Mass effect is the best RPG i played this generation , and it's the best W-RPG of all time IMO.

I agree. Mass Effect (both one and two) is hands down one of the greatest games I've ever played in a long time. Got them both on my PC so I don't really need PS3 versions, but would be awesome of everyone else could experience how great the games are.

Definitely. I'm still plodding through FF XIII but I enjoyed Mass Effect 2 a LOT. Awesome game, and the best RPG I've played in a long while.

I just finished Mass effect on the PC, and while I agree it's a good game, I wouldn't call it an RPG, and I definitely wouldn't call it the best of all time. To me it's more like a FPS with some RPG-like elements added to it, and besides it's best suited to play on the PC anyway. Oh how I long for Diablo III, now that WILL be the best RPG of all time :-)

SC _were_ great games. I'm not convinced about Conviction (pun noticed but not intended). I haven't been following it closely, though, since they're claiming it's exclusive. Everything I've heard makes it sound like it's not really Splinter Cell.

Oh... it's Splinter Cell... you can play it just like you played Chaos Theory... or you can go and use the new stuff... but don't think you can go in guns blazing... you can't take to many 7.62 rounds... in fact you can't take more than 2 and 1 usually finishes you... luckly most only have peeshooters with 5.56

In my opinion, Mass Effect is one of the best W-RPG I have experienced. I wouldn't mind seeing it on the PS3, although I'm not sure I would re-buy it. Depends on if I have the spare money.

Always liked Splinter Cell, but I'm not sure I'll buy Conviction right after the release. I may even wait for it to come to the PS3, IF that even happens, before I buy it.

I really don't think the PS3 needs any of these Xbox exclusives. Knowing these companies, they will just port the same version to the PS3 without much improvement(Although I hope I'm wrong). I say leave exclusives exclusive. But thats just me, I like exclusives better than multi-platform titles. Even if it is for the Xbox.

I have trouble affording $60 games for my ps3 (still don't have uc2, heavy rain, or ffxiii)

So in that case I can't justify $300 purchase for a system that uses old tech to play games, even if those games are really good, there just aren't enough to justify such a purchase. Especially knowing that most of the time it would only collect dust.

If you have a semi-decent PC, you can play Mass Effect 2 on it. This is exactly why I can't justify buying ANY Xbox games or an Xbox. What I enjoy on PS3, esp exclusives, I can get and whatever the Xbox game I want is usually a PC game as well.

I did ME2 on PC and don't regret it. I kept it at 1680x1050 with FSAA and loved the hell out of it. Very well developed game. I'd love to give it a spin on the PS3, too. The odds of you making all the game choices are pretty slim and most of them DO have an effect on how the game unfoils. It'll even change the ending!

I met him at my friend's stag party last year. He came down from Edmonton, and we mostly talked about other games. But he did say he worked on Dragon Age.

I think he's a character modeler or animator of some sort. Sorry, didn't get into too much detail about work. We were at a stag, after all. When the girls show up, conversation turns into howling... =)

Splinter Cell on the PS3 = BUY!. That would save me a lot of money, I love Splinter Cell and my current 360 isn't working that well so I was gonna try to buy the Splinter Cell 360 bundle. Nobody dose stealth better then Splinter Cell!!!!!.

I'm actually 27, but wasn't able to start serious gaming until about 7 years ago and so I tried both splinter cell and mgs. mgs4 was my first mg.

So as an unbiased player, mgs4 for the win.

splinter cell is still a lot of fun tho.

There's always exceptions to every generalization. Fact is most people who never played or got a chance to play MGS and MGS2, usually younger gamers who joined the frey after PS1 always went for the copy cat. Splinter Cell.

SC has better stealth gameplay than MGS (except maybe 4, which copied many elements from SC and added others).

MGS4 is a much better game than any SC, even Chaos Theory. I'd probably say the same about the other MGS games as well, especially if one accounts for older tech.

Kojima deserves all the props for inventing the genre, but SC made it work better.

I would love for mass effect 1 & 2 to show up on ps3 but the thing is I don't think I would buy them considering I have beaten ME1 3 times and ME2 2 times. So unless they bundled them together for a low price I don't see myself buying

If they do bring Mass Effect to the ps3 as long as they fix up all the technical issues with it I think I would be willing to give it another shot but as it is.. I just really didn't enjoy any of the time I spent playing the game.

