Agent Remains PS3 Exclusive, Mafia II Demo Incoming

Here are a few extra tidbits to go along with Take-Two's Q2 earnings report:

Firstly, yes, it does seem as if GameSpot is dead flat wrong and that Take-Two hasn't sold 5 million copies of Red Dead Redemption; they've shipped that many units. That sounds far more realistic. Secondly, Take-Two boss Ben Feder confirmed that another highly anticipated sandbox adventure, Mafia II, will receive the benefit of a demo before it launches on August 24. They call it a "comprehensive demo program on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, PSN, and the internet (PC)," and will give us a taste of what to expect from the final product. Thirdly and lastly, although we still have no new information on the game, Take-Two did confirm that Agent remains exclusive to the PlayStation 3. Publisher boss Strauss Zelnick simply said, "there's no change in situation on that title," which is good news for PS3 fans, because it has been rumored the delay in detailing was due to Take-Two's decision to take the game multiplatform. Heck, it already happened with L.A. Noire, remember?

But evidently, we needn't concern ourselves with that, as the team continues to hammer away on Agent with the knowledge that they only have to worry about one platform. But because Rockstar won't be showing anything at E3 this year, we're wondering when we might catch a glimpse...

Exciting news to be sure. Mafia II is on my list of upcoming titles to buy, and a demo will certainly make that decision easier.

R* said they didn't get enough time allotted to them at E3 to showcase all of their games, so R*'s going to be doing their own press conference show very soon.

i'm more excited about rockstar's press conference than E3... they'll be stealing the show and they won't even be there, lol... they've got a buttload of games to show off, can't wait...

I'm glad Agent is still Exclusive, been worried about it for sometime. Very glad some can keep the promise, because not many do.

At least one company which doesn't make it's exclusives go multiplatform even though all the trailers said it would be PS3 exclusive *cough* S-E *cough* alright, except for LA noir then -_- they still need money to make their big PS3 exclusives, Square didn't, they just wanted the money.
Come to think of it, after turning all that profit with rdr, does rockstar even need the money to keep Agent exclusive, maybe they already have it, then why would LA noire go multiplat.
so many questions -_- I'm too laze to answer them.

I think they will keep it exclusive cuz they are cool like that. But if they haven't been able to get anywhere on Agent yet then why not just wait until this year to announce it?

I look forward to trying the demo for mafia 2, I really enjoyed the first one.

Too bad they aren't showing us something from agent. Hard to get excited over a name and little else.

I guess R* wants Agent to be an open world game that is not gimped by the DVD. I say good for them. We are all certainly aware that they could make a game that takes full advantage of a BD. If they keep their promise about Agent they'll more than likely find me out there buying it on day one.

maybe with agent exclusive, a free roam game will finally be impressive and niggles/glitches/absolutely fu**ing stupid performance issues free this generation.

No, you're not the only one who's confused the two titles. And yes, "The Agency" is by SOE (Sony Online Entertainment who is also responsible for EverQuest) and, like EverCrack, is an MMO. I've even seen IGN falsely advertise it for the 360, but since it's a Sony product, although it may also be on the PC, it won't be coming to the 360.

And yes, "Agent" is by R*, and is currently in development as a PS3 exclusive. It is an open-world game, a la GTA, that takes place in the 70's. With any luck, it will remain an exclusive and take advantage of Bluray.

That would be the most bland logo of all time...but we shouldn' expect Agent until probably sometime next year...if even that. We haven't really heard anything about the title or seen anything about it. It sounds like a fairly massive game so will take a lot of time to develop.

I'm sorry to this here but I'm not sure where else to. I come to this site just about everyday. It's like my morning newspaper read and I know Ben isn't a big fan of fps, but the lack of Mag news on here is kinda getting to me. I mean they just launched there biggest patch ever yesterday and then announced there new Dlc. Yet we don't even get a word about it on here, but we sure heard all about mw2 new maps, which btw were a rip off. Sooo what gives. Mag is a ps3 exclusive and does something no other fps out there can do. I remember someone asking ben if he'd ever do a follow up review for Mag after it had been out awhile. I'm not saying now is the time but they have made great strides with this game and the teamwork and communication is alot better than when he first played now that all the Cod fanboys have left realizing they had to put some actuall thought into the game. Anyways sorry fot the offtopic, long post, but I just want to feel the love.

god dam it R* just give us a preview of Agent already!!!!!!!!!!!
you cant announce a game than reveal nothing about it for a year, its really starting to piss me off.
same goes for max payne 3, it was announced ages ago and we have not heard boo since!
same for LA Noire its been in development for 5 freaking years one of the guys from OPM AU left to join team bondi.
5 years and what do we know about the game?
besides the 5 pages we got in gameinformer thats about all we know.
5 years and all we have is 5 pages!!!
R* may make some decent games, decent not great, but god dam they sure know how to take their sweet fu*king time!!!
