Capcom Officially Unveils Horde Of New Games, DLC
Typically, a press release features one major announcement...not like a dozen.
Nevertheless, Capcom has delivered a veritable treasure trove of announcements, many of which will excite fans of the publisher's most popular franchises. Rather than dive right in and provide you with a wall of text, we'll hit the highlights in this fashion:
Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of the Two Worlds: We heard about the supposed confirmation of a third entry and now, it's no longer "supposed." Iconic Marvel and Capcom characters will go head-to-head once more as you "battle in a comic book brought to life powered by Capcom's MT Framework." It's set to launch for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in spring 2011.
Bionic Command Rearmed 2: The other title we anticipated is also confirmed; it's a sequel to the first Rearmed. Nathan Spencer is back and this time, he has to take down General Sabio, "a new technologically sophisticated foe," who has his finger on the trigger, so-to-speak. The trademark grappling hook will be back and yes, we'll get new and enhanced abilities as well. Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 will hit the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live service in Q1 2011.
Sengoku BASARA: Samurai Heroes: Devil May Cry 4 producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi brings you the newest iteration in the BASARA series; "fun, action-packed and accessible," players will fight their way to the final battle known as "Sekigahara." Fist fights, swords, spears, bows, and even guns will be at your disposal, so get read to do battle this fall on the PlayStation 3 and Wii.
Dead Rising 2 Co-op: The Xbox 360 may be getting the exclusive Dead Rising 2 Prologue but at least PS3 owners will be able to partake of this new feature in the highly anticipated sequel. Buddy up and take down the stumbling hordes after the game hits store shelves on August 31.
Super Street Fighter IV Tournament Mode DLC: Compete online with only the best players in the world...if you think you've got what it takes, that is. Championship titles are up for grabs when this new piece of DLC drops on June 15 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. New DLC will also release on April 27; this first pack will be dubbed the Super Challengers 1 Pack and it'll feature costumes for Hakan, Makoto, Guy, Dudley and Dee Jay.
Lost Planet 2 DLC: Map Pack #1 features new maps for the 16-player multiplayer action and it comes to the PSN and XBL services on May 11. The two maps featured will be Helix and Back to the Island.
MotoGP 09/10 DLC: The first free update will boast the Silverstone Circuit for the 2010 season; remember, this game (which launched on March 23) features all the tracks and racers from the 2009 season with downloadable updates to the tracks, riders, teams and liveries for the 2010 season.
'whew' I think we're done.

3D graphics, 2D gameplay (LBP is also like this)
2D sprites take YEARS (and lots of money) to make.
SFIII cost Capcom A LOT of money and could never make back all that money they spent.
And I disagree, consoles are so advanced that it would be really hard for 2D sprites to look as good as 3D models, unless it's high quality stuff (yeeeeeeeeeeeears of development).
Have you played Tatsunoko VS Capcom? That game looks amazing...

As for it going 3D like SFIV, i don't mind it. Tatsunoko vs Capcom is a great game, the models and animations are fantastic. It's one of the best Wii games on the market. Its a must own if you have a Wii. The Marvel Vs Capcom 3 looks like Tatsunoko vs Capcom only in HD and cleaner.

Is it really that hard to make 2d sprites in HD? didnt they do that for that street fighter hd game on psn? i dont think that took that long. look at how ryu looked in mvc2 then ryu in SF4. he looks like a battle hungry, steroid infused fighter especially when they do their supers.
@jawknee
sure ironman was there, but wheres spiderman. from what i'm hearing, there will be about 30 characters altogether. Thats crap compared to the marvel vs capcom 2 roster. they better not have shrunk the roster because of space limitations. My team for MVC2 are 2 wolverines and spiderman, its all about speed with that combo.

Imagine drawing and coloring hundreds of HD-quality sprites for each character
This was possible during the ps1 era since they sprites weren't HD and required less sprites per animation.
It also costs were more money to hire lots of Professional artists to do a whole game hand drawn

Now we're #*!$ing talking! I think I've now watched the trailer around 20 times on YouTube. LOL. If you haven't seen the trailer (search "Official Marvel Vs. Capcom 3" or else you'll get a bunch of fan-made trailers) yet, I highly recommend checking it out. I hope they keep the art design in the trailer for the game. It's insanely cool looking!

EDIT... WOW, I just looked at VGChartz, and 360 sold .22 million and PS3 sold .17 million of Bionic Commando. And we need a 2nd one?
Capcom must be hurting for video game ideas.
Or it was cheap to make. Oh boy, can't wait for a cheap game. Or, we have been lied to, and developers really don't need to sell that many games to turn a profit. (Heavenly Sword anyone?)
