First DLC Pack Brings Co-Op To Red Dead Redemption
It isn't even out yet, and Rockstar is already delivering details for downloadable content. That's what we like to call, "proactive."
Today, Rockstar has announced "Outlaws to the End," a Co-Op Multiplayer Mission Pack for Red Dead Redemption. The game is scheduled to launch in a couple weeks and this pack, which is free and adds the oft-requested co-op gameplay, will follow in June. This is only one of three DLC packs headed our way and it boasts six all-new multiplayer missions, loaded with "outlaws, epic gunfights, and revolution for 2-4 players." There will also be new Trophies and Achievements to snag, too. Said Rockstar Founder Sam Houser:
"Multiplayer in Red Dead Redemption offers players a whole new way to encounter the massive open world we’ve created, but we felt the experience would not be complete without co-op game play. With these missions, we wanted to create new ways for players to share in the experience of engaging with this amazing landscape."
Rockstar provided brief details for three of the six co-op missions. The first is "Walton's Gold," where Walton's Gang have taken control of a mining camp. Obviously, there's a lot of gold in there so blast your way in, load up a mining cart with as much gold as it can carry, and get out ASAP (Walton's boys have explosives, ya know). Then there's "The River," where you will actually ride a raft downriver, firing at rebel encampments and eventually arriving at the stronghold of Nosalida for a final epic battle. Lastly, we have "Ammunition;" the Mexican Army has attacked the town of Tesoro Azul, and it's your job to clear 'em out using a Gatling gun, heavy cannon, and sniper fire. Good enough?
Multiplayer is fun; multiplayer co-op can be super fun. And we can't wait for RDR.

This tho sounds quite nice, especially free.
Was a little worried they would be gouging us with tons of dlc right at launch, but thankfully this is free, keep it up rockstar.

That's the only reason why I said that. But sure... If you insist.

With the PS3 install base the way it is now, we will probably see less Xbox exclusive DLC and less 3rd party exclusive games. And maybe, just maybe well see some more 3rd party PS3 exclusives. A return to the glory days perhaps?

but, making moves like this just furthers my belief that rockstar games is the best gaming company in the biz... they know their fans and they know what they want out of their games... and they continue to prove that they know how to deal with DLC...
i'll continue to be a loyal fan until they cease to exist... the only thing that has disappointing me was giving M$ GTAIV add-ons first... but, now that the PS3 has it, it's all water under the bridge now :D...

or co-op as in online only?
some of us do actually invite our friends over from time to time you know?
what the hell is going on with normal co-op?
almost every ps1 game had co-op, at least 60% of ps2 games had co-op now im lucky if 1 game out of a 1000 on the ps3 has co-op!
one question.
what the fu*k is the point of the ps3 being able to have up to 7 controllers connected at once if 99.99999999999999999999999999% of the games dont support 2 let alone 7!?
honestly!
almost every xbox 360 exclusive has co-op so why is it that very few ps3 games have it?
only people with a 360 actually invite their friends over for some fun and games?

2 things sony REALLY! need to do.
1 assign a studio to remaking ps1 and ps2 classics.
2 make sure more developers put co-op into their games.
