Ubisoft Has Domains For New Driver, Assassin's Creed
Assassin's Creed IIWe knew another Assassin's Creed title would be coming our way, but did we expect another Driver? Hmm...maybe not.
As noted by Superannuation, Ubisoft has registered a couple domain names that point towards new - and potentially very huge - titles. The first is for "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood," which could be the third installment in the critically acclaimed franchise. It's even more possible because we know the new title will support online multiplayer, so "brotherhood" seems to fit. However, let's not forget about Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines for the PSP; Brotherhood might be a portable entry and Ubisoft will simply stick with the sequel numbers for the console iterations. The second domain name in question is "Driversanfranciscogame.com," which obviously tells us that Driver, a series that has really never been the same since its inception on the original PlayStation, will make its return. The concept behind these games has always been excellent and we'd be very interested to see how a new Driver would be received by fans and critics alike.
But above all else, we really want that third Assassin's Creed. ACII really was one of the best games of the generation thus far, and the third should be totally bad-ass.

This is one of MANY reasons I'm against digital download games. Take Socom for example, on PSN it's $30, at a retail store it's $30 (if not on sale or any deals). On PSN I pay $30 for a digital file ONLY, at a retail store I pay $30 for a physical disk, manual, artwork, and case. PSN version is INCOMPLETE, retail store is COMPLETE. As a collector you can guess I'll choose the COMPLETE physical copy.
To me, digital games should be discounted from retail versions as it's cheaper than a physical copy.

the case and manual are minor factors, you may not like it but you don't look at the case for 6 hours straight! (at least i hope not)

Multiplayer is nice, but it just does not fit with certain games, one of which is Assassin's Creed.

Now if they want to implement some sort of co op deal in AC3 I'm down with that because I love a good co op game, but AC3 doesn't HAVE to have co op either.
If UBI wants to include MP or Co-op (whichever they wanna include) I hope they don't skimp on the campaign story just to "fit" (we all know the limitations of that OTHER console) or spend more time on MP. I'm sure everybody remembers broken MW2.

I just hope that they don't sacrifice development time on the story line just so they can focus more on the online options.
If I want to play an MP like that I'll just go play UC2..It's pretty much the same idea but with guns instead of swords...

They should look at GTA4 and RDR and try to get somewhere in between... that would be a good mix IMO.

as for AC. well i think its a psp iteration, but if it is for console, than ill defo pick it up. once i've got my hands on a copy of the second obviously. ;)

lol, but seriously, loved me some Altair action in AC1, but he had no real backstory and in the beginning was kind of a dick. Ezio is a much more fleshed out character, the story telling aspect of AC2 is a big leap forward from the first, and it helps you connect more with your avatar.

Not sure if Brotherhood will be it though. Since they released both an Altair and Ezio AC game on the DS and only an Altair adventure on the PSP, it might very well just be the PSP Ezio game.
