Early Killzone 3 Screenshots Leaked?

We know a third Killzone is definitely in the works, and a good guess would be expect the new installment to arrive during the first quarter of 2011; perhaps 2 years exactly after Killzone 2 (which launched at the end of February 2009).

But we haven't seen anything concrete in terms of media or simple images, so everyone has been scanning the Internet in an attempt to catch an early glimpse. While Sony may indeed drop the KZ3 bombshell during their press conference next month at E3, it seems a Russian magazine has an upcoming feature on the hotly anticipated title. The scanned images from that publication popped up in the GameTrailers forums; one of them is posted here. You can scan through that thread and pick out a few links that bring you face-to-face with what may be the real deal... Of course, we're far more interested in moving images; i.e., debut or teaser trailers that definitively confirm the existence of the game and what we can expect when the final product arrives. Of course, video can only include CGI, but hey, at least it's something. In this particular case, we'd like to think the screenshots in question are legitimate and although a few of them are nothing more than art renderings, they're pretty darn encouraging.

Most will agree that KZ2 is one of the best-looking shooters in history, so we can only guess at what Guerrilla might give us with the third title...

I have yet to see Sony off their game.They always got something new rather its a new game, new hardware, or updates they deliver and listen to thier loyal customers.

This game is going to be amazing, hopefully they don't completely cave for all of those people whining about the speed of the first one... it isn't CoD. And over on a gamespot thread some guy said he had the magazine in question and provided shots from it also. He claims that some of the features will include jetpacks and a arctic maps as well as some other cool details.

The jetpacks look totally sweet, and apparently they may have guns attached to them. My only suggestions are:

-Let me hold two weapons of my choice

-Relax on the needless and poorly placed swearing

-Give the voice actors some lessons

The rest is bound to be awesome even if it is only a tiny bit better than KZ2. And I don't want to hear anyone here whining about how we rag on FPS and then praise the KZ, the best of the best is always better than the mediocre.

All excellent suggestions. I felt that KZ2 was just a few degrees off of true excellence, but with a few relatively simple tweaks it could be in truly outstanding territory. The voice acting was shockingly, disgustingly terrible in part 2 -- but there are a LOT of fantastic voice actors out there desperate for work who could really give the squad a lot of character and heart. I have to believe they are going to rectify that for part 3.

Also, I'm in the minority around here on this, but I would really prefer to be able to play the campaign co-op online. Throw that in, and this one's a no question day one purchase for me.

Strange thing about the history of FPS games. It seems that at any given time there is one FPS to rule them all. KZ2 had the potential to be it when it was released but many couldn't get over the slow controls and badly acted single player experience. I hope Guerrilla makes some good design decisions and is able to nab top FPS honors with KZ3.

I don't think they can unless they improve the multiplayer to MW fan's scope. It was fun in KZ2, but rather simplistic compared to the multiplat titles.

I wouldn't call KZ2's multiplayer simplistic by any means. The always changing objectives, not to mention a really well designed and for the most part balanced class system, it has a lot of good things going for it.

I get what you mean. I think that's a part of balancing too so to me would I prefer fewer guns that feel more balanced or a bunch but the majority of players use like 5 out of the 20? FPS nuts should start to see that what should make an fps good is atmospherics, and immersion, if a game is in the first person it should feel like it's you. For instance people complained about the weightiness of KZ2 but I feel it add to the feel, I could go on I loved it and I basically have only had it for like 3 months.

I know it early but the ps3 has some mad games for 2011 lined up. With 3D and move on the way the ps3 is goin to dominate the poor 360!!

Isn't that this year as well? What exactly as far as exclusives go does the 360 have other than Halo Reach? All I can think of is Alan Wake and Splinter Cell Conviction, and one of those didn't do very well...

sweet i cant wait for this but for the love of god please get rid of that cliche storyline and insert something decent.
KZ2s story is straight out of a Hollywood Silvester Stallone movie, it was pathetic!

insert a decent story, and change up the gameplay and it could be a really good game, and it will need to be because theres some heavy hitters due next year.
RAGE, dead space 2 and half life 2 epp 3 to name a few.

KZ2 is the perfect example of good graphics taking away from the rest of the game, they spent so much time and effort making the graphics good everything else fell by the way side!!!
KZ2 really felt like a stitch job, especially towards the end it feels like they said oh sh*t we still have got this this this and that do do and ran around like headless chickens to get it done.
got more plot holes in it than Swiss cheese!!!!

Hard to imagine KZ3 looking much better than its predecessor, but if anyone could teach Guerilla a thing a bout graphics its Naughty Dog. A few splashes of color and KZ3 could be unstoppably beautiful.

I had minimal complaints with the game, the strangest feature that didn't come with the game was the ability to install it on the HDD. Which would have been a very welcomed addition to an already stellar game in my opinion. As it ran well, sometimes there would be the occasional hiccup.

Saying KZ2 had "good" graphics is an understatement. And once you got used to the controls they worked well, which I did. The game doesn't need to have super cracked out twitch CoD controls to be great. It stood out from many shooters for a reason. I bought it on day 1 and didn't look back, until Bad Company 2 came out.

Oh, and for my opinions record, Alan Wake has a good story but that is it.

The "chime" when you kill someone online is really addicting. I hope they keep that, and add more guns, and the snow maps from the killzone liberation. Make the flamethrower a class of it's own!
I'm sure GG will make a badass AAA FPS experience.

I admit to being a COD fanboy and an avid player. I have played every COD from the computer to the PS3, and loved almost all of it. However, even though I am a fan of the series I will be greatly disappointed if KZ3 changes its game play. I loved the KZ series and when I play it I want realistic weight, movement, kickback(on firearms), and intelligent AI. I don't understand why people think that if you really like one FPS you expect all others to be exactly the same. Anyways, I have faith in the developers and expect an intense, immersive, and enjoyable experience. Definitely going to be a must buy.
