The Sims 3 Headed To Consoles With All-New Features
I remember working at EB way back when, always wondering why everyone would go nutty over every "Sims" release. There were entire shelves lined with these games. ...it was facking crazy.
But such popular franchises don't die out easily, especially when you tackle multiple game platforms. EA has revealed that The Sims 3, which released last year for the PC, will finally be coming to consoles this holiday season. It'll be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS and all versions are set for fall 2010. The console versions will boast all-new features, including "Karma Powers" that will determine if your lil' avatar will have any luck, or if he'll just be flat-out cursed. The PS3 and 360 entries will also feature Facebook connectivity, so you can share your Trophy and Achievement updates with friends. The Wii version gets an exclusive beach town and the DS version will introduce a brand new Story Mode, which is a first for any portable Sims. Said EA executive producer Sam Player:
"We’re bringing players the best console and handheld game for The Sims franchise to date and are excited to offer a unique experience for all types of gamers on their platform of choice. Building on the unique traits system, living open neighborhood, lifetime wishes, and endless customization options, we’ve tailored each platform of The Sims 3 with exclusive features to allow for even more control, creativity, and connectivity."
I'm sorry; I've just always found these games to be uber-creepy. And how come only girls were coming in to buy The Sims? And why were they always creepy? Well, either way, I'm positive there are millions of fans out there - creepy or not - and they should very much appreciate having The Sims 3 on platforms other than the PC.

Altho after the first one, I haven't really paid much attention to them. Due to the fact that ea has turned them into cash milkers. You get hardly anything with the original game and now have to purchase every little thing you want, which is insane.
I have played some of the third installment on pc and while its got some enjoyable elements it follows the same money hungry trend, so I will definitely pass.

i'm pretty sure they see a cash-making opportunity with the consoles... they can release all of their expansion packs over the network and make a killing in a totally untapped market...
