Respawn Founders Tease "Big Announcement" For E3
See Full ImageWe all want to leave the Activision/Infinity Ward nastiness behind us and return to a focus on gaming, especially because there's such great talent involved in the aforementioned snafu.
So, now that embattled former IW execs Jason West and Vince Zampella have started up their own studio - Respawn Entertainment (still have to chuckle when I read the name) - and they've already secured a publisher in EA, we all want to know: whatcha makin'? Well, according to the Facebook page for the resurrected dynamic duo, we're going to get a massive announcement at E3 next week. The update is pretty straightforward:
"Big time announcement at E3 next week. Stay tuned, kiddies!"
This follows hot on the heels of what EA Partners head man David DeMartini said last month, which is in contrast to the West/Zampella announcement: "I don't think we're going to see anything from them [Respawn] at E3," he said. But then again, let's maybe read between the lines...we won't see anything from them, but we don't necessarily "see" an announcement, now do we? We know it's very early; hell, the studio just opened their doors a little while back, so we shouldn't expect huge debut trailers for whatever they've got in the hopper. An announcement and pertinent details of the game in question, however...? Sure, why not?
We'll definitely be interested to hear what Respawn has to say next week, that's for sure. They've got half the Infinity Ward team over there by now, don't they? j/k

i saw them last year and they still had it on, my ears are still ringing from that show.
what they said is right though, most bands dont know how to put on a show if there life depended on it!

Yep, they will announce another FPS, the first could be good, then the next 50 will be the same game with different weapons, over and over and over again. What they should announce is a TPS, or perhaps even crazier a Plat-former!

If they went the TPS route, I could see them making a amazing game but selling too little of it as is always the case. For sure they will make another FPS, it's a no brainer.

I hope they do release a FPS and they should release it a week or two before the COD's come out. Then hopefully they will get the sales they deserve ( provided the game is good obviously.)

In terms of this duo, it would be really nice to see them produce something we'll remember. If not just for the simple idea of having a great game, then for all the publicity and drama surrounding these two as of late. Hooray for conflict!
