Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II Set For October 26
While Star Wars: The Force Unleashed didn't exactly receive elite review scores from critics, it obviously sold enough to warrant a sequel.
If 7 million total units sold isn't enough, nothing is. And late last year, we knew the sequel would arrive towards the end of 2010, although LucasArts wouldn't nail down a specific launch window. But now, according to the upcoming game's Facebook page, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is set to release on October 26. It doesn't mention the platforms but we've long since had the retailer information; the game is coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PSP, DS and Wii. If you want to catch a glimpse of the teaser trailer, head over to GameSpot and watch the video; just bear in mind there are some minor spoilers. We do know the sequel should feature Galen "Starkiller" Marek, Darth Vader's understudy that became a big hit with fans of the original title. You may have thought he'd be dead and buried but Marek appears to be very much alive, so we're hoping you liked the protagonist from the first Force Unleashed. But anyway, just about anything with "Star Wars" in the title still sells. The craze may never die...
What's the deal with publishers slapping up significant announcements on Facebook and Twitter? Do we really care about these so-called social sites this much? ...I guess we do.

As for Force Unleashed 2, I loved the first one, it had its faults but wielding a lightsabre will always make an awesome game.
Here's hoping it comes with Move support.

One of my favorite parts was just using the force grip to lift Tie-Fighter wings to put them in place of missing platforms to reach items. The game was a unique mix of GOW, R&C, and HL2 elements, in a wholly-realized story that is cannon to the franchise. It's a pity that the game was marred by rushed, and unrefined mechanics. Here's hoping to solid improvements so the game gets the acclaim it deserves.

Force unleashed gave me hope for that uber awesome feeling, only to be stabbed in the back by the cold, clammy, knife of reality.
Doubt the second will be any better. My response to Lucas arts and their announcement.
Just consider Force Unleashed 2 initials and that about says it all.

no pics, no previews, no interviews, nothing!
i really enjoyed the first game it was actually fun for a change, which is more than i can say about most games. sadly :(
but all this secretiveness following the title certainly has not struck confidence in me, maybe there waiting till E3.
normally we have heaps of info on a game that was announced 6 months ago, hell we have more info on batman AA2 than this for peeks sake!

I agree about announcing stuff on Facebook and Twitter. I don't have any interest in either of those sites.

Don't watch them in numerical order.
Think of when he says, Luke, I am your father. That won't be as powerful, becuase if they see 1, 2, 3 first, they will already know.
Also, they will know Yoda as an old slow mutant because they saw 4, 5, 6 then 1, and then when he kicks a$$ in 2, they will get a kick out of it.

The movies are intended to be watch in order, like all stories are. Maybe you are type who starts in the middle of a book.
If they don't know that Anakin becomes Vader, that's even better. Or where the Stormtroopers came from. Starting a story at mid point makes little sense.

However, I have to chuckle at your comment...
"Starting a story at mid point makes little sense."
What order did you watch them in? Am I to assume then that you like to read a book starting in the middle?
Star Wars is unique in that sense. I suppose if you present me with a book that it can be argued that it makes good sense to start in the middle, then I would consider it.
The irony is I am trying to figure the order to watch them with my youngest son when he is ready in a few years. My oldest son and I go back and forth about it as to the pros and cons. Makes for good conversation when you are driving to McDonalds. =)
