inFamous 2 Domain Found, Revealing Coming Soon?

inFamous was one of our favorite games last year and although a sequel has always been likely, it's never really been official.

But according to PlayStation LifeStyle citing a recent finding by Superannuation, SCEA has registered a domain for inFamous 2. The site is simply called "INFAMOUS2THEGAME," which is fairly self-explanatory and also very exciting. If you completed the original title, you know it ended with a bit of a cliffhanger, so you've probably been waiting on news of a sequel. What we're hoping is that Sucker Punch keeps the exact same game mechanics from the first title - they were tight and bad-ass - and just gives us a whole new city and environment. You know, take a page from Rockstar and GTA; give us the familiar gameplay in a whole new situation, and we'll be plenty happy. However, we'll certainly expect some new powers and skills for our fleet-footed hero, Cole, and another well-written and well-implemented storyline. What would you like to see in the sequel? Was there something about the first game you didn't particularly like? Would you want the same style of exploring the city, where you unlocked it chunk by chunk? And how's about that story?

We fully expect inFamous 2 to be unveiled soon, perhaps even before E3. And depending on how far along Sucker Punch is in the development process, we should see this highly anticipated sequel within the next year.

although i lovved the side missions, perhaps get more of a variety of them as opposed to just 8 or so different missions that are repeated. But other than that, new moves is all i want

Powers that are bad ass, and powerful each with their own advantage, but equal for different stages of karma. so being unholy evil, the final power is powerful and advantageous in one or so ways, and if your any other stages of karma, you get a power equally powerful, just advantageous in a different way...

I loved the first Infamous! The only thing I hated was trying to max out every power after I had already beaten the game so I could get the Platinum trophy... There were hardly any enemies to find so it took forever to get enough points. Anyways, I agree, I think the same game mechanics with more powers and a whole new environment would be perfect!

By the way Ben, how long are the comments going to be in beta?

Excellent, the original was a brilliant game with an absolutely mindblowing ending. However I hope they change the whole 'morality system'. It was a bit contrived. You could either be good or evil, but there was no inbetween path, so to speak. It needs to a bit more subtle this time. Oh, and add some more varied side missions and this should be one heck of a sequel.

i just didn't see how a second game could be made with the same character... there were two different notoriety paths and two different endings... i just don't know how they could tie all of that into a sequel...

i vote for a new hero/protagonist in a new city... with another sort of situation that turns an everyday guy into an infamous superhero...

i'm sure i'm in the minority here but, i just don't see how they could do a believable sequel to cole's story... change it up like the GTA series and give us a new superhero with new powers...

Regardless of the two endings, Cole still had his powers. There are many different ways they could go with the story.

maybe you'll be able to load up a finished inFamous save file and start you off, in hero mode, or as a villain, however you finished the 1st.
You then from there can change your ways if you wanted.

that would make sense... but yea, that's the problem i see with a continuing story... there was two different characters at the end of the two endings... i think you'd have to be given the option at the beginning of starting out pure evil or pure good so you can continue that story arc... starting out neutral wouldn't work with this one... you need to be fully committed to a certain allegiance, good or evil...

otherwise, give us a new character and story...

Well, there's an extremely easy way to solve the ending differences... I just played through again last week and they're still fresh in my mind. Honestly the ending was no different, just the part after the credits about what you did and how the city changed. Good = City fixed, cleaned up, and back to normal. Bad = City ruined, no law enforcement, and you're the strongest person so you're on top. Easy way to solve problem: new city. Think about it, he travels to a new city in the opening scene, and the game picks up from there. They can have 2 opening scenes to show the differences. Then it would just continue on as normal.

This is good news. inFamous is easily one of the top 5 PS3 exclusives. Great story and gameplay. Get it if you don't already have it.

Some nitpicking improvements I'd like to see would be fixing some of the minor glitches and a little more variety in the bad guys you fight.

Here's a suggestion: Make the damn shards easier to find. I hated it when I was down to the last 5, and I had to comb the map very carefully, which took like 2 hours, and I really got sick of pressing L3 and that sound. After that I just had one left, and it took me days (literally) to find it.

I liked the fact that you had to really pay attention while looking for the shards. But i do agree that better placement would be nice. Don't make it too easy however, that wouldn't be fun.

Best supehero character in a LONG time. Cole is badass and electricity has always been my favorite element!

I still remember when I got Infamous, addictive as hell!

What I loved most? The variety....from creeping through a sewer to making your way through a power plant, to chasing baddies through allies and such. This kind of variety in gameplay is really dynamic. We need more!!

I was thinking that he should get a sidekick in Infamous 2. But I'm kind of against that idea now. Might distract the storyline and might mess everything up. Cole's badass enough.

Zeke was pretty funny. I think there's still much to do with him. A superhero sidekick though would be all wrong. Cole's too gritty for that, even in the good guy campaign.

I hate that with some games when you finally get all your powers upgraded you find you have 1-2 more levels/areas/bosses to go and its over. I hope they give Cole more powers such as some that were found in Psi-Ops back in the day. That was a great game imo game mechanic and power wise. Wish they'd made a sequel for that one too.

I'm still playing the first inFamous, the gameplay was so addictive and the story was top-notch.

Things I would twek...better shard placement, a few more powers, different missions.

a new city would be nice, they could show Cole breaking through the lockdown of the city to get to the new city.

Keep it going Sucker Punch.

Aight, I'd want more powers of course, and an even more bad-ass ultimate power thingy.
And TELEPORTATION, yeah, that'd be awesome, just to screw around with.
Also, more diverse side missions. And the same goodness story wise, or even better if they can.
New city of course.
No more Trish, she was one fugly b*tch, in the comics she wasn't that bad, but in the game, damn -_-, on top of that she also kept b*tchin' to your face, as if it was all Cole's fault, tss.

you dont want to know what i would do to get this game.
for some reason i still really enjoy infamous, i normally play a game once or twice and thats it i get rid of it because i get bored of playing it.
not infamous though, its almost a year old, ive finished it like 8 times and im still having as much fun with it as i did when it first released!

just slap on a new coat of paint, nicer graphics, stabilize the frame rate, add in destructible environments, maybe add a new power or 2, and you got yourself GOTY 2011!!!!!!!!!!!

Infamous was a really great game, especially for sucker punch's first game on the PS3.Graphically it wasn't uncharted 2 or killzone 2 but compared to other sandbox style games[GTA,prototype, ect] it without a doubt stands as #1.

To my surprise the story was really good,i enjoyed it to the very end.The story is actually one of infamous's greatest strength and am really excited to see where they take the sequel.

There are just a few things i truly want to see in the second one:Improved animations[blame uncharted lol],2X more powers, more variety in the enemies, and more of that sweet traversing! XD

InFamous was definitely one of my favorite games on the PS3. The game is only going to get better with its sequel. What I would like to see enhanced is the repetitiveness of the annoying goons one had to constantly encounter throughout the city. Either than that the game is awesome.
