Kingdom Hearts 3 "In Conception," Might Release In 2010?

For those of you hoping for Kingdom Hearts 3, isn't it great to hear the actual name mentioned by Square-Enix?

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Ultimania releases today and details from the large guidebook featuring an interview with series director Tetsuya Nomura have hit the Internet. According to a translation by FF-Reunion and posted by HeartStation, Nomura mentions "Kingdom Hearts 3" several times in an interview, and even says that there are a total of three KH titles in the works, one of which might arrive towards the end of this year. Said Nomura:

"About the next title, Kingdom Hearts 3 depends on Final Fantasy XIII Versus, but development of the next title is already underway. There are two titles other than Kingdom Hearts 3 in conception, and I think I’ll release one within this year."

Furthermore, he adds that the series definitely won't end with KH3 and that Sora "will be the hero until the end." We've been hearing rumors about a possible third installment for quite a long time now, and we're all assuming that KH3 will be coming to the PlayStation 3, while the other two games might go to portables. Perhaps one is even being made for the new 3DS... Anyway, while there are no confirmed platforms right now, we can only guess but the mere fact that "Kingdom Hearts 3" has been brought out is good enough. For now.

Holy sh**...so there is a "Kingdom Hearts 3" - which depends on Final Fantasy Versus XIII (which is very hyped - at least by me and I'm sure a plethora of other PSXEXTREME fans)...and that sort of gives us a hint that it'll be for PlayStation 3.

Please let it be so...but I'm so sorry to say that Square Enix this generation...just gives such disappointing, sad, or dumb announcement - that I've seriously lost nearly all faith.

There's only that little glimmer of hope where I see Jack Tretton back on the E3 stage after a Birth by Sleep trailer, saying

"BUT the dreamworkers at Square Enix has been hard at work at another amazing KINGDOM! Ladies and gentlemen it is my pleasure to announce Kingdom Hearts III!!!" *crowd erupts* Shows trailer...FOR PLAYSTATION 3 WORLDWIDE.

"Looks like that secret didn't get out huh?"

Denial can be a powerful phenomenon! If they tell themselves a lie for long enough, they become convinced it is an actuality, despite any obvious evidence placed in front of them. 360 fanboy denial is almost strong enough to convince themselves Super Mario Bros. 3 for NES was the first true HD experience.

1)Kingdom hearts 3 as a main iteration in the series will be a console game.

& 2) and most importantly Tetsuya Nomura doesn't do multiplatforms.

I highly doubt KH3 will be a wii exclusive from the inability to handle the crystal tools engine.So that's it right?a basic confirmation KH3 is coming to the PS3?-Unless you guys want to make me laugh and say it's going to be an xbox 360 exclusive....I could use a good laugh go ahead..

Don't worry, there is absolutely no way its going to be on the 360 unless they remove the exclusitivity from the ps3 and that would make no sense... it's not like Square Enix has ever done something that didn't make sense before right?

Another question, which one will release this year? I can't imagine it being KH3 so I'm just hoping its not a mediocre spinoff, though so far I've liked all the handheld games they've put out.

I took that quote to mean that it's definitely NOT KH3 but one of the other two titles that might release in 2010, contrary to the title. Either way, even being an RPG nut I could never get into these games. Say Ben, are you a fan of KH?

I'm not sure how much this would matter but I feel like with certain games it depends on how old you are when it releases, or atleast your state of mind. Trying not to ramble here but I feel like the reason I fell in love with Kingdom Hearts was because it resonated in me so much and I think a great deal of that resulted from my age and values at the time.

Seriously though World I would try to play it again when you get take a break from the stellar titles that recently released and are soon to be released *cough* 3D Dot Game Heroes *cough*

He say's kingdom hearts 3's progress depends on FFvs13's development so i also assume its one of the two other games.

*KHBBS spoilers!*

I believe on of the games will center around aqua,one of the main characters in BBS.At the end of the game she falls into the realm of darkness & is later seen having a conversation with ansem the wise.Which means she has been in there for 12 years =(

I felt like the story wasn't as captivating as in the first one sadly, and I HATED what they did to the battle system in the second one as well. Also I would have preferred if they left the collosium in-tact instead of making the setting gloomy. Those were really my only complaints though.

Kingdom Hearts II was my first time playing a Kingdom Hearts game. I heard when the first one came out and was like "Ehhhh....I don't really care for it - who would care...silly Disney and Final Fantasy big whoop (at the time I had no idea what Final Fantasy was - sounded boring to me).

Then when Kingdom Hearts II release came...it was all hyped and stuff at GameStop was crowded as shit. I was like so "Kingdom Hearts II" "OH YEAAAA DUUUUDDDEEEE HOLY SHIT LIKE THERE'S THIS VALOR SHIT...AND ALL THIS FUN SHIT SAVING THE CASTLE...and STOPPING KINGDOM HEARTS - but you know all about that...hella fun man!!!"

I WAS IN FUCKING LOVE...damn addicted to that game. I never played a game more magical...it was my first Square Enix game as a matter of fact...and wow I played through all of KHII - and loved every single second of it. CORRECTION - millisecond...CORRECTION AGAIN...NANOSECOND. JUST TOO GOOD!!!

Couldn't get through KH2? No, it's one of the few games that made me focus on one game, and one game only until it's completion. I loved it almost as much as I loved KH2. The only real difference for me was probably just that when I played KH1, it was a new experience. Send a tranquilizer my way if KH3 comes out on PS3 exclusively, alright?

