Fifth Devil May Cry Not On Capcom's Future Schedule
The rumors of a fifth Devil May Cry have been circulating for several months now but Capcom apparently doesn't see it in the near future.
The most recent rumor centered on Heavenly Sword developer Ninja Theory; it's a common belief that Capcom tapped the talented action game designer to handle the next DMC entry, even though it's well known that Ninja Theory is hard at work on Enslaved. Despite that, the rumor-mongers continue their attempts to convince the doubters; they say the developer in question is actually working on both projects simultaneously. We've even heard that DMC5 might surprise everyone by exploding at E3 in a few weeks time, but according to Connected Consoles citing the latest edition of PSM3 magazine, the rumor has taken a hit. "The Insider" section of the publication says a US source reiterates that Ninja Theory is working on the fifth Dante adventure, but it's not on Capcom's two-year schedule. So yeah, if it does pop up at E3, it will most certainly be a surprise at this point.
And don't be casting aspersions on the awesome DMC franchise. With the exception of the second title, these games always kicked ass...so somebody had best do another one!
