Pachter: My Twisted Metal Comment Is "Purely Conjecture"
See Full ImageYou may have heard analyst Michael Pachter supposedly outing Eat Sleep Play's new project, revealing it as a new Twisted Metal despite David Jaffe's recent claims that he's certainly not working on any such title.
Now, Pachter admits to his erroneous statement, saying that it was just "a guess." He has clarified to Eurogamer that what he previously said about a new TM being a big title for Sony wasn't based on inside information. Everyone was getting very excited but it appears we're not allowed to get all pumped up because Pachter "knows nothing" about Jaffe's new project. Said the Wedbush Morgan industry analyst:
"I know nothing about what David [Jaffe] is working on, other than that it is a 'really great game', according to him, but I suppose that goes without question. My Twisted Metal comment is purely conjecture, it's the game I hope he's working on, but I do not have confirmation from him about it, and have not been briefed by anyone under NDA.
It wasn't a slip, it was an intentional comment, and it is just my best guess as to what he's working on. For the sake of the gaming community, I hope I'm right."
Well, damn. We were kinda hoping that would be considered concrete proof and for a while, everyone was assuming that Pachter had accidentally made the announcement we've all been waiting for. Incidentally, after the mistake, Jaffe Tweeted that what the analyst said was "a joke" and he remains adamant that he's not working on a new Twisted Metal. 'sigh'

anyone read the article where he said the 360 is "too hardcore"???
honestly that is the stupidest thing i have ever heard! id expect a statement like that from a 8 year old, not a adult who is also a "pro" on the industry.