Seriously, 360 crowd should be allowed to keep their mediocre shooters. They don't have anything else going for them in the coming months or year. When Mass Effect, Splinter Cell and yet another Halo are the only exclusives that they have to look forward too its kinda makes you pity them.

The MassEffect series is fun but it doesn't even compare to the enjoyment a TRUE RPG gives me. Splinter Cell was always IMO a poor man's MGS but the latest one looks interesting, I'll end up getting it off Steam when it becomes $30 after a month or so of release.

Never played ME but I will be willing to give it a shot when they come out with 1 & 2 on a single blu ray. I did "acquire" it for PC (Queue LV to rip on me) my old computer wouldn't play it. By the time there's a part 3 we will have it, but I'm not gonna hurt myself trying to get it.

Splinter Cell, meh it looked really drab and unpretty at E3. I'd be surprised if it didn't show up as well later.

Although I can't think of a game worth getting a 360 (maybe Halo, but I'm not crazy into FPS's, so Killzone and Resistance has that department amply filled for me), I will say if you already have a 360 (or a gaming pc), Mass Effect 2 is totally worth getting.

I'm not so convinced if it's an RPG, because honestly, it feels a lot like Ratchet & Clank (especially like ACIT), but with more decision-making. It's amazing how much content is fit in to this game, and while not excelling in any one department (the shooting/action's a bit wonky and innane, the story and voice-acting can be a bit cheesy at times, upgrading seems subtle at best, the visuals do get slightly generic, and the video cut-scenes are cruddy), overall the game is very fun and enjoyable, and keeps me coming back to it. I didn't play the first one, and I think all the hoopla about the sequel is definitely exaggerated, but it still has my recommendation.

Ben - I am very hungry for a racing game, and after all those outstanding reviews, and a few friends telling me about it, I caved in.

I am level 15 or so, and I grew bored of that title really quick. So many things are broken.

If the Mass Effect Series in particular makes its way to the PS3, that'd be awesome for PS3 owners who wanted to play ME, but couldn't because they don't have an XBOX (or don't want to play it on the PC for that matter...).

Personally for me, I can't think of another system other than the XBOX 360 that the ME Series belongs to (I'm a multi-console owner, I love and play all my consoles equally, and I have many of the "big name" games).

It's like the MGS series; both PS3 and 360 owners are going to get a brand new title in the MGS Series (I know it's a spinoff, don't worry), but really, if they go down this route, I'll always associate Metal Gear Solid and PlayStation in my head =)

LOL Jawknee I know...but there wasn't any screen tearing, the graphics is okay, its got your favorite Unreal Engine backing it up though ;). But this one doesn't have the plastic look we mutually hate with a passion.

vicious54, you got that right. My main gripe about the whole game is that complicated sophisticated intricate gameplay very common with Tom Clancy games. Just like Ghost Recon and some others, you need to use a whole lot of buttons to perform a simple action that could be easily done in Uncharted with just a button. Its something about UBISOFT, ACII also requires a number of buttons pressed for a simple move. The gameplay reminded me of Ghost Recon and just put me off, I can't even beat the demo.

Arvis, I was part of those people making noise about this game too but am disappointed, maybe the demo is wrong but I highly doubt.

The only game i like with Unreal is Bioshock an i think its cause the art style kinda overs it up.

I got dissapointed with the Slinter Cell demo a bunch of people say that game graphs looked better than GoW3 and Uncharted 2 and in the end is only sub hd .

lol didn't they say going exclusive would make the game better? seriously, in that case they should go with the Ps3.

people saying that about the graphics because they are xbots and have never actually seen hd, they think 576p is crytal clear, one day they will see 1080p and go into denial mode about how their 360 can do that it just chooses not to because that would distract from gameplay.

finished the demo twice , hmm despise the story the game reminds me more of Manhunt than MGS or the old Splinter Cell games I wonder if the fans of the franchise are going to be happy with that .

Well I DID buy a 360 to play Mass Effect. One of those cheap on-sale arcade ones for $150. Got my Mass Effect for $20 and was pretty excited to play a Bioware RPG.

Let's just say that if I hadn't discovered Lost Odyssey (thanks Ben), I'd have seriously been pissed.

