Quantic's New Game Called Horizon, Story "Already Written?"
After the immense success that was Heavy Rain, everyone is wondering about Quantic Dream's next project.
Studio boss David Cage has already said they won't do a sequel to their immensely impressive February title, so it's not surprising to hear the rumor about a brand new IP. According to VG247, it seems Cage's next game is called "Horizon," and will revolve around an interesting 20-something couple. The plot, which may or may not be science-fiction, centers on "a curious man raised very insularly meeting a free woman who is hesitant to exercise her freedom." And although the source in question isn't 100% on this, the storyline sounds like the guy has to "break the girl out of her shell." ...however, if we're reading the first bit correctly, that doesn't sound quite right. We don't know anything else about this very young project just yet but to hear its prime focus is story and character development is no big shock, and you can bet that Heavy Rain fans will be anxiously awaiting the official unveiling. The good news? A few months ago, Cage said their next game is "already written" and that it will be "very different" and "very surprising."
And yes, it seems Sony is once again the publisher for this new IP. They're probably not so skittish this time about pushing Quantic's new title, not with Heavy Rain easily topping 1 million units sold and heading towards the 1.5 million mark.

Heavy Rain was a breath of fresh air to my gaming routine and I can wait longer for something that will feel fresh and amazing again.
If I were the bigwigs at Sony I would buy QD already, they better keep this style of gaming exclusive to the PS3 :)

When you have a dream and a vision for your games you will always continue to push your ideas through.
Why create Nariko and Kai, such lovable/legendary characters if you're just going to throw them away?
But yes, Horizon sounds like a very engaging title. These guys always get the perfect word(s) for their games. They're not 'bout the fanciest title either, just a thoughtful word does the job

Guess NT are just greedy. I assume HR cost way more to develop than HS, yet QD/Cage are very happy with its 1-1.5$mil sales. Wheres NT call such numbers "disappointing".
Well, I don't expect much from Enslaved, thus NT can create as many new IPs as they please and ditch their lovable characters for all I care XD.
QD all the way for me, baby ^^

Oh yeah. another QD title on the PS3. I like that trend. QD did already an awesome job on Heavy Rain, and as they know Sony's hardware already and don't need to focus on multi-plat development I'm expecting a lot from Horizon.
I mean monsieur Cage and QD did not disappoint with HR, which I was anticipating eagerly, and proven already that experiments can be commercially successful, even with some minor flaws.
Guess we can expect a lot more from Sony at E3 than assumed. I'd be surprised if Sony doesn't show some brand new IPs, besides all those excellent sequels we already know of.
E3 2010 might be way more fun than I expected.

But ya know what????
I'm starting to see these spammers as being a free PSXE game. And whoever can hit each spammer's "Wack-A-Mole" button the quickest, wins themselves a free PSXE air guitar.

id like to see them take on another serial killer, or maybe a psychological thriller.
serial killer storyline just seem to suit them perfectly though.
i cant see a QD styled game in any other style.
i really need to play Fahrenheit wish sony would hurry the %$#@ up and announce a HD remake of that.

And while this news is certainly exciting, I'm more immediately curious as to Quantic's plans concerning downloadable content for 'Heavy Rain.'
I haven't heard anything since 'The Taxidermist' was released, are they still planning on releasing more?
