Killzone 3 "Bigger In Scope," Will Be Playable In 3D
The Internet has gone Killzone 3-crazy after first discovering those screenshots. Thing is, if one magazine is running a huge feature, that means others are, too.
And if you need to do some catching up and would rather not click a dozen different links, just visit this brief rundown in the GameSpot forums (and if you still want to visit all the links, they're pasted in below the post). First of all, there's some sort of comparison to the movie, "Inglorious Basterds," which doesn't make much sense to us but...okay. Then, based on the gathered info floating about from those various incoming articles, we learn several other interesting tidbits: jet packs are included and you will have direct control over them (as evidenced by a few of those screens, too), the Helghast culture will be brought to the forefront, the combat is mostly unchanged from KZ2 but will allow you to unload "a string of different (and often brutal) attacks on stunned enemies," a new weapon called the Wasp sounds like a futuristic rocket launcher, the size and scope of the game should be larger, and oh yes, 3D will definitely be an option. They're calling it a "Game Changer" and of course, you must have the 3D-compatible TV and the requisite glasses...but can you imagine plying a game like Killzone 3 in 3D? That just has to be totally insane.
We're also very interested in this enhanced focus on the Helghast, a group that really wasn't brought into the limelight in KZ2. The added diversity of levels is another highlight, so bring on the unveiling at E3!

So, of course, Halo and M$ft did it first. Just like M$ft thought up the idea of using a camera for motion controls with Natal... but wait... the Ps2 EyeToy and the PS3 Eye came first.
Add in the fact that Guerilla has been developing K3 for a couple of years now; so I'm sure they quickly added the jetpacks in the past few weeks when they saw the public beta of Reach, which has only been in effect for the past few weeks.
Suuuuureeee!
Oh, but wait… Magazines normally have a two- to three-month lead time before the magazine hits the newsstand.
This just happens to be one of those freaky things where the developers just thought to add the same thing to their games at the same time.
It happens all the time in Hollywood:
Tombstone/Wyatt Earp
Deep Impact/Armageddon
Paul Blart: Mall Cop/Observe And Report
All similar movies that released around the same time (months) of each other.
It just happens.

I love how Sony's devs are so friendly with each other. Each company, seems to act as a part of a bigger whole...moreso than I really see/hear in any other similar situation. Everyone profits when devs play nice with each other.

Game design-wise, if they simply do away with CoD-style infinite re-spawning that were found in a few but significant moments in KZ2, I should be happy with it. And please Guerilla, make beating the final chamber on the Elite setting more tolerable. I made my way to the last throne room after having traversed every level prior to it. Including that wretched re-spawn train level spot. All to give up in utter frustration of how challenging and, not to mention dumb my AI partner was at the end moments of the game... 'nuff said.

i hope they open up the game, make it more like BFBC where you can go and destroy anything you want.
make it strategic.
say your outnumbered by enemies, instead of popping them off one by one, lure them under a strut shoot the strut and the roof collapses.
something like that, or blow up a bridge so enemies cant get heavy artillery over to attack you.
anything different, im sick of this take cover, pop, shoot, take cover, pop, shoot, dodge grenade, take cover, pop, shoot molakia bull sh*t!!!
we need something to change up the gameplay, to make the player think, keep the player on his toes.
o, and again really open up the level design.
i remember i was playing the opening level where you first fight the tanks on elite and was having allot of trouble, than i found this closed off area that lets you sneak past the higs.
sneak past them, and theres like 20 of them just standing there with their backs to ya.
they need to have more levels like that for us, force the player to keep rethinking his strategy instead of running in like rambo, or pussyfooting hiding behind cement the whole game!