I didn't mean I hated the battle system, I actually loved what they did to it. What I hated was the magic system how they replaced it with a bar which one cast of cure would completely wipe out.

I read over at IGN that they are already working one a new one for the PSP. Maybe they'll pull a Kojima and make KH3 for PSP to avoid multiplatform status.

This could be some great news for all the KH fans.

But I'm not liking this new trend happening lately. where some developers/publishers have now started saying that if you want this game, then you had better buy their other completely different IP first.

One frigging IP shouldn't have any bearing what-so-ever on whether a different IP's going to be made.

Soooo, their actually telling me that if I go to their supermarket, that I have to buy their dill pickles first, just to have the right to even think about buying their Chicken broth.

And which they can later tell us...
"Sorry, the dill pickle didn't sell all that well, so.......

.......NO SOUP FOR YOU

And my short answer will be.......

"You can stick your pickles right up where the sun don't shine"

This news made my friggin month, actual word of Kingdom Hearts III.
I as just waiting at the dentist checkin' PSXE on my HTC HD2 and then BAM best news of the year, until now. I just jumped up out of my chair, all the people lookin'at me like whuut. I just pimp slapped em all for fun.

My favorite RPG serie ever, Kingdom Hearts was my first PS2 game and I loved every frame of it, since I hadn't yet played a final fantasy the CG graphics just awed me to no extent, immediately in love with the game, I got really addicted to it. Waiting for KHII was a real pain in the *ss though, still worth every second.

Can't wait for BBS, and of course Versus XIII and finally KHIII. Keep the news coming, I sincerely thank you mister John Shephard.

If this is true, why all the spin offs? Cant people think of art or the creative side of things anymore instead of cash?

It just looks a mess. Having Kingdom Hearts 1, 2, 3 just looks, nice, neat and big! Ever since the spin offs and the fact 2 didn't stand up to the 1st, ive kinda strayed.

The 1st was loaded with heart and love, 2 felt like a recent disney movie, just eye candy and too much action....i still got through it though and think its one of Enix's best games but, again, nothing on the SOFT games.

Negativity aside, i anticipate Kingdom Hearts 3.

I liked Kingdom Hearts II much better than the first, it actually made me wonder why or how I played the 1st one. lol. If you didn't like the 2nd Kingdom Hearts game, you're gonna hate KHIII. I wanna see a Toy Story world. Running around as an action figure or plush of Sora would just be plain awesome, lol.

That's a fair analysis, I think! ^.^ I always look at spin-offs as probable lower quality games that serve the purpose of filling out the story and bridging the gaps. For that reason, I enjoy the spin-offs, but never buy them on release date.

I agree about number 1. I didn't even know it was released until I saw it in a store, and when I saw square and disney characters on the box, I had to buy it. It found its way into my heart the moment I turned it on. After that experience, I bought KH2 on release day. There were parts about KH2 I wanted more from, in terms of story, but I still loved it enough to play through a couple of times. Looking forward to KH3!!!

I've never played any KH, the whole disney thing kinda thew me for a loop, but they got great reviews and lots of people here seem to love them. So this may sound like a dumb question but do you think they are worth picking up and playing or just start with the next installment?

Yeah. They are amazingly fun games. Depending on how used to newer games and high definition experiences you are, it might feel hard to go back to a 8 year old (am I correct on the age???) game, but it's a lot of fun!! Some moments feel a little cheesy, but I just chalk it up to the fact that Sora's just a kid. lol. Definitely worth playing. I mean, come on... Final Fantasy... Disney... MIXED! How freakin' awesome is that?!?!

like Underdog015, there will be some cheesy scenes, so hope that no one else is paying attention when that happens, but other than that it's a great game... KH3 is the main reason why I bought a PS3... :D

KH is one of the most interesting, awesome, and confusing games I've ever seen in a RPG. It is definately unique idea, mending FF and Disney together, but it oddly works in a way that doesn't really make you feel totally retarded for playing. It shows that Japan and America's ideas work pretty well together.
I promise you that is completely worth your time and it is highly addictive. Also, if I were you, it might be a good idea to start from 1 and go in order. Or else, things will NOT make sense one bit. I would NOT just go play KH3 right from the start. Like I said earlier, this series is complicated and confusing in its storyline. The order that would be best to play in is, KH1, KH:Chain of Memories, KH: 358/2 Days, then KH2.
If you don't play KH, I can tell you that you're missing out on a really good series!

Finally, some mention of a KH3 from SE. It was just about time they AT LEAST say it. It better be PS3 exclusive or all hell will break loose. I will, no way, love SE ever again if they do that to KH. They will lose a fan that is currently barely hanging on. KH has been one of my top games ever since KH1 came out and there is no way they should mess this up.
I may be repeating myself, but the fact remains. And the part about Sora being the hero untl the end, makes me VERY happy. Sora is my favorite character out of them all and he BETTER be the main hero in the end. When it comes to KH, I'm picky, hostile, and touchy. Don't send your fans over the edge with a delay or, so help me God, a multiplat... No pressure :D

whether it is going to be good is yet to be tested, as for every Squeeenix game this gen.

I have serious doubt about them ever since Sakaguchi left in 2004 and Nobuo became free lancer, and this gen's Infinite Undiscovery, Last Remnant, Star Ocean 4 and now FF13 further raised my doubt. so...

i didnt even bother playin the portables ones... i jus rather play it on a BIG SCREEN although my tv is only 20" standard tv lol o wells but cant waitil they release kh3 so i can finally go back and beat KH2... too many side stories of kh on the portable got me goin MEH
