The Dog Days Of Summer Heat Up One Week Early
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog DaysThere may not be many hotly anticipated games for the summer, but perhaps that drought will allow titles like Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days to shine.
Today, IO Interactive and Square-Enix Europe have confirmed that this gritty sequel has officially gone gold and now has a finalized release date. The good news is that it'll launch on August 17 in North America and August 20 in Europe and PAL territories, which is one week earlier than originally scheduled. The game certainly looks like a definite upgrade over the first title, and the dark, violent, in-your-face atmosphere and environment should definitely turn some heads. Said Niels Jorgensen, general manager of IO Interactive:
"The team has worked hard to deliver a game that’s different from the current trend of third-person shooters and we’re so pleased to be able to share it with the world ahead of schedule. With development now complete, why keep people waiting any longer? We want to let gamers experience the game we’ve created and get them online betraying their friends in Fragile Alliance, so we have decided to bring the release date forward by one week."
The game spans 48 hours of hell with two of the most notorious criminals around; a simple job goes terribly wrong in Shanghai and it's all downhill from there. Featuring "groundbreaking art direction, relentless action gameplay and innovative multiplayer," IO seeks to deliver an entertaining and perhaps even unforgettable experience. Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is coming for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Kanye and Lynch 1 although it had so many problems, the game was actually hella fun, it was one of those games that I didn't care for the graphics as much as the gameplay, believe me u should give it a chance albeit the bad graphics and tearing

I'll still pick this up because I love IO (though they're really killing me with the wait for 'Hitman V'), but I think it's going to be a post-Christmas purchase as of right now.

Hitman was stealth and strategy, K&L was 3rd person shooter.

Just so you know, comparing 'Mafia' to 'Grand Theft Auto' is never going to win you any points with any fan of the series.
And as I said, I will eventually pick up 'Dog Days', but it's mostly due to my respect for IO and not much else.

mafia 2 is going to keep me busy for quite a while, plus dead rising 2 is releasing that week too so.
in this industry you need to leave a impression, otherwise your going to fall by the way side.
sadly, this is what will happen with K&L2.
releasing a new IP and it sucking, also does not help, not many games recover from that!

But so far this one's looking 100 times better than the first, and I think the difference will be just as amazing to see & play, as the extreme jump from KZ1 to KZ2 was too.
