PSXE Poll Update: Gamers Undecided On Black Ops
Well, that glossy debut trailer may have swayed some of our readers, because the results from this past week's poll aren't exactly definitive.
I think it goes without saying that the PSXE community as a whole isn't all that enamored with the massively popular Call of Duty series, but after the explosive debut of that trailer, and the promises of a more robust single-player campaign, we wanted to know what y'all thought... And as it turns out, while the largest chunk still say they don't care about the game, the rest is split almost evenly between "looks awesome," "looks good," and "maybe." Regardless of personal preference, you really can't deny the inherent quality of most all CoD shooters and Black Ops developer Treyarch has proven themselves again and again. The idea of using Vietnam as a new environment - amongst other new locales - is a good one in our view, and as a blockbuster piece of entertainment, the new installment could really fit the bill. We would suggest giving it a chance but of course, as it comes out on November 9, there may be all sorts of competition for it... Can anyone say, Gran Turismo 5?
And speaking of GT5, let's find out when you think the release date will be: it sits at November 1 in GameStop's database but we all know it's a placeholder date. Sony has been adamant in their claims that it will absolutely be out before the end of the year, and recent rumors place it as early as September. We're really hoping for an official date at E3, which is why we're asking now...whaddya say?

That's just what happens during development
Polyphony has the luxury to fully polish the game
Plans change and with Heavy Rain, WKC, GOWIII, and FFXIII all releasing exactly where GT5 was gonna release, it's a wise decision by SONY
I still don't see how it was a joke. They COULD have released it early this year. But it's evident that Sony's smart and wants to maximize this game's potential and sale value this Autumn

As for GT5, I've got GT PSP to keep me busy, along with getting all trophies in Heavy Rain, God of War 3 and FF XIII. If GT5 will be as revolutionary as Yamauchi says, I can wait.
Good things come those who are patient.

thats like me saying:
The Genocides in the Europe should never be portrayed in a game. Still can't believe those idiot developers at pretty much every single major game publisher even went there bastards
dont get me wrong, i appreciate the sacrifice every soldier gave for our country... i just believe vietnam vets deserve to have their story told to.
even though blacks ops isn't just in vietnam.

Either way, it depends who you are, American or Vietnamese...
I don't think Treyarch really cares either way, they make the game as they see fit, telling the most accurate of stories from either side (that is... if both sides are playable in the game... which I don't think is the case).
Therefore, if it's not, and only the American side is playable, then I am sure they will try their best to create an accurate experience for the player... playing Black Ops missions that probably took place, or at least very similar. Don't know how much of the historical information they obtained - if at all - was declassified to the extent they could actually reproduce actual mission scenarios that really took place...
I guess we won't know. If everything is in fact fabricated, then from the US perspective, those playable missions in Black Ops were essential to "win" the war...

Those two games are the best in their respective categories. You either buy one and not the other or you buy both. No one one earth who wants both are going to only buy one and then deny themselves the other.

Tbh, i've never even finished all the races in GT4 simply because how the AI will slam into your car and run you off the track. Still a great game, but the AI is just horrendous.
I hope it launches in september. I hope it is released tomorrow, really. But i dont expect GT5 until October.

I will wind up settling for a multiple-locale game, but only if they give us SP mode players a full "equalized" game this time ¬ some damned time-hacked 1/4 of a game, gimped in order to maximize the MP mode.
Otherwise, it's just another wait for this one to hit the used $10 bargain bin

Also the $15 for 2 new maps and 2 recycled, and having the nerve to market it as a "Stimulus Package" is pretty insulting. The only thing that stimulated was Bobby Koticks deep pockets.

Some of the things that I would like to see in this is a more lively environment with robust color and diversity. Also, I really doubt the controls will be changed but if they were I would be glad. I don't mean anything drastic but after hours of online play I would like something a bit new. There are definitely some glitches in the online play which I would like to see fixed and of course, what everybody else is looking for, a good single player campaign.
So, overall I guess in the most ideal circumstances I would receive a shooter with diverse and rich environments with weight and kickback along with an in depth and intriguing story line and a mp function that wasn't filled with glitches and morons. More destructibility would be nice as well. It's a lot to ask but after playing every COD made so far, those are the tings that would keep me interested in the series.

black ops because well most of the games treyarch release are pretty crap.
QOS is by far the best game they have made and that was alright, had its moments but nothing special.
GT5, well thats obvious!
i can only hold interest in something for so long.
i mean some developers like insomniac have released 5 read it 5!!!!! games in the time that PD have released.......... well none!
prologue does not count because that was just a 50 dollar demo.
im much more excited for F.3.A.R, red faction Armageddon and crysis 2.
saw the GT preview of crysis 2 yesterday its looking amazing!!!!!!!!!!
speaking of fear i wonder what monolith are working on.
there last title was fear 2 back in feb 09 i wonder what they have been doing since then.
i really hope its a new IP, a game to make us sh*t our pants.
if not hopefully its a new condemned game.
i really enjoyed condemned 2 it was actually quite scary and fun.
especially the detective parts of the game they were really cool!
they needed way more of those.

paxton fettel is the main character in fear 3 you wont know who he is and his relation with alma if you have not played fear 1.
its on ps3 even so if you dont want to get it on PC get it for ps3, though the pc version is much better.
as for the expansion packs its really up too you they really dont add that much too the story.
fear 1 is the must because its the only one which deals with paxton the main character in F.3.A.R
