E3 2010: Ubisoft Reveals Project Dust, New Rayman
The last part of Ubisoft's conference we will report involves the announcement of a couple new digital titles and another digital project, which isn't exactly a game.
The first is code-named Project Dust, in collaboration with Eric Chahi, who hasn't been active in the industry for nearly 12 years but still gave us gems like Heart of Darkness and Another World. This new game is set to be digitally distributed on "unnamed platforms" this coming spring and believe it or not, the video you see below does come directly from in-game footage. It certainly looks like an intriguing concept and we always love original and innovative new titles for the PSN...assuming it actually comes to the PSN, of course. We can't imagine why it wouldn't be multiplatform but in the world of digital downloads, things are a little different...
The other downloadable game holds a very recognizable name: Rayman Origins. There should be plenty of colorful and wonderfully designed environments, and the title will combine co-op with a singular atmosphere and style that everyone remembers from past entries. The last digital project on the list is maniaplanet; Ubisoft cites the popularity of trackmania and with the latest "mania," gamers can play "one of the three different gaming types," which are FPS, racing, or role-playing. Design your own levels, generate your own content, etc, etc, etc. Betas will be on the way later this year.
Okay, that should be it for Ubisoft's stuff. Next up for us- Sony's press conference at 12:00 p.m. PST.

Ea was the only saving grace of the day. They showed real games, for gamers. I am super excited for NFS Hot Pursuit, that game looks awesome. Great graphics, great looking gameplay, being able to chase down or run from your friends, this will be uber awesome.
Dead space 2 looks good, more about The old republic, Ea had a great show. M$ had the most boring and ridiculous show. With kinect if you talk about your xbox it'll interrupt what you're doing by bringing up the menu, so I guess xbox will be like fight club, we don't say xbox unless we need the menu.
Ubisoft, wow, uber disappointing. The games were displayed well to the point that most of them didn't make any sense, what was the point of that dumb laser tag game? Run back and forth while sometimes shooting a target?
Does the rayman game have a create mode, who knows they didn't make it clear. Maniaplanet, great, tell us a concept, show hardly anything from it, and it's only on pc. Meh, I really am glad tomorrow is sony, heck nintendo will be much more interesting than most of day 1.
Sorry to rant, but day 1 of e3 was just incredibly disappointing, game expo of the year and they brought weak tea.
