BioWare Working To Combat Dragon Age Crashing
Ever since firmware update 3.3 for the PlayStation 3, Dragon Age: Origins players have been suffering.
Many gamers have reported frequent crashing issues in the game after downloading the update but thankfully, BioWare is on top of things. The developer has a team currently working on the problem, and according to a post on the BioWare forums made by online producer Fernando Melo, player feedback has been very important.
"Thanks to the great feedback on here and from those folks we've been in contact with directly, the team now thinks we've been able to find a code-side workaround from our end to patch DA to play nicer with firmware 3.3, which was one of our investigation threads."
He goes on to say they're currently testing this code change and once complete, they'll have to get it through EA's certification testing. Hopefully, this won't take very long and Melo emphasizes that the publisher "is aware of the importance of this and will give this priority in the queue of titles/patches across EA." After that, it has to go through Sony testing and only then will we get the fix. So yeah, you've got to wait a bit but at least the crashing should go away some time in the near future.

Not often enough to spoil the game for me though. Dragon age is the coolest game I've played this year and quite possibly on my top 5 ever for the ps3, and this comes from a guy who can't really stand fantasy settings. Dragon Age changed all that. A very, very good game.

I was planning on getting this one when the GOTY edition comes out, or whatever the version is called with all the DLC included. I am sure it will be sorted out by then. :D

Oblivion goty was uber broke. If you got vampirism you couldn't get rid of it, which meant you couldn't go outside during the day. Just saying goty isn't always the best option.

It really surprised me, but I just rebooted and reloaded the game, and it worked fine. I haven't had a freeze-up ever since.
Is it supposed to freeze that often?