I certainly wouldn't buy either game at full price, but I would consider buying them when they drop down to like 20 bucks or something. I've only bought one game at full price this year, and that's GOW3. I would rather buy like 4 PSN games than get a mediocre game. I don't think Splinter cell is going to be anything special.

The difference is that people have blatantly said that Conviction is not coming to the PS3. I think what they mean here is that future Splinter Cell games will be coming to the PS3.

I'm all for Splinter Cell, but i just cant get into ME or ME2. Bioware used to make great games i liked such as Jade Empire, but JE wasnt full of billion pages of superfluous dialog and a self-gratifying sex scene.

But if other people enjoy it why not port it to ps3?

ME would be great to have on the ps3. do to the possibilities bioware could do with the ps3 hardware, that they couldn't do on the 360. another thing is disc space of the blue ray. which would allow bioware of course to put more data on to one disc without having to compress really that much at all or ya no disc swapping lol. but knowing M$ they would pay millions of dollars to bioware to keep ME on 360. cause im pretty sure M$ isn't going to allow one of their huge exclusive to go mulitiplate.

now splinter cell conviction i could careless if it went to ps3. cause in my opinion splinter cell 1 is the only good one the rest were garbage and boring.

Developers want to sell as many of their games as possible. If their game were to stay exclusive to the 360, they would fervently say so.

To have them come out with these telling "no comment" answers, only causes hesitation to purchase their games in hopes of it coming out on the PS3.

Of course they're coming to the PS3.

The real question is, with the gap between 360s and PS3s out there closing fast, how much does M$ have to pay out for these exclusives? It has to keep rising.

Anyone want a M$ foot massage? Ask Ubisoft....they probably have a few vouchers left.

My wife's cousin let me borrow Mass Effect 2 and I have LOVED this game from the very start! It is unlike any game I have played on the PS3. I really enjoy the Sci-fi aspect of the game. How cool is it to be Commander of your own Starship?? VERY VERY COOL!!! Admittedly I have never been into RPG type games before but this game has tons of action to go around. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone to play Mass Effect 2. It has me hooked. XBOX 360 is a fine gaming console and a good thing to have for certain games that the PS3 does not offer... like Gears of War!

Since I own multiple consoles, I'd rather keep any of my game's series on 1 console.
I hate seeing 2 games of a series made for 1 machine, then 3rd is only on another machine & then the 4th goes right back on the first machine again.
That just frigging screws up my collections, (not to mention it gives the look that something's really missing there too).

So, I want all my Tom Clancy's staying on the PS3 where they belong.(damn you MS & SC: Conviction)

Now for ME3, I'd want to keep it on my 360 since the 1st two already started with it.
But, if there's going to be plenty of extra's for the PS3, then I'd certainly switch the ME series over to my PS3 instead.

And I totally expect Splinter Cell COnviction to arrive on PS3 in the not-to-distant future.

I definitely want to play ME2. Don't care to own a Xbox 360 and my PC can't play it, so yeah...bring it our way. But, I think they should put both games in one box or one disc if it fits and sell that for $50 or $60. Man, xbox exclusives are the same when you think about it, armored soldiers fighting space armies...lol...I don't know if gears is like this. Anyway, as far a Splinter Cell goes, I don't give a f*** and some. Unlike Ben and some of you on here, Splinter Cell is nothing special, but that is because I never got into them. The new one might be fun or not, but I could care less about it. My anticipation for it is pposite of my anticipation for GOWIII to release. They should bring over Alan Wake, I would love to play that too.

The 360 is been there done that for me. None of their games are worth buying another 360 for. Allen Wake looks boring, Gears is boring and ugly, Mass Effect is just more of the same martian shooting and Fable is effing lame. Most of the people i know personally who like Fable hold bad tastes in general. Nothing personal, but your not going to convince me that any of those games live up to the hype that surrounds them. You like them, that's good. I'm glad you enjoy them more then I but we just simply disagree. :)

I don't consider a system that uses last gen tech(DVD9), that dies after a year or less or is the cause of gimping of good games a good system. Its been a blight on the gaming community and is holding this generation back by giving developers a reason to half has most of their games and rip us off with DLC. We don't see innovation on the 360. Only mediocrity.

