Portuguese PlayStation Mag Confirms inFamous 2?

We've all assumed Sucker Punch is working on a new inFamous, and now, we're sorta hoping it gets unveiled at E3 in a few weeks.

The good news is, the way things are shaping up, that's very likely to happen. Not only have we seen the evidence of an "inFamous 2" due to recent domain registrations, but there's now some print proof, too. According to ScrawlFX citing the Portuguese edition of PlayStation: The Official Magazine, the announcement is just around the corner. Towards the end of next month's issue, there's a picture of the eyes of Cole MacGrath, with the words, "The announcement of a great PlayStation 3 exclusive sequel in the next ROPS." Yes, well, that'll do nicely. inFamous was one of our favorite games of 2009 and we would most definitely welcome a sequel; all we really want is a new environment and storyline (and maybe a few new abilities), and we'll be plenty happy. The gameplay didn't really need much in the way of tweaking, so don't do anything drastic...like turn it into a FPS, or something. I'm sure they won't do that; I'm just making a point.

Anyway, considering the timing, it's more likely than ever that inFamous 2 will be ceremoniously unveiled at E3. We can't wait to get a peek.

I cannot wait for this! I didn't realize how much I enjoyed playing the first one until I watched my brother playing it a couple months after I beat it.

There are things other than a new environment and storyline i would like to see.

1-Plz improve the graphics , the framerate drops and the numerous glitches.
2-i Would love to see real cutscenes , am not a big fan of the comic book ones, maybe a mixture of both would be great.
3-When choosing being a villain or a hero there is no difeerence in the story or the powers at all , they are just making it feel like you have a choice when in fact its basically the same being good or bad.

I did love the game however , and isa will buy the sequel as soon as it hits the shelves. :D

Its mean to be a comic book. Origin story of a superhero. I thought that was awesome about it and that's why I liked the psp versions of metal gear because of the comic book style.

Not sure what you're on about, the graphics were great. If there was too much on screen the frame rate might drop but that's more often than not to be expected, and you did indeed unlock different powers based on being Good or Evil.

They didn't thumb you down because of your opinion, its because your gripes are either inaccurate or not worth griping about.

The graphics were fine.
Frame rates drop in every game, it wasn't any worse in inFamous then any other game. in fact it was much less noticeable.
And unless you were playing with your eyes closed the powers did differ based on Good or Evil.

lol at someone letting thumbs down or up get to them. There weren't many huge changes in the story but they are there. And like others have said, you must have played a different game than us, as the powers did vary depending on if you were good or evil.

Especially his rocket-like attack, it homes in on the next target shot by ur normal shock attack. Shoot a bunch of them into the air, then shoot a normal bolt, watch it rain down with speed like the 4th of july on their ass lol. Only does this if you are good though

XD, yeah, I hope they won't make such an 180 degree turn in gameplay.

Anyways, I really hope for a second one, since the first one was really awesome, except for Trish, man did I dislike that woman... I zapped her once and died because I wasn't supposed to, I find I was supposed to, after all the b*tching and blaming and whatnot, sheesh -_-
But yeah, go Sucker Punch, just don't Sucker Punch me, I won't see it coming...
Also, don't sucker punch us in the way Ben suggested, with making the second installment an FPS...

@World/laxpro... I hear what you guys are shout'n... I could either get the first one on the cheap, or just wait for number two, which should have a decent amount of improvements to the game engine, environments and characters... I dunno, is it not worth saving the dollars for number two?

I'm sure World will agree with me that you definitely should play the first one before the second so you won't be completely lost in the story... Then again you could always look up the plot but where is the fun in that?

I'm not sure of your financial situation but at the same time Infamous 2 won't be out for a pretty long time considering it hasn't been officially unveiled yet. So I think you'll definitely have ample time to save money for the second installment.

And who knows though you might save yourself some money if it turns out you don't like the first one and would rather not pick the second one up... but I don't see that being likely :)

Yes, get the first one, I mean you should be able to scrape $30 together. And you'll be that much more psyched for the second one and get to experience the story and gameplay. Just, don't miss it if it can be helped.

Greatest superhero character this gen.

Cole is the ROUGH, low voice superhero who will do anything to make "THEM" pay.

That's what I like 'bout him. He's the kind of character who any guy can respect.

A sequel to this game would be beautiful. The gameplay is so addictive. It almost reminds me of a SNES game in the sense that the gameplay is a big focus of the game. Sure there's a solid story, but gameplay that's different from mission to mission is really impressive.

