Little League World Series Swings Onto PS3, 360 This Summer
Look, it's Memorial Day. What do you want, huge news headlines from public relations firms and publishers who aren't at work today?
Up to this point, one could only find Activision's Little League World Series titles on Nintendo platforms, but according to Joystiq, it has been revealed that the latest iteration will find its way to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Little League World Series 2010 will be out in July and give kids the chance to swing for the fences in Little League's most prestigious nationwide competition. Most of us never got anywhere near the LLWS when playing back in the day, so it might be fun to take part of the virtual reincarnation. Said Activision's David Oxford:
"We felt it was time to finally bring the popular Little League series to gamers playing Xbox 360 and PlayStation(R)3. Little League(R) World Series Baseball 2010 is visually stunning and packed with tons of new content, while remaining an accessible pick-up-and-play game for the whole family."
It sort of reminds us of Backyard Baseball but it had best turn out a whole lot better. The only odd part about this piece of news is that apparently, they have every intention of leaving the Wii and DS behind; Little League World Series 2010 has only been announced for the PS3 and 360...it seems entirely illogical on the surface but we're sure Activision has their reasons.

Market 1 70 million Wii users that mostly only buy Nintendo games and a very, very saturated DS market where sales are dying for a large number of DS titles with only a small and select few selling huge amounts.
Market 2:
PS3 and 360 where users tend to buy more diverse games and more games per user are purchased.
