Download Lost Planet 2 Demo, Get Exclusive Weapon
If you're into massive mechs and alien environments, you're likely prepared to purchase Lost Planet 2.
But if you're not yet convinced, you'll want to check out the multiplayer demo that should hit the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace some time soon. And if the mere sampling of the big title isn't enough incentive, how's about an exclusive weapon? According to Joystiq, Capcom has confirmed that the "MG SP" can be yours in the final game provided there's a save file of the demo on your machine. This will be the only way to obtain this gun so if you want the complete Lost Planet 2 experience, you'll basically have no choice but to download the upcoming demo. The MG SP can "stagger opponents with a single shot and prevent them from squeezing off shots of their own with subsequent hits." That ought to come in handy, right? The game in question will be available on May 18; it was delayed earlier but we believe in giving developers all the time necessary to produce a quality product.
It may have to compete with the likes of Red Dead Redemption and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands in May, but there's little doubt that Lost Planet 2 will be popular amongst the mech aficionados.

I hope there are a significant amount of these gamers out there. Developers and publishers will rethink their strategy to making a complete game.

I bet a company could make a huge viral splash by releasing dlc codes gradually over the course of months before the release. Limited Edition items that only the receivers of the first 25,000 codes get to unlock. Ever.
Sorry, ranting and thinking out loud again. Sounds fun, though.

When they announced that contents have to be cut from PS3 version because of DVD size, yet STILL want to maintain the exclusive content on Xbox version. I lost ALL interest.
Why would a crappy gun make me want to buy the game now?

OK, thanks for the heads-up.
Yeah, let me keep it a little longer, been so frigging busy working & running my motorcycle club, I haven't gotten to play through it as much as I would've liked to.
And besides, by returning it to you after you moved, it will be this cheap guy's way of sending you a housewarming gift, LOL
You still got my addy so you can send me your new one, right?

That is my wish, but I've only got a little over 1400 games out of 1000's already out there.
And unless I win the lottery, I seriously doubt I've been making anything more than a very large dent towards all my collections.
Jawknee,
Hell, with 532 games in my PS1 collection, I'm still only 1/4 of the way there, especially since there's around 2000.
And out of my original Xbox & PS2, I've only got close to 300 for each one, out of around 1800 for each.
And the seeing that I've already pushed the ripe old age of 57...there's so little time left....(& so little money too, LOL)

Third person shooters I like, though the SP demo didn't really impress me, and I play games for single player, since that got cut down to dvd size, I sigh and say never mind.
The idea of giving people free things for playing demos is good though.
Although I might have the money for it, Job interview this sunday! I'll still not get it.

the 1st demo was coop & even if a bit repetitive action, quite nice environment. now after seeing the latest released games, the GFX seem dated but i remember having fun with the demo, i just hated to see that same monster face as on the videos.
even if GOW3 demo too had a lot of video coverage i liked it better.
I liked LP1, i tried a PC version & LP2 seem quite OK, dunno if i'll wait for price cut-down, i'm sure i'll download that demo to see if things get better.
cheers!

Crapcom pretty much assured ill never buy one of their games again(unless its another Tatsunoko vs Crapcom installment) with their "oh sorry, we had to cut content because the DVD is too small, but hey, well be extra nice and sell it back to you for $4.99!" scheme.
