Ubisoft Reveals High-Flying Details For Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2
Flight fans may be a little disappointed that Ace Combat hasn't come to the PlayStation 3 just yet, but there are other quality titles out there.
And another will be winging our way this fall. Today, Ubisoft released more details for the upcoming sequel, Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2, which will require all your "finely honed reflexes" to conquer. Ubisoft Bucharest has jammed an impressive amount of technology into this one; featuring everything from the F-35's vectored thrust capability to the "ultra-secret Enhanced Reality System," H.A.W.X. 2 may be one of the more satisfying flight titles ever. Locales include Moscow, the Persian Gulf, the Arctic Circle, and the Indian Ocean, and they all boast "high-resolution GeoEye commercial satellite imagery." As for air warfare, here's what to expect:
- Go head-to-head in close-range dogfights
- Take off and land on bases and carriers
- Sweat through night precision bombing
- Track your targets using silent UAV's then strike from above
- Use air-to-air refueling in the middle of missions
Although it's hardly the biggest genre out there, flight games can be excellent, invigorating experiences. It appears Ubisoft is headed in the right direction with Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 and we'll be all sorts of interested in giving it a try...

Someone should go play Aero Elite Combat Academy on the PS2, one of the best of flight games around as it does everything right. To put it straight, no plane or helicopter handle the same right down to take-offs and landing. Ontop of that the air-to-air fights feel very realistic.

please ubisoft for the love of god no more babysitting missions!!!!!!!!!!
there is nothing more annoying than having to fly past bomb some enemies rinse and repeat to destroy some ground crew so your ground crew survive all at the same time you have a million and one planes shooting you.
so you either have the choice of shoot the planes and have your ground crew destroyed, or shoot the ground troops and have the enemy planes blow you up.
so i have a choice of die, or die.
hmmmmm, hard choice but i think ill choose die.
remove that and ill be front in like for hawx 2, its about bloody time we saw some fighter jet games!!!!!!

Yes, I haven't done that yet, and yes it was satisfying. (Mainly interested to see how many comments this will generate)
I do like flying games, and if this is halfway decent I'll probably have to go and pick it up. 3D flying will be especially interesting, if it ever comes out.
