Planet MiniGolf Rolling Onto The Network This Spring

Ah, minigolf. Who doesn't love a relaxing round of crazy putting with mechanical animals and fake sand traps?

Today, ZEN Studios has announced that Planet MiniGolf will hit the PlayStation Network this spring; they will be applying their "acclaimed ball physics engine" they utilized in the likes of ZEN Pinball, so the...uh...rolling ought to be accurate. And although it's a downloadable title, don't think for a second that it'll lack in longevity: the game will feature plenty of courses and a total of over 140 challenging holes, along with multiplayer options and a local hotseat mode, too. If you get really good, perhaps you'll want to participate in the Worldwide Challenge... Said Zsolt Kigyossy, managing director of ZEN Studios:

"Just as we have delivered the ultimate pinball experience with ZEN Pinball, Planet MiniGolf will serve as the ultimate arcade golfing experience on the PlayStation Network. Planet MiniGolf gives casual players and golfing aficionados alike everything they could ask for in a golf game, with wacky courses, character customization, custom course builder and global competitions."

We'll even get a cool Golf Course Editor so we can design and play on our very own courses! When completed, you can jump online and share them with other gamers, too. Oh, and perhaps we shouldn't be surprised to hear that it will boast support for the new PlayStation Move, although the latter won't be available until the fall. I hope it doesn't sound as if I'm mocking the game in question in this article; I freakin' love minigolf and I'm just trying to capture the casual appeal of the title. Just so ya know, guys at Zen.

Whoa, this could be a good title in the PSMove's library.

This could be a good title, whether it uses Move or not. I love mini-golf. The last mini-golf I played was one for the Wii and it sucked hard.

If they do this right I know what I will be doing this spring.

interesting... if it stays near the $15 mark, i'll probably buy this... but with all the features and courses, it sounds more like a $30 game...

i'll await your review in the coming weeks :D...

Yes, Ball physics are the greatest. :D wonder if they'll look as nice as hustle king's balls...

I love me some mini golf. This spring will be too soon for me to get it though. Have to get some other games first, like heavy rain for example.

I don't like it when holes are too challenging.

And before you take that final plunge, just make sure to yell out "Fore" instead of the usual "Look out, here I come".
