Square-Enix's Flashy Digital Download: Necromachina
Update: We just got the e-mail from Square-Enix that includes the announcement of this game (along with Space Invaders: Infinity Gene), so it's coming to the US. Still don't know when, though.
Original Story:
Okay, so Square-Enix isn't exactly on the good side of old-school Squaresoft fans. But maybe they'll be happy about a digital effort.
Square-Enix has a new game coming for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade; it's called Moon Diver (or as it's known here, "Necromachina"), and it features flashy ninjas, crazy speedy action, and 2.5D side-scrolling goodness. All in good fun, the previous article pokes a little fun at the storyline, just 'cuz we know this game will be centered on the gameplay. But anyway, the plot involves a boy named Faust and his army of monstrous creatures, which brought humanity to its knees. Currently, the human army is decimated and the monsters are just running amok. But five brave souls emerge from the catastrophic disaster and plot their revenge; these five are - apparently - the "Moon Divers," and they will do everything in their power to bring humanity back to their rightful positions. Based on the screenshots we see there, this could really turn out to be an epic downloadable title, so we'll wait patiently for release information...better not be restricted to Japan.
We've seen a few promising games headed to the PSN, so keep your eyes open on Tuesdays. If you didn't catch it, Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype is pretty awesome.

J/K well kind of just kidding. It does seem like something they would do at this point.
