PSXE Readers: The Real God Of War Will Take Your Questions
Kratos is one of the most effective, well-designed characters in the history of video games. But there must be a great deal of humanity behind such creations, which is why SCEA turned to TC Carson for the voice of Kratos, and to Joseph Gatt for the body and movements.
As you can see by his lengthy resume, Gatt has been involved in movies, TV, games and even dance for quite some time. He landed the Kratos mo-cap actor role for God of War II, returned for the recent third installment, and has also lent his talents to the likes of Lair, Driver 2 and Driv3r, and Sony's popular SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs franchise. He even had a hand in another PlayStation 3 exclusive masterpiece, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, so this guy gets around. Now, he has offered to answer some questions and we've decided, as we are indeed a PlayStation-oriented website and our readers are just about as informed as we are (in some respects), that you should provide these questions. Simply place your question(s) below in the Comments section; if you see one you like, vote for it by replying to it and feel free to add one of your own. We'll take a bunch of 'em and see what Gatt has to say. We'll keep this story stickied for a few days.
Being the true lifeblood of Kratos, a character most mortal men sorta envy (if only for his physical attributes), has got to be pretty darn cool. And we imagine you guys have some good questions for the man who helped bring the God of War to life. So fire away!
P.S. For the record, Gatt will be making appearances at the upcoming WizardWorld Comicon and Comicon San Diego, so if you're in the area...

1- Did you have to wear that loin cloth during the mocap for Kratos?
2- Do you have any insider info on the possible return of Kratos?
3- Are you doing mocap for the Thor movie, or are you doing some actual live acting. (If so, say "Hi" to Natalie for me.)
4- What was it like fronting Midnight Oil all those years?
I know that last one isn't relevant, but I'll be damned if he doesn't look like a young Peter Garrett.

I've played some GOW3, OMG!! Epic to the power of 50!!!
I don't see how Dante could raise the bar. I heard it gets a little repetitive and mediocre towards the end of Dante's Inferno?
Hey World, was there something in Dante or about that game specifically that tipped the scales?

Kratos' story is also pretty thin compared to the plot twists and history lessons in Inferno. Bottom line, I just enjoyed the experience more personally.

I guess what I'm saying is, if you can find a game like that it won't matter what anyone else says and it's a great thing.

A lot of dumb/stupid questions here, wtf?
Seriously, you're making psxe look bad
Nothing personal
---
1. If it was up to you, would you continue the GOW series?
2. When you play the games you have been involved with what impresses you the most? The cinematics? the gameplay? the realism?
3. Kratos or Snake? Who's more badass, and why?

1. What is your diet? Can you afford to spoil yourself with chocolate or at McDonald's now and then?
2. How often do you work out and what are some of the exercises you do to maintain your physique? Might help for some gym enthusiasts here.
And just a few questions about his line of work in video games.
1. What did you do before you got into the film, television and video game industry?
2. How did you get into the entertainment industry? Was it a big break or lucky chance?
3. What was your first big project in the video games industry that you worked in?
4. How does it feel to be modelled for the most bad-ass and epic character in video game history? I'm speaking, of course, of Kratos from God of War.
And finally, a silly question he might enjoy.
1. Has there ever been a time where you were sick of working out and just let yourself go? And if so, is there a picture for a side-by-side comparison?
Cheers.
BTW Ben, great article and way to get people involved and interactive on this site. Keep up the excellent work. You're doing a helluva service to us Playstation and video game fans.

i remember stig saying they have gone through multiple endings and had to change, and shorten the chosen ending because of time restraints.
they promised us GOW3 would be a ending to the series, and would not end in a cliffhanger.
well, they lied!
GOW3s ending is as much of a cliffhanger as GOW2s ending, and to be honest it raises more questions than it answers.
now i dont exactly call that clarifying a series.
normally when you finalize a series your suppose to tie up all loose ends, not create and leave a gaping hole!

1) My brother wants to make it into the game industry as a sound designer. He going to school this fall to get a degree in the field? Do you have any tips on how to make it into the game industry? I know its a different field but maybe you have some good strategies.
2) What's after Kratos for you? Any film work, or strictly more games?
3) Are you a gamer and if so, what system do you play and what's your favourite game? (favourite with a 'u' because I'm totally Canadian, eh)
Thanks, man. Keep up the great work and thanks for a decade of Kratos!

1 - You obviously love action games, but what about more relaxed family-friendly games such as LittleBigPlanet?
2 - If you enjoy LittleBigPlanet, have you created any levels, such as a God Of War themed level?
3 - What was your favorite memory when playing LittleBigPlanet.
If you don't own LittleBigPlanet;
1 - After you did the motion capture for God Of War 3 and got to play it, were you surprised to see your character doing amazing stunts and moves? What exactly were you thinking when you first saw Kratos in God Of War 3?
That's all for now.