Again, the Xbox is pointless to me. I agree with Jawknee about the whole RROD deal and quite frankly can't understand how such a limp system could SURVIVE! This is the same country where people make out on suing McD's for spilling their hot coffee in their lap because they didn't realize it was.. HOT?! Yikes.

That said, spending $100 on a last-gen Nvidia/ATI card on PC that is not ancient will yield better graphics, more content and most importantly more updates than any Xbox game can fathem.

I can't ever hold someones' taste in gaming against them despite how I feel about it. No different than peoples' preference in music.

Splinter Cell has always been hit and miss. They seem to alternate; 1 was pretty good. 2 was not as good, more of the same, really. 3 was amazing! 4 was pure last minute garbage designed to fill fiscal obligations for the execs.

So who knows. Splinter Cel 4 is a craps shoot.

ME series... like Bioware will ignore 35million PS3ers.

I like Red Faction Guerilla and I know alot of people who hate that., doesn't kill my fun. If Splinter Cell did come to PS3, I would rent it, but I am not a fan, thus I wouldn't buy it.

Man I couldn't agree with you guys more. I have this friend who keeps telling me to get an Xbox, but I am like why?...I can play all the same games on my PS3 except the exclusives and the only one I want to play is Mass Effect 2. I was even considering buying a cheap Xbox to play it, but I was like, Hell no...this is a crappy machine and it would only collect dust over time. He thinks the Xbox 360 is the better system because his other friends only play Xbox 360 too, even though he has a PS3. When he said that to me, I could see why my girlfriend didn't like him. His view on topics are terrible. She hates him for one reason, I dislike him for this reason. He even said MW2 is better on Xbox because of the controls so I should get a Xbox. Yes that is an subjective opinion, but you guys can agree that the controls are horrible. I hate MW2, so why would I buy a Xbox so I could play it online with him. I don't hate the Xbox, but people commitment to an inferior product irratates me.

ME, yeah they have refused to say no, but SPC they have said no many times.
every time there asked they normally say "splinter cell convition is a xbox and pc exclusive."

I have played Uncharted 2 and GoW 3 I am still playing. They are BOTH Fantastic games that I loved! I have not played Heavy Rain yet but will get to it eventually.

I don't really care if any Xbox 360 exclusives ever migrate over to PS3. I have the 360 as a compliment to my PS3 it just opens up options to play the great games that are exclusive to the 360. Anyone who has never played Gears of War should not put it down. That game is as good as any game the PS3 has to offer. Mass Effect 2 is also in my opinion one of the best game experiences out there if you are into Sci-fi. Right on par with the best PS3 has to offer. If I had to choose only one console I would of course choose the PS3 but I don't have to limit myself so why should I...

id have an xbox they are after all cheap (wich is subjective if your gonna buy the recharchable battery packs and such) the ONLY reason i dont spend money on an xbox is that those things break down....A...LOT....nu huh, until they are more reliable , i wont touch them unless i get a really really cheap one..

but i agree, gears is a game that should be tried by everyone, and mass effect too but that one comes in pc also, runs pretty good and actually aming with a mouse is far preferable than the analogs

no reason to not own both systems but i wont spend money on soemthing i know breaks down consistently for most people that buy em

Both would be great, but if they don't, no problem, the PC is there & i'm sure to build a new 1 soon & i already own a steamy version of ME1 ...

I don't have enough time to play all my games, so don't bother about anything, i'll own the best on PS3 even if i never touch them (at least not soon) ...

ME1 and 2 played them obth, and although both have their quirks (inventory on 1, no xploration,probing for mats is lame, id rather have the mako back :) they are both awsome games, loved them , and anxiously wating on the 3rd one, played them on pc though, on my 32 inch lcd and the games look really nice, especially then 2nd one, where you can see the textures of the suits changing and can edit colors and such

stil running tru gow3 and i never quite got done with mgs4 i always go back to it at some point , uc2 i have it....i played almost thru the end....started it again because i ddidnt wanna end it lol, i kno im weird like that...

Splinter Cell is comming to the PS3... have no worries about that... Conviction... Microsoft had this annonced way back at X05... it was only a blip and X06 it was officially shown... Microsoft has put a great deal of backing into this game... it's unlikely to go anywhere... unlike GTA DLC which were exclusive untill the loan was paid off... so for you who will enjoy it you should thank your Xbox friends for loving the two episodes
