Online Beta Codes For LBP Sent Out
It's always interesting when you receive voucher codes for unknown beta tests. It's just a little frustrating when you can't yet use the code...
We've been told by several readers that Sony has sent out some LittleBigPlanet beta vouchers to certain people; the only problem is, we have no idea what beta test they're talking about, and it certainly isn't active just yet. It's an "open invitation" but the e-mail isn't really all that specific; all it does is outline what a beta test is, and how they want to "tweak" the online gameplay. Now, this could just be for random online activity with LBP; i.e., there's no separate beta test for a new feature - like the one for Water - but that would be pretty boring. Anyway, the message reads:
"Welcome! You've been selected to participate in our ongoing LittleBigPlanet online beta. We're always striving to improve our online experience--and whether it's tweaks in gameplay, functionality or server adjustments, we need your help in making sure everything looks and plays just right. Included is your beta code to provide you access to our online beta. Thanks again."
It's an "ongoing beta" so perhaps the entire online mode is always in some sort of permanent test position (which would sort of make sense). But as we all know, Media Molecule continually looks for ways to expand and enhance the LBP universe, and we're wondering if this not-yet-active beta has something to do with a big new feature or multiple features. Guess we'll just have to wait until they clarify or until the code goes active...

oh, what i would give to have some proper 2D platformers for the ps3, even if there on PSN.
that would be the perfect genre for the minis!
