Don't Be Surprised At An Eventual Just Cause 3 Announcement
If you're having a blast with Just Cause 2, you'll be happy to know that developer Avalanche Studios is poised and ready to deliver a third.
As reported by ThatVideoGame Blog, series designer Christofer Sundberg says fans "shouldn't be surprised" if they eventually announce a third iteration in the new franchise. He says they're definitely interested in pushing forward with the open-world, destruction-based concept and added that the studio "lives and breathes the Just Cause franchise, and handing that over to another developer would spoil it." As usual, sales numbers tend to rely on review scores and Sundberg says the team is excited about the positive scores they've seen thus far:
"Just seeing all those review scores coming in was fantastic, especially from the sites that scored the first Just Cause a little bit lower than we hoped. That’s the most satisfying thing for us, but we’re delighted also that the game got to number one in the charts in the UK. It was released on the Thursday last week, so it’s great that the game’s going so well."
While it's certainly true that JC2 is better than the original (in our eyes, anyway), the question is whether or not the total sales number will be high enough to warrant a third entry. At this rate, it certainly appears the late-March release will be a big success and for that, we should applaud Avalanche. By the way, you can expect our review towards the end of the week...playing it now.

I already bought everything on the list but,
Street Fighter, Demon's Souls, and Dragon Age.
And I had no intentions of playing those three anyway. Thought about Demon's Souls, but from what I heard, it would cost me the game and two or three controllers.

Just Cause 3 doesn't need to come out for at least 2-3 years though. JC2 is just so huge and entertaining, it can last 100+ hours. Then there's the DLC potential for this game. It shouldn't just be set aside quickly when a new title comes out in a year like the first one.

Oh, and for all the Canadians out there; I bought my copy at Wal-Mart because it's only $39.93 there right now. How do you beat that?! =)

What gets me is that action, open worlds like this are just fantastic, but they always make me think "why are no rpgs like this?"
The world in JC2 is HUGE. Would be great to be able to level up, buy homes, take over territories and what not...

Thankfully you will eventually have the ability to "extract" for free to any location you've already claimed in the world by simply calling the arms dealer. The world is massive, it took me more than 10minutes in a fighter jet to fly across it.

We have so many coffee joints here from Starbucks, Tully's, and Seattle's Best Coffee.
Only in Seattle can you be sitting in a coffee shop, sitting down by a window, and look across the street and see the exact same coffee shop. I'll be damned if you don't see yourself across the street in the window looking back at yourself. (Had to throw in the Primer/time travel reference to bring it full circle for you)

I am playing JC2 right now, it's very fun and passes the time very quickly.
