Pre-Order Incentive Details For The Forgotten Sands

Ah, pre-order incentives. These days, it all depends on the retailer so you kinda need to know who's offering what.

According to Joystiq, Ubisoft has revealed the pre-order bonuses for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, which is slated to arrive in about one month's time. The following applies to both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions: if you drop your cash at GameStop, you'll get the "Forgotten Arena" gameplay mode, which may be preferable as it adds a bit of longevity to the gameplay. But if you pre-order at Amazon, you'll get five bucks off the price plus a free Prince of Persia mobile game. Lastly, a Best Buy pre-order will net you a downloadable SandWraith character skin, which is based on the Prince's memorable transformation from Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. We're wondering if such incentives really make you put a deposit on a game, or if you only do that when you're actually in great anticipation of buying said game. Either way, publishers will continue to give you motivation to make an early purchase decision; such is the way of business.

Anyway, The Forgotten Sands is definitely on our "most wanted" list for May, especially because we rarely see a sub-par Prince effort.

While I have no interest in this, the extras aren't really what drive me to make a preorder. The only thing that could do that is wanting the crap out of it, and/or facing the possibility that they may run out of copies at the store.

The best incentive: not paying five bucks tax.

Amazon always has the better deals because there's usually money saving involved. The golden guns with Red Dead Redemption is a nice perk with the $10 though.

I'm going to pass on this PoP pre-order as well based on having played the first ps3 release. My daughter liked it, but I found it to be a little too mellow for my taste.

Who here honestly is getting this Day1?

I'm going to assume only Ben but he isn't paying for it so that doesn't count.

After having bought (and enjoyed) Assassin's Creed II, Ubisoft let me down with their DLC which could have been in the game to begin with. Hopefully they don't do that for this title. The Amazon preorder is a little enticing but I don't see it as a must have or day 1 purchase.

I'll wait and see on this one since I'm never a fan of PoP and I never finished a single one even though I played every series except the PoP with the white girl.

Double Pass. The ending to the last one pissed me off and RedDead is going to be taking up all my time.

I've never like Prince of Persia. Rock Star will get my money for Ubisoft does it if ever does. I swore off paying for Ubisoft games for good.

I can wait. Don't have enough money to spend on this game just yet. The bonuses used to make me pre-order games, but now I've lost the interest of the extras.

Though paying $5 and getting some extra stuff is nice, seeing how you don't have to pay Tax. Look at it as paying $5 Tax before the game comes out and getting rewarded for it. Same price, more content. I don't mind developers doing this kind of thing. Although I do wish all content was in the game to begin with...

I have a feeling he would do a great job cooking my Tombstone pizzas and mowing my yard.

If you were on the forums you'd understand where I'm going with that statement.
