PSXE Poll Update: iPhone And Android Prove Popular

So we wanted to know what type of operating system you have for your phone, and while "Other" was the most popular choice, there seem to be a lot of iPhone and Android users out there.

The survey was for the benefit of Arnold's new site, the GameRankings for mobile and handheld apps, ApPoppa. The site features a collection of reviews and analysis for a variety of games that can be found in iPhone, Android, iPad, and others, and there are even some videos that go along with each blog-style update. It's for those of you who don't want to waste your time and money downloading worthless apps (and there are many), and furthermore, it highlights the ones that would be worth your time. These days, with so many interactive game options available to consumers, it's always best to be informed and educated on the latest releases. Heck, if we just went around spending our money on anything that looked even remotely appealing, we'd be broke in a week. And while apps may not hold $60 price tags, you still don't want to toss money down the drain...and bad apps really can feel like a colossal waste of time. So use PSXE for your PlayStation news, updates and reviews, and turn to ApPoppa for your mobile app info.

This week, we just want to know if you've got Red Dead Redemption yet. The game launched this past week to widespread critical acclaim and with extremely high review scores and a quickly growing fanbase, it's destined to become a very big hit. But maybe the Western theme just doesn't appeal to you, or perhaps you've never been partial to the open-world GTA style. Either way, let us know.

lol. Poll typo! Anyweiz, im not getting Red dead anymore cause i watched my cousin play like 3/4 of the game. And i pretty much spoiled myself. lol.

Android? I thought it was just Droid.

Anyway, yup I finally got my copy of RDR, I unlocked my Golden Guns and I'm having lots of fun in the old west. The only issue I have is that it is a little obvious that it's a GTA clone. Not that that's a bad thing, but as I've said before I had hoped it would be more half GTA and half Red Dead Revolver instead of just GTA in the West. Either way it deserves the scores it's getting.

I dont see at is a GTA clone. Thats just me though. Im immersed in this game. I dont get that with GTA. Never have and probably never will. GTA is fun, but doesnt hold a lot of content, or meaning to me.

So far RDR has, it may be a sand box game, and cus R* developed it, it will get that comparison, but RDR to me is all in its own! I said before the only comparison ive made between the two is that R* developed it. Thats just me though! Cus personally i cant say its a clone but enjoy one and immerse my self in one so much more than the other, I just cant.

Its a fun game to play and i think everyone should have a go at it but i really dont see it beating God of war and some of the others for game of the year.

RDR is an encredible game, and unlike GTA4, RDR didn't let me down at all. Why it improves upon the first in almost every way, the only things it comes short compaired to the first is the way the duels are played out and slightly less style.

It does sell great, though I don't think it deserves to. Me, I have a Samsung BlackJack running Windows Mobile. I love it, though it's feeling slower by the day. I would've liked to get my hands on the Palm Pre, or at least any phone with a good implementation of webOS, but since that was Sprint-exclusive it wasn't meant to be (AT&T FTL).

Android 2.2 comes in June and includes USB tethering and wirelss tethering including wi-fi hotspot capability. The Moto Droid is about to become the everything phone.

well they announced it at the i/o on the thursday then released it over the weekend OVA through T mobile, while anyone else could just download it off the internet and install it manually, strange how its not on the droid yet tho as that runs stock android too, but am sure it wont be long til they start rolling out the updates for the newer phones.

Droid users got 2.1 pretty swiftly, 2.2 seems like a much bigger upgrade though.

But yeah, N1 has FroYo now and the devs at XDA is trying to get FroYo on the HTC Hero. ;o

Having a lot of Redemption fun... the delivery guy dropped it off last night at 10:30pm... on a Sunday!

It is an incredible experience! I also traded in Dirt, which I was happy about.

that does not surprise me, the iphone is like a fashion statement everyone got one.
i got rid of mine on sunday and got the htc magic and am really happy with the change.
i hate iphones because they are so freaking restrictive, they dont let you do anything!!!
its my freaking phone, i paid 800 bucks for it so why cant i set my favorite song as a ringtone?
why do i have to spend another couple bucks to buy the song off itunes, is the 800 i paid apple not enough?

I love my iPhone! You really have to jailbreak it to be a little more fun though.

@_____ You can make your own songs a ringtone you just have to go to itunes and click "get info" and cut a sound clip under 30sec. Then create a duplicate as mp3. Change the file name extension to .m4r and your done.

It kinda sucks cuz I jailbroke my phone then one day when I was syncing it my son disconnected it and I had to recover it using the newest update. From what I understand they removed the jailbreaking exploit...DARN.

Would've had it, but since the freerecordshop always screws up pre-orders, I didn't get it the 21st like I should've, I'll be getting it the 25th, friggin' 4 days later.

So yeah, no more pre-ordering after 3 screw ups, they gave me Infamous one and a half week too late, and they lost the god of war 3 special editions, however they did that, and now they screwed me over with Red Dead Redemption, so F them. *sigh*

Haven't got it yet, but I'll definitely be picking it up sometime. Looks pretty fantastic, and the Western theme really appeals to me. But Mr. Cheap always waits for the price to go down. Besides, I REALLY need to play through all these games I've already got :)

I have got RDR and at first was not impressed by it online but my opnion is slowly changing. I am enjoying it more and more each time I play it. :) I love the Single player game though a lot.

i usually hate sandbox/open world games. Despise them usually. But there is just something i adore about Red Dead Redemption. John Marston is a very likeable character and i just want to keep playing. LOL. I felt this way about InFamous as well. I usually lose my patience with these types of games but i really just want to take my time with RDR. Its crazy. One of the best games this year so far for sure.
