More Twisted Metal Info, New Features Still Being Added
We follow David Jaffe's Twitter page on our own Twitter account, and we notice when he gets all Tweet-happy.
It's not always about game-related stuff, obviously, but the Twisted Metal details have really been flying lately. To start with, he gives us a vague idea of how far along the game is in development, as it seems there are still features yet to be added. For instance, vehicles will "toss debris and flip cars when a big ram occurs" but that's not part of the gameplay at this time. Furthermore, he answers a question some of you have asked before, regarding the prospect of new characters/vehicles after the game has launched. Jaffe does confirm this will happen, although he didn't specify the delivery method (i.e., premium DLC, free patch, etc.). Other pieces of info include being able to switch your vehicle after dying, the return of local multiplayer (you know how Jaffe likes the "sit on your couch with a friend and play" idea), and a total of 16 characters with 16 different vehicles.
Oh, and although we thought there would be only two Factions, there will actually be four: we knew about the Clowns (Sweet Tooth clan) and the Dolls (Dollface followers), but there will also be the Skulls (Grimm followers) and the Holy Men (Preacher sect). The more we hear about Twisted Metal, the more excited we become and we can't wait to see it in action. Give us that beta!

I know some ppl are like you and spend hours and hours on fighters, racers, and other games like that, but I am not one of them, it's just not the style of game that I play on a regular basis. I'll play my rpg's multiple times over 100 hours each play through.
Fighters and the like I always play for about 20 hours when I first get it, basically I beat the story or all the challenges or whatever, then I put it down and will only play it a few times a year.
This is however why I don't sell my games, I will play them for forever, but I still just don't dedicate time to these types of games, just not me.

anyway i cant wait till this comes out, its about bloody time we get a proper car combat game!
the only game with the same style as TM was the original full auto on the 360, propper open world game no track BS like BLUR or MNR.
also who said a car combat game has to be kart styled?
i cant believe we have not had more TM knockoffs, i mean it is one of the funnest genres and at the same time one of the most deserted!
that is one thing i cant understand about developers these days, when releasing a game your suppose to check the market, see where theres a dry patch.
not follow the sheep into the pond and drown yourself!
there is a billion shooters out there, so we get a billion more!
there are very few car combat games out there, so we get less.
go figure!

there is plenty of interest out there for this type of game, i mean which other game lets you drive around in a sandbox styled GTA world blowing up cars?
closest game i can think of is the original full auto battlelines back on the 360.
if done well a clone of twisted metal could sell really, really well!
if done well obviously, if done poorly well than anything like that will sell poorly, unless its got a brand name like halo or COD.
those could be done as poorly as naughty bear and they would still sell through the roof!

there's something about it that i can't put my finger on... but either way, i hope it enjoys great success on the PS3 and gives more gamers a reason to get a PS3... it's just not my bag, baby...
