Demon's Souls To See A "Limited Launch" In Europe
It was one of last year's best and arguably the best RPG of the generation thus far. And now, European gamers know the date when they'll finally have a shot at it.
Although SCEE and Atlus had never before stated any intentions of releasing Demon's Souls in the European region, it's still gonna happen: Namco Bandai Partners has officially announced that the award-winning and ultra-challenging role-playing adventure will release for the PlayStation 3 on June 25. It will be launched exclusively as part of a special package known as the "Black Phantom Edition," which will include the soundtrack, art book and strategy guide. However, they want to remind you that this will be a "special limited launch" for Europe, which means that if you're intrigued, you had best pounce on it ASAP. Said Oliver Comte, vice president of marketing, sales and publishing at Namco Bandai Partners:
"We’re very pleased to be working with SCEI to bring the fantastic Demon’s Souls to gamers outside of Japan and North America. The game is exactly the kind of quality experience with which we are continuing to grow the NAMCO BANDAI Games portfolio of titles, and we will be working hard to ensure it’s at least as much of a success in our markets as it has already proven to be elsewhere."
From Software really did a bang-up job with this one; they gave us a truly unique RPG (which is tough to do), and they really made it shine. We still say it had a definite balance issue but many don't agree. And it's great that Euro gamers will, at long last, get a chance to play one of the best titles out there.

but the package looks incredible, new color of cover art, hardcover artbook, new hard cover guide with new cover art, and a nicer slip case!

It's not a wrpg either
It's somewhere in between, but then again not really. It's so on its own though to really be put together with most rpgs out there. There's a story, but you have to discover it.
Yes there are NPCs. Not many, but the ones it has is more than enough to really tell/show an good story.

over a year late, and at full price?
i dont think so!
not to mention there are so many good games due out roughly the same time, so its not like were strapped for time consumers!
nice try atlas, maybe this will teach you a lesson, hopefully next time you will release games worldwide not on yearly intervals.
i mean who do they think they are? sega?

couple of things i'd like to know: are we getting dedicated european servers, or are we plugged into US servers? With a limited release, having our own servers might not be the best.
Also, is the strategy guide any good? I'm assuming it's the same one as came with the US special edition, so is it worth the premium. I could probably get an imported standard edition cheaper from ebay

If you buy the European version, you'll probably be logged into the European servers.
From what I remember those who bought the Asian version get to play with those form Asian regions.
