Kojima and Co. Won't "Look Into" ZoE3 Until After Rising

Although it has been clarified numerous times that Metal Gear Solid: Rising is not a Hideo Kojima MGS title, the industry mastermind still has some part in the production.

Therefore, we may have to wait until Rising is done before we hear about any updates concerning the new Zone of the Enders. According to VG247 citing a translated interview with JeuxFrance, Kojima said he will "look into" developing the long-awaited next ZoE installment after Rising is out the door. The bottom line is that Kojima Productions can't do everything at once, and let's not forget that Hideo also has a fresh "taboo" project that he's keeping under wraps for the time being.

"My team and I want to develop a new ZOE. But it turns out that Kojima Productions has limited resources in terms of teams and directors. So at this stage, we have not yet had time to work on ZOE 3 which has been postponed at the calendar. However, I think after Rising, I will look seriously ZOE."

Kojima has often brought up the subject of ZoE3, which is why so many avid followers have been on pins and needles, waiting for an official announcement. And of course, we'll have to hear more about this "taboo" game, too. Anything Kojima works on is guaranteed to get plenty of attention; the day the man produces a shoddy product is the day Gabe Newell stands on a PlayStation stage and says one of his new games will be "best on the PS3."

I really want ZoE3, but whatever he's working on is sure to be something good. I want to know about this new project and then he should start working on the third installment of the greatest mech franchise ever.

That just made me think, maybe this taboo thing that Kojima is working on is an HD remake of ZoE1-2.

Because face it, all japanese devs now adays act as if a remake is impossible. (hence the taboo of it all)

why would he want to do a ZOE3 so badly, if he was currently working on the previous 2.

Its like making MGS 1,2,3 one after another.

That certainly makes ZoE3 a distant concern for any mech lovers. A shame too because I'm pretty sure a new ZoE game would be a fantastic good time.

You think he'd be willing to let up a bit on the difficulty though?

Haha, GAAAAAABE! Anyway, got to pass on Rising but can't wait to get into the GOW cloned Castlevania and to hear more about this taboo thingamagig. I wonder if it is some sort of Move game or something really esoteric. I hesitate to even guess at what it could be.

Umm, never played a ZOE game. I'm guessing I missed something.

ZOE - Fast Paced Mech Action game. There is no mech/gundam type game that even comes close to competing with the speed and fluid-ness of ZOE, the 1000 mech battle in ZoE2 still makes me giddy.

Meh, Square is dead. Sony should buy Kojima Pro then convince Nomura to leave Squeenix and start making RPGs with Kojima under Sony's unlimited resources.

Epic Mech game for the PS2, Zone of the Enders, and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (ZOE:Anubis in japan) Best mech game ever created. but sadly there's really not any great gameplay vids you'll find, there are some on youtube, but they're awful D=

Are you implying that Rising will be shoddy John? I don't like that kind of thought. Even for a second rate game of a great franchise. Especially from Kojima.

Anyway, I don't believe this. Kojima can do more than one thing at a time, and besides didn't he split his team into two to work on Rising and Peace Walker? Isn't it logical that he would be doing the same now? Or perhaps Team2 is working on Rising, while Kojima and Team1 is working on the taboo project, and Team2 will move onto ZOE3 when Rising is finished. Or, and here's a novel idea, I'm overthinking this and should just be quiet.

And i was so excited for ZOE3. the first was groundbreaking--i never experienced such seamless combat. the second was only a minor upgrade from the first, but still groundbreaking nonetheless :)

the way you can cut through anything is just really cool!

You should change the picture you are using for Kojima. He looks like he has been with the same expression in the same room and thinking for years (since I have been visiting this site for a long time now and you have been using the same picture since more than a year, I think).
