Rumor: Kim Kardashian To Become The Next Lara Croft

Kim Kardashian is a lot of things, and that includes a nude model for PlayBoy (as tastefully depicted here, I believe). But an actress...?

Well, maybe she is; the hell do we know? According to Showbiz Spy, the curvaceous beauty, currently well known for her TV show, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," has a shot at landing the leading lady role in the next "Tomb Raider" movie. She would replace Angelina Jolie and although we know nothing about the project - it could even be a straight-to-video thing, which would be sorta funny - it's still going to be a big deal for Kim. The source in question says:

"This will be something very different to Angelina’s Lara. Kim is wanted to play a far more comic-strip version of Lara which would be shot in 3-D and aimed at a teen audience."

Evidently, Kardashian, 29, has been talking about how she wants to act more, and she even took acting lessons for a guest role on "CSI: NY." Furthermore, it seems she "gets scripts sent to her all the time, but unlike so many other famous people she doesn't just want to make a film without first learning the craft." Well, that's certainly a good idea and even noble in its own way, so if true, we should give the woman credit. It's easy to dismiss this idea as just another hot model looking for another money-making venue. ...and while I still think I'm gonna do that, I will reserve judgment for now.

And besides, I normally don't like searching for new pics for articles. But this time...could've done that a while longer. Jesus...what the hell.

Nice find of a pic. But I must say, there is nothing tasteful about a chick with a body for sin laying on her back with her legs spread open with only a sheet covering her.

Angelina has sort of a roughneck quality that makes her perfect as Lara. I can only picture Kim prancing around in high heels complaining when she breaks a nail.

When they say "aimed at a teen audience," they are lying. Clearly they are aiming for the 18-35 year-old male range.

And probably one of the last things the industry needs is an immature movie based on a video game. I don't think that really helps our image too much.

But I could be wrong.

I'm sick of them trying to sell video game movies with sex appeal. that's the 2nd biggest flaw with the genre. eye candy is fine but i'd rather have a slighty less attractive lead if she has mad talent as opposed to the Megan Fox type.

Yeah it has. The Guardian of Light looks like a huge step back from the PS One era entries to the franchise.

They turned a solid platformer into a top down shooter, where you move with the left stick and shoot with the right stick.

sure why not? the game went to hell, the movie may as well too. What I don't understand is why this franchise is getting rebooted. its not like there's a sudden interest in Lara Croft anymore. Besides, wasn't Croft British or something? Hearing her fake an accent is gonna be funny as hell.

As far as Kim Kardashian, she has a great bod, nice ass, and little to no personality. She'd make a great Bayonetta.

It boggles my mind that our society has ran out of celebrities to worship. Nowadays there are a ton of people who are famous for being famous.

Sure she is pretty hot, but they should probably cast someone who knows how to act in the movie. A pretty face/body only goes so far.

Let's see:

Lara Croft is a photo journalist (or something like that, I don't exactly remember), she's sexy, intelligent, a classy dame, with a fine british accent...

From previous movies, I have seen NONE of that, Angelina Jolie was a lame Croft and this celebrity wanna-be has either sh*t of Croft's charm or qualities...

Lame, lame...

Sounds lousier than all Resident Evil movies...

IMHO, I would recommend Lucy Pinder for another Lara Croft movie...

Awful idea...I think Paramount (it's Paramount, isn't it? I can't remember) is missing an opportunity. They have a chance to reboot this "franchise." What they don't need is to make it cheesier.

My idea: Go younger: Jessica Biel. She's cute; she's done an accent in the Illusionist; and she can do butt-kicking action (Blade Trinity).

I agree with many of the comments. Who in the hell thought that this pairing would be a good idea? Why can't Hollywood just let bad ideas climb into the bushes to die. Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider games have failed to be good for quite a while now, and the movies never were. Let it die, please.

What's wrong with her left eye? Anyways, if she's taking the time to learn how to act maybe she should take the time to pick a halfway decent script. I'm not saying it will be absolutely repulsive,(well it might be) but a 3D movie based on a game aimed at teens?? And if she just has a bad taste in scripts which she apparently gets all the time, well that's what your agent(s) are good for.

the last one was ok, but lacked direction and attention to detail.

Just let the series die if they are going to do this. Prince of Persia actually brought some respectability to video game movies. If they go through with this, it will be a major step backwards in my opinion. She's pretty to look at, but in no way is casting Kim as Lara taking a film project seriously.
