Fast Attack Pack For MAG Assaults PSN Next Week
If you're an avid MAG player, you're probably on the lookout for any new additions and enhancements.
Therefore, you'll want to log onto the PlayStation Network on April 29, when the new "100% free" Fast Attack Gear Pack will arrive. This piece of DLC will offer three brand new Special Edition Sniper Rifles; the HM 90 SE for Raven, the SASR M for SVER, and the MK 14 Mod 1 EBR for Valor...it was totally screwy to type all those random letters, by the way. These fresh weapons "include a number of performance adjustments and visual variations to our already-popular long-range weapons." But that's not all: this Pack will further boast a collection of new armor types, as each of the three Factions will be able to select Improved Light Armor in their loadouts. It'll only cost you 440 in-game credits, too. Oh, and they apparently want to tell you a second time that this downloadable pack is free. Gamers have been complaining about the cost of premium DLC for quite some time, so any free expansion to a game is typically welcomed with open arms.
So who's a big MAG fan? It had a bit of a rocky start and didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations, but as we figured, it has been getting better and better ever since that time.

Go with Raven! the only bad part about Raven is our DOM map. It's the only one without a roof over half of the main objectives (letting air strikes kill almost everyone inside) and the whole map is cut in half by a river. Just what was Zipper thinking when they made that map? So much fail in that map.
Im hoping that 1.06 coming in May will help it and Valors F ninja door (I won't explain. I don't support glitches)

Currently, I see it has sold around 760,000 copies. I wonder what their expected sales were set at. Is this underacheiving or exceding their goals?

Also, there are 3 modes. 64 players, 128 players, and the big one. So if you split up the 6 to 7K online between 3 factions that put them into 3 modes, you are left with only 700 per faction playing or 3 games going at once.
Further hurting it is that most people will not want to wait that long and jump into the 64 player match. The problem is that the 64 player match is basically their version of Sabotage. It's fun for a time but gets boring after playing it over 100 hours.

By the way Ben I noticed you guys didn't comment on the last dlc and the patch that actually changed the map layout a little bit on SVER sabotage map. They moved some obstacle around and added an extra which really changed attacking and defending strategies.
Anyways enough of the long comment, been awhile since I commented on here. Peace.

Right now, I finally broke down the other day and bought FFXIII, so that one is going to keep me going for a bit I hope. I may get MAG eventually, but by the time I do, I have a feeling that there won't be as many people playing it anymore.

I am so ready to go back to Valor.
I am all for free stuff, but what I really want is some more maps. In my opinion, it's the only thing the game is missing.
My PSN is maxpontiac, so if anyone wants to add me, please do.

The barriers you need to overcome to enjoy MAG:
1. Learning Curve - the real joy of this game comes after playing it for over 40 hours. When you know the maps, know some effective strategies being a leader, and have gotten your rank up enough to experience some of the cool gear you can use.
2. Playing with people you know or people you met who want to win and aren't morons.
3. Joining a faction that fits your particular style. Generally speaking, SVER offers the easiest faction. Their maps are easily defended and offer the most wins. Valor is kind of in the middle, with their maps being a bit more balanced. Raven is known to be the biggest challenge since their maps are the hardest to defend and they have to attack the harder maps. I've played on all three and enjoy Raven the most.
I have found that SVER has some great leaders on it that can really motivate their troops and can win when attacking. Coupled with their hard maps and they easily win at Domination every time the contract is up.
I found Valor to be very unorganized and I didnt run into one effective leader when playing on it. Not to say there aren't any because I've met some on the boards, just in the time I've played on it.
Ravens leadership is a crap shoot, if I'm leading you I tend to assume you know what you are doing and will let you know when I'm doing something that effects you or will quickly say what the strategy is. My leadership skills are average...not much of a motivational speaker.
