Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo Ships With Nier?

Update: Obviously...April Fool's. Nothing else needs be said. ;)

Original Story:

What we're hearing doesn't really make much sense, but it sort of gels with past news.

A little while ago, Square-Enix vaguely mentioned the idea of a Final Fantasy VII remake at their official Twitter page; after which, the place exploded. Then, S-E president Yoichi Wada finally confirmed they'd "consider" a remake of the beloved role-playing classic, which is the best news we've heard yet. But perhaps it's all a facade; perhaps they haven't been gauging interest and teasing us...maybe they already have a certain project going, and we'll get a sneak peek with the upcoming Nier. The latter is an action/RPG that, as far as we know, has absolutely nothing to do with the Final Fantasy universe. However, according to an inside source, who reminds everyone that he's not "confirming anything," it seems there will be a big surprise in the Nier package. Here's what he said:

"People will probably want Nier, if only because of the FFVII stuff."

I had to ask for some sort of clarification but the response was a little vague:

"I can't be sure myself. They won't really tell us, but it has something to do with FFVII. Don't know if it'll be playable or not."

Many years back, we saw a tech demo that really got everyone talking, and then we got the movie, "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children." Some time has passed since then and all of a sudden, they want to drop a glimpse of something related to FFVII...into Nier? Why? Wouldn't it make more sense to put it into Final Fantasy Versus XIII, or something? Or are we only talking about another tease? Or bad information? No answers anywhere right now but even so, it's a little exciting...

Who knows. All this talk of big announcements at E3. I mean what if they've been toying with us for years now and utilized that time to create this remake. Killzone 2 took 5 years of development didn't it? Maybe FFVII remake has been going through a similar process too dish out probably the best looking game to date? Maybe all this toying with the no's, maybe's, and the all to infamous "we'll consider" as of recently, was used as there move to keep the development of this remake hidden? If Sony is bragging about big announcements and only suggesting that these recent announcements "are just icing on the cake," this could suggest a HUGE announcement from Square Enix and Sony. I mean, we're talking astronomical. How many people would go nuts of there was an announcement or even possible gameplay footage of this game at E3? I think the whole show would blow and any one else would forget about the entire show about this. This remake is just that big. (feel fre to disagree). I mean how many of you would go nuts of there was confirmation of a remake?

Just so you all know, which I'm pretty sure you all will know, this is purely hope and wishes from a FF junkie, nothing to be taken to lightly haha But the possibilites are there, and Sony and Square Eniz should know the amount of potential customers they have here, especially with many being introduced to the series in the west. All those possible console movers and video game shakers...I highly doubt Sony hasn't considered this.

But again, just being your typical, hopeful fanatic of the game haha

I would sooner believe that Ben and Arnold were going to Vegas tonight to tie the knot! :P

I would sooner believe that Microsoft was going to add compatibility to play PS3 games on the XBOX 360, while Sony removes compatibility to play PS3 games on the PS3.

I'm still sick from the "pre" April fools joke from the other day, and I think PSXE is too. I don't think this is a joke as much as it is a very wishful prediction. Nonetheless, don't you guys take anything too seriousley for the next few days.

I was fooled a few years ago when the FFVII remake was "confirmed", and a little entertained. But since then the whole April fools tradition has really just made me think less of all the gaming sites participating.

That's what I've been thinking. What if there has been a team working on the remake of FF7 ever since the tech demo? It's a possibility, lol. Like all the guys that worked on the tech demo were back at their work stations completing the next cut scene? lol. Hell, if they end up remaking it, I want a Movie Gallery, and a beastery. That would kick ass. I wonder if they would keep a lot of the overhead cameras or make the game feel more like a movie. Either would be great to me.

could easily be a joke, however either way I keep saying that they've been working on the ff7 remake for a while now and I expect them to announce its release date at e3 this year. I expect it will go on sale just before christmas.

Although it should be known that all 13 voices in my head live in a land of subterfuge, mystery, and deceit. So they always twist every statement into some conspiratorial theory.

Jami I have to agree with you. Out of all the things to tease about FF should never be part of ANY joke. We take that franchise deathly serious and with all this news of will they or won't they and FF13 not being what everyone hoped for not to mention they need to give us something to make up for the spirits within. Advent Children was superb but spirits was garbage but I am willing to forgive ALL transgressions for a remake. I'd joke about religion before I even thought about joking about Final Fantasy.

I remember when an April Fool's Day joke used to be pretty harmless. Guys and gals you all remember. Remember being in grade school snd someone telling you that you zipper was down or your shoes were untied and when you went to correct it they yelled April Foooooooooools? Well, I guess that was then and this is now and now the jokes play with your heart and mind lol. If this is a trap I can see this being used as one of the harshest pzzles in the next Saw movie. I can see it now. "I want to play a game" inside this package of Nier there may or may not be a playable demo of a remade FF7 and you can either buy it nd try it or you can pass and never have access to it.

LOL ok my mind went a little far with that but please don't let this be a cruel joke. Sounds like not many people falling for it if it is anyway but I am a newb here and I WANT to believe.

Very poor taste as an April Fool's joke. You should be ashamed at stooping so low.

The last "good" April Fool's joke I remember was PSMs Valkyrie Wylde story, the one where the female protagonist was nude (with the exception of boots and twin holsters) through the entire game. It was obviously fake, having used retouched Tomb Raider graphics and giving April 1st as a release date. But what was so immensely hilarious was when I saw it on the nightly national news in a story about parents being upset that this game was being made. Looks like Fox News isn't the first network to run a story without validating its credibility.

I don't think it could be a April Fool's joke. Ben made it pretty clear that it was wrong of PS3Clan to quote Kaz Hirai, but then again here Ben is quotting an unspecific person, so maybe. But then again he also said "it sorta gels with past news", but I don't see what news it can gel with other than the April's Fools joke.

Quoting an 'inside source' or 'sources close to' is perfectly legitimate in an April Fool. Making up quotes that you then attribute to a specific named individual, that's not cool and not much of an April Fool, unless you consider the one making up the quote the fool when they are sued?

why would we need a demo of a ps1 game?
i think its safe to say every gamer has played FFVII, if they havent they should be stringed up by their pupils!
