E3 2010: Launch Date, Price Revealed For PlayStation Move
In addition to Heroes on the Move, a game that features the likes of Ratchet, Jak, Sly Cooper, and Daxter in a Move-oriented action/adventure title, Sony has just revealed the launch details for PlayStation Move.
Set to release on September 19 in the US and September 22 in Europe, the entire PlayStation Move bundle can be had for only $99.99; this comes with the wand, PlayStation Eye and a game, Sports Champions. The individual pieces: the wand can be had for $49.99, and you can nab the analog controller for $29.99. Furthermore, Sony will give us a PlayStation 3 bundle featuring the Move, which should come as great news to those who really want to upgrade from the motion-sensing experience on the Wii. This bundle will have the Move package listed above (wand, Eye, Sports Champions) plus the standard 120GB PS3 unit for $399.99. This is about the price range Sony needs to really make this new technology successful, and with so many Move-compatible titles on the horizon, it's bound to turn plenty of heads this fall and next year. We definitely want to give it a try; after seeing demonstrations for the new Tiger Woods and Sorcery using the Move, we're convinced it's gonna be very unique, and very fulfilling.
Stay tuned as Sony's press conference rolls forward. We're still waiting on some possible surprises!

$99 bundle
PSX: Move, Eye, Game
PS3.Kombo.com: Move, Nav, Game
$99 is a bit too cheap to include Move, Eye, Nav, and game.
Either there's different $99 bundles available, or some information got incorrectly put out/omitted.
Guess it isn't ugernt, I'm just wondering what the actual bundle is going to be.

My original comment was too "meh"-like, though.
FWIW the $100 deal is not too bad, providing you don't have the Eye (I do) and the game is good.

I don't know what numbers you guys are adding up and finding this fair, but I think it's flat out too much money. Gimmicky? I wouldn't go that far. Just too much for my budget.
World, I'm with you. What sell the nav seperately? You give me the Move & Nav for $50 and it's a fair deal. $80 for both? Keep 'em.
Kraygen, this isn't a Wii. It's a PS3. Secondly, their argument is this would be the "next gen" for Wii owners, implying they'd buy PS3s for this. New buyer would be looking at figures north of $500. That's almost 2 PS3s! And, of course, only a sports game.

I don't really understand you statement that this is just to upgrade for the wii, I mean they are trying to take that crowd, but also the crowd planning to buy a wii.
The ps3 is more expensive than the wii, because it is better and does more. The move controllers are barely more expensive than the wii controllers, but they are better. If starting from scratch buying any system and controllers is expensive.
No one said you have to get the sports game, but how can you make it sound ok that a wii controller set up for $70 is ok, but a move set up should only be $50? Thats less than the msrp of a dual shock controller. Your comment just doesn't make sense as far as pricing and marketing.

"Move" on and you get yourself into a financial quesiton. Are you willing to fork out all that cash? I'd say the average person buying the Wii would side with the Wii. They're in it for affordable and acceptable fun. Most purchasers of Wii aren't Wii players.
The bottom line is, would making it more affordable truly slice your profits down to a point where you're not making enough profit? $80 = less buyers whereas $50 = more buyers.
Again, as a current PS3 owner, I don't really care if Wii controllers were $1 or $100. I'm not inclined to buy one, use one or think of one. What I want to do is expand what I do have. It's either 2 Moves w/ Nav or nothin'. At this point, my wallet says nothing.
That said, I'd absolutely LOVE to buy the Move. It's incredible technology that's worth the effort and, in my opinion, will be the successor in the 3D Gaming vs Move race.

The Move is kind of pricey, $50 for the controller and $30 for the sub controller and $30 for the eye. Not terribly bad though. I'm looking forward to getting Dead Space 2 and Dead Space Extraction with it. And I guess Killzone 3 will have Move support - that game looks insanely stupendous.

This is only $10 more than the wii setup and its much better. For one it has games that don't look like they were made for super nintendo or n64 at best. Sony move games, even the party games, will have better graphics.
I am super stoked. Can't wait to be a sorcerer's apprentice. Sorcery purchase day 1 from what I've seen so far.

I just can't justify spending nearly $250 for two Moves & Navs and a game i'd care for. For what it does, I don't think it'd be a worthy buy only because of how much it'll get used.
I didn't buy a PS3 to fill in a Wiis' shoes. I bought a PS3 for the PS3. There's nothing justified about price matching Nintendos' gimmicky hardware unless you are trying to prove that Sony is just after the gimmicky revenue.
Now, I would absolutely LOVE to get the Move and, but unless money falls from the sky, I can't do that. Give me a bundle with Nav included for $100 and $50 for Move w/ Nav and we'll talk.
The sad part is, 2 Moves' don't equate 2 players as some games utilize both Moves' for punching, etc. We're going solo with $100 worth of hardware. Think about THAT. So.. $200 for two people in a room to play a boxing game? Hello?!
At that point, I'd be better off signing all my paychecks to Sony.

As shown you do not need the nav for every game, lots of the family games only require the wand. My point is simply that it's no more expensive than what is already there, but it is better.
I am always strapped for cash and so I'm not saying that its not a lot of money, I'm just saying its not a lot more than your other option. As for me, I plan on getting the camera now, it has plenty of other uses, like video chat. Then when the move comes out I'll buy a wand and nav. I'll use it on compatible games I have already, then probably buy a new wand and nav whenever I get the chance.
Also the wii only comes with 1 game and and 1 controller set, I do think the ps3 bundle should include the nav controller but really thats my only part I don't understand with their sales plan.

but for all you still needing the PSeye, here's how you can save yourself $10 to 20 bucks on it alone.
Just check out your gaming stores or go online for a PS3 game bundle called "Eye of Judgement".
THE EOJ bundle not only has the game, but also comes with the PSeye, and even includes a stand for the eye.
It should be going for $19.99USD retail or even less now(I got mine at Toys R Us for that price)late last year.

some of the move games require 2 move controllers or 1 move and 1 sub controller.
so if i want to play every move compatible game out there i need to spend 80 AUD + 80 AUD for 2 move controllers + 50 AUD for a sub controller + 80 for the camera.
thats 290 bucks just so i can play move compatible games, that only buys me 1 game.
not to mention kinect is only going to be 200 and that can have multiple people connected at once.
no need to worry about your controllers going flat either.

anyway, how many games do you know that require 4 DS3s to play?
none!
the point is if you want to play socom 4 with move you MUST! have 1 move and 1 sub and 1 camera thats 210 bucks there just so i can play socom 4.
if i want to play the fight lights out than i need another move controller because that requires 2 move controllers.
thats the point, you can play games with 4 DS3s well some if you want.
but moves not giving you the choice.
you can play any ps3 game with 1 DS3 controller, not so with move.
so sorry but its your argument that does not hold merit.
