Sony: What PS2 Titles Should Go High-Def On PS3?
God of War IILate last year, Sony released The God of War Collection, which featured high-def remastered versions of the first two installments in the esteemed franchise.
Now, Sony wants to know what other PS3 classics should make high-definition resurgences on the PlayStation 3. It has long since been rumored that a collection featuring ICO and Shadow of the Colossus is headed our way, but right now, there's no concrete or official evidence to support the speculation. Even so, you can give them your input by responding to a GoWIII survey Sony apparently sent around; a NeoGAF forumite has posted the last question:
"What titles would you like to see in a future collection (2 or more PS2 titles upgraded with similar features to God of War Collection)?"
Oh man, they're bound to get a bunch of different responses. Perhaps on the top of the list will be games like Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty or - dare we hope - Twisted Metal: Black? There were plenty of classics in the PS2 days and many of them would greatly benefit from a jump to high-def Blu-Ray and Trophy support. Which titles would you most like to see shine once more?

I still think is is a really really good game, it may be just a cell-shaded game with an image filter, either way I believe it didn't get all the hype it deserved.

Look at Jak and Daxter, 4.2 million. Then the seque, Jak II 1.6 million, and then Jak 3 1.33 million. That is a hell of a drop off for what is considered to be a popular series of games.

Furthermore I wouldn't buy a game later in the series without having played the ones earlier because I'd be afraid of being lost which is why MGS collection and GoW HD remakes were so useful (though I haven't picked either up but I need to so I can actually play MGS4 and GoW3)
Kingdom Hearts would be my pick from that list. Second would probably be Dynasty Warriors 3 with some added features of course (same sound track though and level layouts)
BTW Highlander I'm curious what you would think of an Ecco: Defender of the Future HD remake. I honestly think logically speaking that game would benefit the most and come out looking beautiful.

As an example in today's PS3 market, Uncharted 2 sold better than Uncharted 1. It should be noted that the install base was higher when uncharted 2 launched than when Uncharted 1 did, but also the PS3 has not been hacked, so there is no piracy.

Lets face it, none of those titles got as much press, awards, and hype as Uncharted 2 did... honestly how many accolades did that masterpiece claim?
Isn't it like comparing apples to oranges...
Furthermore, used games were widely available through the likes of gamestop since as long as I can remember. Also how many people do you know that owned a ps2 that could play back-ups of games a few years back. Aside from me I knew zero people, and mostly everyone I knew had a PS2.
For the record, I used swap magic with my PS2 just for the sole purpose of playing custom Guitar Hero 2 games.

But, in my ps2 days, I also had the original Xbox, Gamecube, PC and Dreamcast running. Guess I didn't spend too much time on any one thing. My ps3 replaced them all fairly easily.

I would like to also see Ring of Red remastered as well. Its gameplay style was similar to Valkyria Chronicles. Because it was such an early PS2 release I don't think a lot of people knew about it. It was definitely a sleeper hit in my book.

I kid the less fortunate, but fo sho it's one of the main reasons I bought the 60 and not the 40 gig, so I can replay Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 when ever I feel like it.
No, but really, you should all have bought a 60 gig, because it's just so damn awesome and different than the rest.

Man I loved that game
EDIT: Meh but at the same time I can still easily play them again right now because the graphics weren't bad at all.
OMG how could I forget... Ecco: Defender of the Future. That game looked beautiful and all it was, was a port from the dreamcast. Imagine that in full HD. Honestly if you think there would be a better looking game you might need to get your eyes checked :P

Draken the Ancient Gates - must have played this about 6 times.
Cold Fear - criminally underappreciated horror/survival game.
Project Snowblind - my favorite FPS on the PS2.
All the Onimusha games, and add support for the analog sticks please!

I didn't get to play all of the Jak and Daxter/Rachet and Clank games but having that series should also be remastered in HD excluding Rachet and Clank Future.
I would love to see Max Payne 1 & 2 remastered but it was on multiple platforms. I would expect that Sony will remaster ICO and Shadow of the Colossus(I thought SoTC was awesome :D)
I don't know if any of you remember that Drakan II: The Ancient Gates was also an exclusive(the first game was on the PC I think). I don't know remember any other titles that were exclusive except MGS 2 and 3. I'm sure there were plenty of other games.

definitely a Team ICO collection - i'm ready to pre-order a pre-order LOL ;)
others would be: Resident Evil series, Indigo Prophecy (Farenheit), Mortal Kombat series (LOL, yeah i'm a fan!), maybe Silent Hill or Tomb raider series.

MGS2 and MGS3! And yeah, Onimusha (so that I can give it a try. I still haven't been able to play any Onimusha game, so bring it on.)

Metal Gear Solid, Ico and SotC are obvious choices. FFX ...nah, even though I'm a huge FF fan (well ..not as much anymore really)
I'm sure there are some people that would want stuff like .Hack or Xenosaga (never played either really)
