Ubisoft Reveals HAWX Sequel
Okay, so we don't have a new Ace Combat for the PlayStation 3 just yet, but that doesn't mean flight aficionados won't have another option later this year.
Ubisoft has announced a sequel to last year's HAWX is in the works; it'll come to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and PC some time this fall (oh dear Lord, another big autumn title). Ubisoft Bucharest is at the helm and although we don't have a ton of details at this time, it seems the game will be - surprise, surprise - directly inspired by Tom Clancy's novels. You can also expect to step into the most agile, capable and deadly machines on earth, engaged in battle in an unknown location and pressed to survive. The first game was set in the near future (2012) when private military companies (PMCs) began to run rampant and take advantage of lenient international law; you had to help restore order. Maybe this will be a direct sequel and HAWX 2 will follow in the footsteps of the original title but for now, we don't really know. And yes, HAWX sold a million-plus units so the sequel is indeed warranted, regardless of whether or not you were aware of last year's launch. Flight fans will definitely remember it, that's for sure. Ace Combat may have some competition, ya know...
So be prepared for more info on this impending sequel, which is likely to arrive during E3 next month.