Just give us more moves, more environments and even more variety and this could be a Uncharted 2-like sequel. Yeah, these guys are capable of big things.

I agree and think that's a really good description of him. He was less noble than all the other "goody two shoes" superheroes in spandex. It really felt like you were controlling a guy that ended up getting super powers and it was up to you to help the city or help destroy it.

The most surprising thing about inFamous was that it was so addictive. Even with other solid sandbox games like GTAIV and RDR, I have no problem saving and coming back to it later if I've got something to do, but when it came to Cole's plight I found myself passing on things like dinner or TV shows I liked because I was glued to the game, even when it became seriously difficult it just made me want to keep playing to move forward.

Keep this feeling and I'll be happy. Definitely a preorder for me.

One day i started playing in the early evening, when i finally decided to quit, it was 2am. haha it felt like an hour had gone by. This is the only game that's done that to me.

my only gripe were the side missions. Some of them were a chore to do cuz it just wasnt fun, the one im talking about is when someone ask you to get rid of the listening devices on their apartment

yeah, I the side missions were repetative, but at least in inFamous they accomplished something by cleaning up the area. In other games all they do is help you get 100% completion which is lame.

Super glad to hear this, almost as glad as when I heard prototype was being produced.... (-; ...haha seriously though, Infamous was fresh and I fail for not yet having beat it. In a way though I'm glad I haven't because its a game that I keep plucking away at every couple months and its keeping it really fresh for me. Can't wait to see what sucker punch is up to with the next one, like Ben and others have said just don't do anything insanely drastic to the gameplay mechanics. Also, I'm going to get modnation racers tomorrow, anyone have it, if so, what do you think of it so far?

Game is really good. All the reviews I've read have said its a great game. The load times are a bit long though but once you're playing the game you forget about it. Custom soundtracks make everything all the better and the custom creation is awesome. Hope that helps.

It would be sweet if SP gave everyone a little tease during E3 next month. I'm so glad I paid full price for this game, it was worth every penny.

And I do agree that there should be a few new powers, new environments, and delving a little more into the storyline. The first game left me wanting more and I'm in the middle of playing it for the fifth time! Just can't get enough of the game. Good job Sucker Punch and keep it coming!

I loved the first one. Even my youngest brother liked which surprised me because when it was released he thought prototype was going to be the better sandbox title. I let him play it and when I came back home for winter break he just looked at me and said "Hey...ok inFamous is F#$&@*NG awesome!" I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel.

I loved the first one it was amazing, but I never got around to beat it because of all the great games out. I guess I am going to have to pick it up again in time for the sequel. hopefully soon. I'm really excited for the sequel.

meh, give me prototype 2 yes i said it prototype > Infamous. any ways just kidding. I can't wait for infamous 2 i am sick of infamous the trophy hunting takes way to long. i am on the 2nd island on my 2nd play through the evil side and i just can't get my self to finish it.

@natalisrubbish- Don't get ModNation get Blur or Split/Second. I have all 3 and personaly i play more of the other two then Modnation i don't know what, but something just rubs me the wrong way on ModNation racers.

Eh, I think I will get mod nation, I appreciate your input, but modnation isn't even supposed to be the same type of game as blur or split second. I really enjoy Little big planet so im fairly certain mod nation would be a game I would enjoy.

The original one felt quite slow to me, I played the demo and could not get into it. I am genuinely surprised by its fan-base.

A couple things I forgot to mention in my early comment (mind you I'm wildly excited about this game). There are a few things I hope they fix/change in the sequel. First, a couple times my game would freeze but I would hear the sound in the background, but my character would be stuck in the motion he was doing at the time or would just stand there still. Not sure what the cause of it is.

The other thing is the plot. There were some things that didn't make sense or weren't even explained. Like who is Sasha? I still don't know who the heck she is... And the way they presented Trish, I really didn't care about her.

Also, possibly more variety in enemy types. Instead of three gangs all with guns, with small variances. (nitpicky)

i really hope they announce it at E3 so we know its coming but than i hope they take their time with it i really want this to be a great game.
infamous is one of my favorite titles this gen so the sequel has allot to live up to!
i hope they give us a new city, larger and more things to explore, climb. and give us a massive graphical overhaul the graphics in infamous were terrible lacked color. just black and grey kinda boring!!!
other than those change nothing, i really enjoyed infamous and will be extremely pissed if they change it. cough splinter cell conviction cough BFBC2.

Looking forward to this one, but I just got to find time to start up the first one that's sitting on my shelf, along with a ton of other titles( just as soon as I'm all finished with The Saboteur,that is).
