Black Rock Working On Mystery Title For PS3, 360
If you're currently enjoying Split/Second - and we know a good many of you are - you're probably interested in hearing about developer Black Rock's new project.
These guys know racing, which is why we're assuming it's a racing game. As noted by GamerZines, there's a job listing on Black Rock's site that indicates "an unannounced game on Xbox 360 and PS3." They're currently seeking "an experienced Technical Art Director," and they also need a Studio Design Dept. Manager, who will have "a strong passion and expert knowledge for games of all genres." Of course, given the recent success of Split/Second, it wouldn't be a shock to learn that a sequel was on the way, but there's one additional tidbit of interest. Firstly, while they do specify a need for experience in racing games, they say they want a "knowledge of all genres" and furthermore, someone who has "prior experience in motion capture." ...now, if it is a racing game, which it certainly should be, what kind of racing experience also features mo-cap? Well, guess we'll just have to wait and see; we're definitely intrigued.
In addition to Split/Second, Black Rock is also well known for producing certain titles in the acclaimed MotoGP franchise, as well as 2008's excellent off-road racer, Pure.

Not sure what the mocap would be for in a racing game, but it makes me curious.

that said i really hope there not doing a sequel, id love to see a open world racing game ala need for speed most wanted.
i really enjoyed that game, its by far the best NFS game made this gen!
but have it open style like burnout paradise, instead of having tracks or having streets blocked off so you know where to go have it open.
so the player has to choose the right way, and the fastest way.
as they say the fastest car does not always win, its down to the route you take!
also have different game modes too, just racing for the whole game gets boring.
add in stunts, and collectibles to find like burnouts yellow gates and billboards.
add in some game modes like road rage that was so much fun in burnout, and road rage a race to the finish line and you must survive.
ah what the hell, just make a copy of burnout paradise since we wont be seeing burnout any time soon since criterion are working on NFSHP.
as much as i love hot pursuit i wish criterion just stayed on burnout and EA got someone else to do hot pursuit!
