Numerous Call Of Duty Domains Found, Details Lacking
I think my first reaction to this piece of news was, "Oh, now what are they doing?!"
We know Activision has Treyarch working on Call of Duty: Black Ops and we know the Sledgehammer studio is also working on a CoD iteration; one many are assuming will be a third-person shooter. But clearly, Activision wants to expand the popular franchise even further: the publisher may be responsible for registering a number of new domains on the web, including "callofdutyfuturewarfare.com," "callofdutyfuturewarfare2.com," and "callofdutyfuturewarfare3.com." On top of which, domains with just the "warfare" part have popped up all over the place; there's "spacewarfare2.com," "spacewarfare3.com," "secretwarfare2.com," "secretwarfare3.com," "advancedwarfare2.com," and "advancedwarfare3.com." The SecretWarfare one is a preexisting domain, registered to a Norway address unconnected with Activision, but the SpaceWarfare and FutureWarfare ones remain unattached. Superannuation found all these domains but we have to bear in mind that they don't necessarily mean anything (yet). However, we do know there are at least four CoD titles in development, and as we only know about two of 'em...well, three if you count Modern Warfare 3, which hasn't been officially revealed. Of course, it probably will be...
Raven Software may also be working on a Call of Duty but again, that can't be confirmed at this time. All we really know is that the name "Call of Duty" will be unavoidable in the years to come.

Oh for god's sake, calm down. Godfrobid a very select group of individuals have a differing opinion about the Call of Duty series. I'm sorry but that series is getting tried and tired. How you can sit and play an online game where the same actions and events occur over and over and over and you are subject to some of the cheesiest perks to ever "grace," the series, is beyond me. My real question is this: Why are die hard fans of the Call of Duty franchise so borderline hostile towards the very very small minority of folks who dislike the series.... YOU ARE IN THE MAJORITY, just enjoy the game. If you come looking and expecting a few people to dislike the series and then act so up in arms over it when they act like you expected, I just don't get that. Go play the game with the other 8-18 year old kids cursing and yelling every time they don't get their way, sounds like a lot of fun to me, certainly more so than crying over a few people disagreeing with your CoD opinion. I on the other hand, am very psyched to see what Black Ops turns out like, I think the Vietnam theme looks very interesting.
Peace.

They just love milking any DAMN FRANCHISE that goes insanely big! Remember Guitar Hero...after what happened with Guitar Hero II?
The sh**iest Guitar Heroes on the face of the planet came out:
Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s (69)
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (70)
Guitar Hero Smash Hits (71)
Guitar Hero: Van Halen (64)
Guitar Hero On Tour (71)
Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades (72)
Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits (70)
I placed the Metacritic score by each of them...just look at how bad they are compared to the originals: Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II. When I said "shi**iest" I meant...compared to the great beginning. Metallica, World Tour, and 5 are good but again not AS GREAT as the originals were.
I definitely can say that this whole "WARFARE" franchise will see the same results.
But then again...I can't blame Activision. Although they may definitely deliver less quality...they just want their damn paychecks by putting the same formula, 2-3 new weapons, a different map which takes a day to make, and a story based off of War FANFIC sites.
My next prediction:
Michael Pachter coming out of his shell noting that: "Warfare franchise won't do well - quality wise" - and that dumb picture of him showing up.

Could be a squatter picking up one of them, but I've read 3 different articles on separate sites yesterday that actually show anti-vision as being the new holders of those most of these domain names, especially the "futures" & the spacewarfare" one's.
Plus one of them had said that anti-vision pulled "Raven" off the game that they were doing, just to help Infinity Ward craft the futuristic spacewarfare COD.

Activision can create a zillion CoD games if that's what they want to do, but without those genius level designers at IW, they'll never appeal to the huge MW online crowds.

as for cod, i think its gonna get some serious competition. KZ3 soounds promising (if a bit brown and grey) and Medal of Honour seems to be shaping up to a good modern warfare title with an actualy emphasis on the story.

i've just realised how cool that would be.
@Mavfan, oh i dont deny it makes sense, and i wouldn't complain if the thrid was brown, but the above idea would make the game possibly more epic. i mean not really colourful, but dark shades of green and blue or whatever.

Seriously though, this is good news for people who still eat up anything CoD.
I really think MW3 will really have to up its game, with the likes of Medal of Honour and other FPS's breathing down its neck, MW3 will have to do more than just the same old multi player gameplay and tacked-on single player campaign
