Wild Arms Developer Working On "Massive Project"
Hey, remember Wild Arms? It was one of the first great RPGs on the original PlayStation and although it admittedly went downhill after that, we figure the latest developer of the series, Media Vision, might have something cool brewing...
According to Andriasang citing a job listing from Japanese site Tenshoku EX, the developer has some "major projects" in the works. One of the job listings says the team has started work for a PS3/PSP project, and the other - for a game planner - states the following:
"This company has worked on the Wild Arms series, one of the RPGs that is representative of Japan. This time, we're trying out production of a new title for PSP and PS3. We'd like to make it into a title in which we can take pride, one that appeals to users not just in Japan, but around the world as well."
Lastly, they add that whatever the mystery game is, it isn't a "light game" and it's a "massive project that will span a long term." Okay, well, that sort of sounds like an epic RPG, doesn't it? We don't want to jump to any conclusions and we kinda wanted to see another Wild Arms effort, but we'll wait and see what this new original IP might be. The RPGs have really started to flow this generation and although we've already seen quite a few gems, we could always use more in the way of time-consuming, level-grinding goodness.

were getting a flood of RPGs latley, theres a flood of shooters as usual, heaps of racers, so maybe its time for platformers to come back in and take their rightful spot on the top of the pyramid?
i really miss the old days on ps1 and even ps2, we use to have a platformer every month but the last platformer that came out was R&C ACIT freaking 7 months ago!!!!!
who do i have to kill to get some decent platformers out there?

Hopefully that means a great Japanese RPG that can be enjoyed by westerners as a Japanese game, rather than being a westernized JRPG.
