actual gameplay footage.

You need to check out the comparisons.
http://talkplaystation.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/killzone2-e3-vs-now.jpg

They are mainly for presentations, but it gives graphic artists a target to shoot for. Some developers come very close, to the point of nearly surpassing it (see Killzone 2). Others don't even come close.

Evolution Studios came very very close to their target video. I couldn't believe how close they came.

Rally/off road racing games are so underrated....

Sega Rally Revolution is still out there, people! (best rally game there is)

Motorstorm is a great series. Really like the experiment they did with MS2 (so much attention to the little details of off-road racing)

Can't wait to see what direction they'll take with MS3.

Motorstorm 1 & 2 rock the house. Love the soundtracks, as well.

Thanks Scarecrow,
I've got the 1st one, but just haven't had a chance to do any more than sample it for a few minutes.
And I hope to pick up "Pacific Rift" soon too.

I'll have to check out that SR Revolution too.

Get 2 as soon and cheap as you can. I have two friends who recently picked up PS3s and we have a ball in private races online, especially when we all have had a little adult kool aid.

I hope its true. Probably the best off-road racing series out there.

The original Motorstorm was the first game I ever played on my PS3, and I instantly fell in love with it.

I bought the Motorstorm bundle, looked a bit PS2 to me. But then that was early and I never played Part 2.

the only way I can think of to make motorstorm 3 better than 2 would to let the campaign be completed on split screen mode.

I guess I'm one of the only people who managed to get at least Silver in every single race in The Festival Mode in MS2...(4 Silver, the rest Gold!)...

Assuming it does release at the end of this year, I'll have to make even harder choice to choose what games I want, and if GT5 hits sometime then too, then MS3 may be overshadowed...I really hope MS3 gets released at the best possible time (but too early, I don't want any quality sacrificed).

I got all gold in the first one, but that was mainly because me and friends would take turns beating races.

I REALLY liked the first one, but the second didn't look different enough to put money down for, so I never tried it. I might jump right to the 3rd one depending on how it looks though.

By the time I got around to Motorstorm it was greatest hits price which made it all the more sweet when I popped it in my PS3 and experienced its beauty. A very nice game. I'll admit the AI was a little wacky, but it was still fun.

I got my copy of Motorstorm PR 2 weeks ago and it was worth the money, it's actually the second game my friends and I enjoyed A LOT "TOGETHER", with LBP being the first.

The 2 best things about MS:PR is that there's split-screen which MOST games are missing and then there's the custom soundtrack setting which works very nice.

Playing Motorstorm with the music "Song 2" just feel so good, you crash and then it's WOO HOO!!

MotorStorm 1 & 2 were great editions to my collection and have quickly become my favorite racing series. The MotorStorm games are under appreciated in my opinion. Looks like I'll have another stellar MotorStorm game too purchase!

This will be a day 1 purchase for this household. We had fun with the first one and a LOT more fun with the added features in Pacific Rift. Split-screen multiplayer was awesome! Getting the third installment will be a no-brainer for us.

I never bought either of the first 2, they were fun and all, but just not for me. I'd rather have a racing game that has multiple types of racing, not just off road.

I also don't care for racing games where you can't pull ahead no matter how good you are. I like a challenge, but if I'm good enough, they shouldn't be able to catch up and pass me unless I make a mistake, not just because they feel like it.
