Kojima: ZoE3 "Pushed To The Back" In Favor Of "Taboo"
So mastermind Hideo Kojima has several projects planned and two of them are getting all the attention: one is Zone of the Enders 3 while the other is a mystery "taboo" game.
And because of the latter, ZoE3 has apparently been put on hold. Kojima said as much during a strange impromptu Q&A session shot from his hotel in France for the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker event. You can find the Japanese video over at Andriasang and although he still won't go into specifics, he does mention the following:
"Regarding ZOE3, there's been various things, so it's been sort of pushed to the back."
Then we heard from producer Kenichiro Imaizumi, who said it really isn't easy for them to do another ZoE installment and they'd have to stop doing "something else" first. Both Kojima and Imaizumi added that ZoE3 is always a hot topic of conversation wherever they go, which isn't exactly surprising considering the immense following the first two titles created. Oh, and when asked about Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Kojima refused to comment because - as the developers told us - it isn't his MGS game. He will still supervise the project but as Imaizumi said, Kojima "passed the torch to Matsuyama and Kimura."
Then, the question about that "taboo" game came up and Kojima responded:
"The Taboo is a project for high spec machines that I'm hoping to do myself next. It may or may not be a taboo, but for me, I think it will be quite the problematic game."
This really sort of indicates a type of game that he isn't quite comfortable making, so we're all starting to think of different genres... We are hoping that whatever it is, it's the massive PS3 exclusive that has been rumored. Anyway, that's the Kojima update for now and although the shoulder massage is a little bizarre, we figure Kojima should get shoulder massages from girls whenever he damn well pleases.

Thus he could actually mean 'high spec machine'.
Besides there's that "PS3 exclusive rumor", kinda coincidental, ain't it?!
Heck, even if it's multi-plat I don't care, as long as Kojima-san doesn't compromise any content for DVD-size's sake I'm cool with it.
It's Kojima after all and he's already proven he can handle Sony's hardware rather well, unlike a majority of third party developers.

And if you think about it - yea...the main series has ended(?) on PlayStation...with Peace Walker.
Snake Eater 3D and Rising are really just some spin-offs. If Rising really was a part of the Metal Gear Solid series - you think Kojima sama would let it be directed and designed by someone else? I doubt it.

Kojimas appearance on the M$ stage was most likely a PR stunt thought of by konami or most likely microsoft in order to shift more units for the 360 that probably wont happen since most 360 owners only care about halo or gears. i was talking to this guy and just because of the E3 microsoft presentation, didnt even know it was multiplatform.

apparently Kojima is revealing something at TGS this year, a mystery PS3 exclusive... is it all adding up?

Kojima always had a sense of quality (and epic cut scenes ^^) so I'd rather imagine what he still can offer to PS3 (exclusives) rather than what will be multi-plat ;)
positive thinking ftw =)

I wonder when his contract with Konami ends. He may have lost some of his enthusiasm, given they seem to be forcing him to do things he doesn't want to do.
How does creative head of Japan Studio sound to everyone?

Unless Taboo is the S-E project, which would make sense with their 'EXTREME EDGE' idea. Ah, as long as he lifts the lid on something soon, I'll be happy. Come on Hideo, give me something to get excited about.
KOJIMA KAMI NAN DESU!
Peace.

And on this taboo project - I really wanted to be a little ticked off because ZoE3 would be amazing on ps3; although with all of the movement towards multiplayer (they even made mgs:o) i wonder if it would gain enough traction for non fans to make it a purchase instead of a rental.
However, I think it would be really nice for Kojima to spread his wings a little and get some time to flex some new muscles.

He says "for high spec machines," which probably means it's multiplat.
Just hope it's good and not something like Front Mission or something
