PSN Gets Its Annual Spring Fever

Sales are good. ...sorry, I've been sitting here thinking up an opening line for this article for way too long; you'll have to be satisfied with the brief and blunt.

Anyway, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has announced the arrival of spring fever for the PlayStation Network. If you haven't checked your calendars recently (get outside!), you should know that spring is officially upon us and to celebrate, Sony has once again kicked off a PSN sale that affects content for both the PS3 and PSP. A variety of great games are now available to purchase at half price - that's 50% off, peeps - but you need to strike before June 1, when the sale ends. This week, we've got Gravity Crash and Everyday Shooter marked down to $4.99 from $9.99 plus new PlayStation Home costumes for your virtual avatar; there's "Spring Bumblebee" and "Spring Flower." Furthermore, every time you purchase an item featured in the Spring Fever Sale, you will receive a voucher that can be redeemed for a portion of the five part costumes. So this week, you can get Spring Bumblebee feet and Spring Flower feet; you'll need to shop every week to build the full costume. As of now, the PSN is home to thousands of great pieces of content and to date, over 829 million pieces of digital entertainment have been downloaded by Network users worldwide.

So take advantage while you can and check out the spring fever sale items on the PSN. If you've been holding off on picking up a few things, you might get 'em cheaper now.

5 bucks for Everyday Shooter. Sounds like I held off for the perfect time. The two others I want are Flower and Braid. Wipeout HD/Fury's already in my collection, though, I wouldn't have minded paying full-retail price for that one. I spent $20 for HD and $10 for the Fury DLC. $15 for both would be a crazy deal.

Ben:

I looked for Everyday Shooter under new releases and special deals, but could not find it at 4.99. Is there another way for finding the deal?

I don't think it's out yet, last year Spring Fever was it's own section, it'll probably be in tomorrow's update.

I hope they put Flower on sale again, for the people who haven't played it yet, I really, really liked it, it's got a great style and it just gives you this sense of tranquility, it's just beautiful.
Go get it people, like not right now, you can, but I'd wait till it's on sale if I were you, saving cash is good.

I rarely go on the store, outside of occasionally checking the latest demos. But I did wander around there the other day looking for a "On Sale" section. I couldn't find one. Does it exist?

Anyone care to lead a PSN Store noob by the nose here?

It's grouped under "new". From there you should see an icon for the sale. That will lead you into the group of items on sale.

So from the sounds of it there will bee a different selection of games every week until June. That's good, because these two games are pants even at $5.

i'm awaiting my spring break. I think I'm going to set aside at least one day or so and really confine myself to some great games that need catching up on. Unfortunately I will not have access to high speed internet so I might not be able to download any cheaper gems from the PSN.

I can't seem to take down one of those Adamantoise guys (the big ones, little ones are easy for me right now) I've maxed out almost all of my characters in all paradigms but damn ...just too much work to take down a turtle :P Guess I'll resort to summons next time I feel like playing.

I've said it before.... But this game was alot of fun. I beat it last night at 52 hours... And I've already started to hunt some marks and upgrade some weapons. Well worth the 60 bucks.

@Zemus - I don't know when I'll try to take down a big daddy, but it won't be anytime soon. But walking around Gran Pulse really does give this game some SIZE!!

Sounds like a couple of bargains coming our way, and that's always a good thing.

But who loves the free stuff?
Yeah, that guy.....ME!
So far I've been able to pick up "Rag Doll Kung-Fu" & "Flow" when they had those free timed give-a-ways.

Rag Doll was just an OK game, but Flow is an absolute artistic gem!!!!!!

I've never really understood why people would waste money buying virtual clothes for their virtual selves. It just doesn't make sense!!!

There are millions of people around the world begging for warmth and shelter, and here we are throwing up to 100 bucks at virtual clothing!!!

I just don't get it!?!?!?!

Ummm...I've yet to hear of anyone spending that much money on virtual clothing in Home. I see your point, though.

On the rare occasion I visit Home, I just rely on the free stuff they give you. I like how some games I own (or even rent) unlock stuff. Some people really like the concept of Home, though. If they want to spend a lot of money on virtual items...I say let 'em go for it. It gives Sony more $$ to create support the games the rest of us really want.

Wish they'd cut the price of the Dragon Age Awakenings expansion...I'm definitely going to get that sucker but $40 for the download is pretty steep. I can see for retail disc but d/l should be cheaper imo. I'll still but it anyways, i'm hopelessly hooked....
